Beautiful green suitcase and great quality.
I am obsessed with these suitcase and the 16” was the last piece I needed for my set. I have the 3 larger sizes. My go to luggage due to the top opening and not clamshell style. It holds more than you expect and the wheels glide like butter. The green color is beautiful and the material is very durable and doesn’t scratch easily.

Handled everything that was thrown at it
I wanted to wait until we had a major trip before writing a review. We completed a 22-day trip overseas and this luggage handled spectacularly. Here is a breakdown of what we wanted, and how it performed: Hard shell that won't crack or dent- I literally tripped trying to get both mine and my wife's suitcases onto a shinkansen (bullet train) and drove my knee with 190 pounds behind it right into the the center of one suitcase. Nothing. No damage at all. Wheels that move and don't break- Japan has yellow raised textures on the sidewalks for the visually impaired throughout the cities, it can can play merry havoc with suitcase wheels. These wheels danced right over them and always stayed on track. On smooth surfaces the suitcases felt like they were floating. Side note: Put the suitcase on its side when on a train or hill, if you cannot hold on to it, the suitcase will take off on you! Zipper: So far, so good. Easy to use, didn't get stuck, and didn't come open. Lock and zipper pull-tabs: the built in lock is nice, but I know just how rough airlines are, almost all of my past suitcases have had zipper tabs ripped off. I used a suitcase cover to ensure these were protected. I wish the company had a little bump-out on either side of the zipper lock so that the zipper pulls would be better protected, but we had no issues. FRONT OPENING!!: This was a really big deal for us. We wanted hard shell, but I hate the clam-shell designs that are everywhere. Hanke got it! It worked perfectly. So happy with how this functioned. We had a Delsey, front opening suitcase, and the zipper really could not handle the corners, just not a good design. The zippers failed too quickly, which was a shame, because otherwise Delsey makes a good bag. Handle: So comfortable and easy to adjust. I like a recessed button so that I am not constantly changing the handle height accidentally (looking at you Samsonite). Size: We got the 26-inch and thought it was overkill, but we wanted a slightly larger checked bag because there is no option to expand this suitcase. We left for Japan with half-empty bags, and they were packed when we came home. It was relaxing not worrying about organizing and space for the return, we just shoved everything in, and still came in under weight. Again, it was a longer trip, and we picked up some nice ceramics on our travels (nothing broke on the way home, the hard-shell did its job!) but maybe a smaller one for week-long trips. Hard-shell and color: Let's face it, white is going to show everything, but I'd rather be able to pick my suitcase out at luggage return and the suitcase covers not only protected the zipper pulls, but kept the scuff marks off the luggage. The luggage was strong! Very strong. Overall: I have to say, with a few domestic trips, and its first international under its belt, these suitcases have proven to be the best we have had in ages. At this price-point, I have not had anything perform as well- and I have gone through a few! I have been so frustrated with wheels that don't track, handles that break, zippers that fail, or soft-shells that look like box cutters were taken to them during loading. Let's put it this way, even if the wheels had broken off, I would buy this suitcase again. We brutalized the luggage this trip, and it took it all. I fully expected something to break at some point, just the fact that it didn't has made me a fan.

LOVE THIS BAG!
Love, love, love this luggage! I looked at a TON of bags before my recent trip to Rome because I wanted something stylish that also wouldn’t take up too much space. European hotel rooms are usually a bit smaller, and the one we stayed in only had a tiny corner closet—no dressers at all. Having a top-opening suitcase made such a huge difference. I could keep it on the luggage stand, open it from the top, and easily access all my things without the suitcase taking over the entire room. My husband brought a typical clamshell suitcase, and his took up so much room. It was constantly in the way, which made me even more grateful that I chose this top-opening style. The wheels roll smoothly and softly, the color is beautiful, and the overall design is just perfect for travel. It handled the trip to Italy really well with only minor scuffing. On the way back it picked up a few more marks, but that’s totally normal for any luggage, and if you want to keep it pristine, you can always buy a luggage wrap. This bag was exactly what I needed, and I truly love it. I’m already excited to take it back to Italy next year!

Great carry on!
I spent a rather unhealthy amount of time searching for a new carry on that would fit my needs for both air and car travel. I needed something that was roomy but still carry-on approved, and of course, sturdy enough to handle TSA and uneven terrain. Tried it out on my most recent flight to NYC and it worked really well! DESIGN: I love the color and classy appearance. The grey-blue is bright enough to stand out but nothing too bright/neon. I wanted something that would not scuff easily and the textured design really helps hide any scratches it may ever accumulate. I had to gate-check it twice due to available space on the plane and it arrived to both destinations without any damage. There were a few black scuff marks but I was able to wipe those away with my thumb. There isn’t any reinforcement on the corners. Wheel side should hold up fine, but particularly the bottom corners could potentially be problematic if not packed right. I may reinforce them myself at some point, but they’ve held up so far. The metal reinforcement around the main body of the suitcase is a nice touch for durability and the material is strong enough on the sides where there’s not a lot of give but enough to where it’s not too rigid. The telescope handle does not take up much space on the inside, about an inch, and the lining is loose enough so I could pack smaller clothes between the bars without issue. The interior pockets on the top panel do not take up space in the main packing area based on zipper design. I love the waterproof pocket as well. They’re not particularly big, but smaller items or a swimsuit can still fit nicely. Since the top panel does not take up space in the main compartment (something that laptop compartments often do) I was able to utilize that space to toss my jacket or raincoat on top and still zip it up easily (without sitting on it!) SPACE: The major selling point was of course the top-open design. I don’t think I could ever go back to a clam-shell hard case again. It worked great in the small hotel room, fit beautifully on the luggage wrack, and was a game-changer when I needed to open it up in the airport to toss my jacket inside. My toiletry bag is on the bigger side and fit great with plenty of room to stack clothes and other things. I’m an over-packer and had plenty of room for a 3-day trip. I was able to fit my toiletry bag, first-aid bag, small purse, 4+ days of clothes, 2 pairs of shoes (heels and boots!), curling iron, and raincoat with some room to spare. I used a small vacuum-seal bag for pants, a dress, and a sweater and folded up, it fit well inside. WHEELS/MANEUVERABILITY: This thing glides so smoothly on flat surfaces. Thicker carpet is manageable even with a backpack on top, and without the backpack it rolls great. It held up well on escalators/flat escalators with no issues getting on or off with my backpack on it. Rough terrain like cobblestone would probably require it to be pulled behind you, but I’m not concerned about the wheels holding up on such surfaces. MISC: YKK zippers on the outside held up nicely. The TSA lock was easy to change and worked well. I like how it’s located on the top as I feel like that’s less likely to get damaged. Of course, if someone really wanted to get into your bag they could, but it’s a nice touch. Weight is pretty standard for a carry on. I was able to lift it into the TSA bins easily. CONS: While there are not any major issues with this suitcase, I gave it 4 stars mainly for the handle design and lack of bottom handle by the wheels. The handlebar is not seamless with the telescope rods which could potentially be problematic when taking off any bag with a built-in luggage strap. It has quite an edge to it that is manageable but not when needing to remove a bag quickly. My backpack has a detachable strap I use to wrap around the handle, but for someone with a strap flush to their bag it could be a deal-breaker. There isn’t an additional grab handle on the bottom by the wheels, so moving it into the overhead bins, TSA bins, car, etc. is a little awkward and you kinda have to hold onto the wheels which isn’t the most user-friendly. If there was one thing that I would absolutely change about this suitcase, it would be to add an additional handle on the bottom. The compression straps on the inside of the bag could be a little longer, and they’re also attached unevenly which has its pros and cons. For one, the attachments utilize areas already inside of the suitcase so there’s no additional hardware taking up space, and it may help a little bit more compression-wise, but at the same time the one side is really easy to lose if you’re not careful when packing. I had to unpack once to retrieve the strap. The straps that prop the top panel up are also quite long, which is nice if you want to lay the panel flat, but since there are clips to detach it, the length is a bit overkill and just got in the way when zipping it up. I may just cut them shorter at some point. Overall, I’m really happy with this suitcase and am excited to use it on future trips!

Great carryon for kids!!
I got three of these for my elementary school boys. They were rough on them: crashing, riding, racing, and one thrown when my youngest son got frustrated. Not a dent and still smooth rolling. They fit perfectly as a carryon item, with plenty of room for a weeks worth of clothes, toiletries, extra shoes, jacket, and swim gear with extra room for a couple of toys. I also really liked the trunk style opening. It made it easy for them to pack and organize without causing a mess if they opened it up while traveling. So, if you’re looking for a durable, sturdy, and secure suitcase that still looks nice and clean, then I highly suggest you give these a try! Definitely worth the price as we will be using them often. PS- no other travelers were harmed during the course of this review. Though a few were startled 😅

Sturdy Suitcase - Doubles as Trampoline
I love this suitcase! It's very lightweight without being flimsy, which is very impotant to me. I felt compelled to write a review after ~1.5 years of ownership because I just watched my child jump on it like a trampoline and it survived completely unscathed! Both the handle and the wheels move smoothly. Be aware that this is a trunk-style suitcase. I prefer this style because I find it easier to pack, but if you prefer the kind that zips down the middle then this isn't for you. Another thing to keep in mind is the color. I have the black, which is shiny like patent leather. It looks very sleek, but this finish really makes scuffs stand out. I don't particularly care about this, but heads up if you'd mind if thing bothers you.

Perfect trunk design. Bad quality. Zippers break after one use. Sad.
WHEN this product was brand new, I LOVED the design. I refuse to use clamshell luggage, the footprint in small hotel rooms is too cumbersome, heavy and just outright a stupid design. The trunk style is the only way, I was so happy to find this piece. But sadly, after the 1st use one zipper broke. I did not overstuff it, it just didn't zip. I could still use the second zipper to zip the case, but the dongle broke on that one so I attached a carabiner to it for something to grab - every time it went through baggage claim the carabiner never returned with it. I used a strap to keep the bag secure JIC. I also couldn't lock the case because one of the dongles was missing. A louis vuitton bag was stolen out of my luggage at MSY over Christmas because of this. Now, the second zipper is broken and officially cannot use the case. Very unfortunate this broke within the first use and was barely functional for another dozen times. I am hoping this has some type of warranty with it so it can be fixed or a new one can be provided.

Sleek, lightweight and functional
I really love this elegant carry on. It's a good size and is light weight, but sturdy. The color is a nice creamy beige which will stand out from all the dark suitcases in a classy way. I love the look of a cream colored suitcase but was hesitant because everyone knows a light color would show scuffs. But... the texture will help hide minor scuffs that may happen over time and if it does get permanent marks, I can replace it without feeling too guilty considering the reasonable price. The handle extends easily and the wheels turn smoothly. I love that it is NOT the "clam shell" design that takes up so much room when you open it. If you use a couple of packing cubes, I bet you could easily fit a week's worth of smartly chosen outfits. I thought it had a "wet pocket" inside, but it doesn't. Just two mesh pockets. This isn't a big deal to me considering TSA limits wet items you can bring anyway and I will pack those in a separate bag. It has little feet on one long side so it doesn't have to rest on the wheels if you need it to orient another way. Overall, I am very pleased and can't wait to go on my next trip!
