U.S. Solid Motorized Ball Valve- 1/2" Brass Ball Valve with Full Port, 9-24V AC/DC and 2 Wire Auto Return Setup

Pricey but solid. they work solid and do make the zippy noise. These are not INSTANT. They take a couple of seconds to open or close. Great for RV tanks as you can barely hear them work. I haven't had one malfunction yet with gray water or debris. I got them on multiple tanks under the RV for almost a year, no problems (I do spray silicon lubricant into each valve every 6 month to avoid salt water corrosion). These don't overheat when left ON ( I leave them open all night when the temp drops below freezing) to empty the tanks and avoid ice damage.

I used this to control the water for an automatic evaporative cooler setup. It worked perfectly all summer exposed to full sun in 115°+ weather. It did not see much rain so I cannot confirm its water resistance.

I've had this valve in service for a couple of months, and I have to say I am very happy. It seems to be working flawlessly. Installation was a breeze, and the only thing I did was reduce the supply voltage from 24V to 12V and add an LED to show when power was applied. The valve still works great since it is rated for 9V to 24V. It's a great choice for the project over a solenoid valve.

I actually needed a normally opened valve for my project and not a normally closed one. It can easily be changed, as follows: open the lid and remove the PCB and the little motor drive. Change the two limit switches from location. They easily slide in- and out of their slot. Cut the motor wires and solder them corssed: blue to yellow, and yellow to blue. Re-assemble the motor and pcb, and replace the lid. Done. Now the valve operates as a normally OPEN valve. For such a standard part, I expected that the manufacturer would have disigned a little switch inside the controller box to choose between Normally OPEN and Normally CLOSED operation. But with a little effort it can be changed. Good luck.

I originally purchased a different three wire model that tested ok, but failed on the second day of use. (Easy refund at US Solid/Amazon) I opted to replace it with this valve since the other failed "open" and it wasted a LOT of water. This valve basically opens electrically but closes mechanically. If it fails, It should "fail" closed which is more beneficial for my use. I have it acting as a remote purge drain valve for an evaporative cooler. So far working perfectly, I coupled it with a timer which dumps the cooler reservior contents after 6 hours of the cooler running. I like these models that US Solid sells that operate on a variety of power sources. This one will use AC or DC and from 9-24 volts. To keep from adding extra power sources, I just wired the power to operate the valve off my sprinkler timer transformer. If I get another valve failure, I will revisit this review, but for now 5 stars! After a month or so of no issues I plan to buy more of their valve products for some other projects. UPDATE: June 2020, valve still working with no problems. UPDATE: May 2021, valve still working with no problems.

Not sure about product reliability. The unit worked perfectly for about 7 weeks and then got stuck in the open position. I was using this as a master control valve for an irrigation system. Being stuck in the open position of course made this product useless as a master control valve. It seems that many others experienced similar failures. I was using 24VAC to operate my valve. Will not buy any product from this vendor again. Not only is product apparently unreliable but vendor support is very slow compared to other USA suppliers.

I'm very impressed with fit and finish of this product. Looks to be built well. I've tested one of them with a 24 volt power supply that i also ordered for my project and it works well. I maintained the power on the valve for approximately 45 minutes and the valve stayed open just as it should. When the power was removed, the valve closes. I also monitored the temperature on the valve and could not feel any heat at all. I'm in the process of installing these valves on my new shower to make it a smart shower. I'm using ge smart switches to activate the 24 volt power supplies for each of 3 valves. One will turn on the regular shower. Another will activate the rain shower and the last will activate the hand shower. I will have a smartthings button inside the shower that will be able to change back and forth inside the shower. I have no normal hot or cold water valves in this shower. The water will be routed in to the valves from a watts thermostatic valve which will be set to my perfect temperature. All this will be tied together with smartthings hub and Alexa. I will be installing a gfci plug that will have a battery back up plugged in and then all the components of this shower will be plugged in to this battery back up. I'm putting a lot of faith in these valves. Lets hope it works! Update!! Valves are working great after two weeks of use. I love my automated shower!

So far so good with these. 2 years outside in cold weather climates and they still work great come springtime.

I use a wireless relay along with a 12 Vdc power adaptor to drive this valve in the backyard, so that I can turn the water on/off remotely from anywhere on the premises. The system turned out extremely reliable. When the valve is off, there is no leakage at all, thanks to this excellent product!

These were total awful. We bought 12 of them spent $1200.00 Canadian. After 5 weeks one quite working then 1 week later another one quite working. We tried to contact Amazon 3 times they totally ignored our emails and would not respond. So we lost out out about $200.00 right away. I'm only hoping we only loose the two not the 10, more we have in our garden. I would hate to be ripped off the whole $1200.00 we spent. Please be aware they don't have any warranty and they don't stay working very long. This company is quick to take your money but will not take care of their customers. Be Aware.

I hope it lasts because it works great. I'm using this to shut off the heat to the cab in my truck as the heater controls don't shut off all the way and still throw heat in the summer. Just have to hit the switch and no more hot air when I don't want it.
