Bought this one for my girlfriend over a year ago , it's worked flawlessly although I had to tweak the deadbolt hole a little because the door bores were off a little so no fault of the lock. She hasn't even had to change the batteries yet. So I had to install a new entry door for my mudroom and decided to install this one for myself. Everything lined up perfect, install took about a half an hour and the lock is working perfectly. I did have to enlarge the mortise for the oversize strike plate. It wasn't difficult for me , but for some it might be worth it to just buy a standard deadbolt strike plate as most prehung doors come with a standardized mortise hole which is smaller than the supplied plate. No stars deducted for that. instructions and assembly very straightforward. Nice lock for a great price, although next time I'll get the deadbolt lock and doorhandle set, even better deal.

If you are reading this you already know WHY you're thinking about installing it. PROS: keyless entry and exit. Ability to set a temporary use code. Great for Air BnB, rentals, lockers, sheds, guests, etc. Ease of installation of the door is already pre drilled for a standard deadbolt. Accessibility to change AA batteries. Not sure why others were unable to program the code and features. I read the instructions twice BEFORE attempting to install the lock. The part I think some people might miss or overlook is the part about which direction the bolt pushes out during the initial calibration. Cost value is very high. CONS: doesn't feel that robust or quality materials but you get what you pay for. If you're worried about the door being kicked in or someone damaging the lock, this may not be Fort Knox. No Wi-Fi connection but for the price it is what it is. Recommended if you need a basic keyless entry .

UPDATE...time has passed... and I STILL like this deadbolt for its value because they have kept the price at a very reasonable level for the features of this deadbolt. I have installed quite a few of them, and now that I have the process down I like it more and have changed my rating. I have been able to rekey these with absolutely NO problem matching an existing Schlage or SC1 key. Yes, it is mostly plastic on the inside, but the inside should not be experiencing a lot of wear. Yes, if you don't press the reset button while inserting the last battery, it will not work properly and you have to reset it, but if you do it correctly the rest of the steps work as written in the instructions. Yes, programming takes a few additional button pushes, but once you get the hang of it, it becomes second nature. Now, you know. Oh...and it takes 4x AA batteries, so make sure you keep those on hand. "It is a good electronic deadbolt for someone looking to match their other SC1 keys and doesn't need WiFi connectivity. The inside is ALL plastic, but for the price, I expected that. It was easy to rekey and it installed easily. HINT follow the install instructions carefully for battery insertion and door handing (using the reset button and poke tool) or it likely won't work properly. I like the rounded shape on the top and bottom compared to the squared off ones more commonly found. This looked great installed above a Schlage matte black knob. Anti-peeping feature is probably my favorite feature of this model."

Quick, easy set up(I’m a woman with little education on home fixes and I put it in without even looking at the directions). The personal security key was pretty straight forward and simple to change to my preferences. Can’t comment on battery life yet as it has only been a day. I love that you can use with key if nessecary, and that it looks nice and works very well. As mentioned - I Just put in so can’t comment on how it works after a bit of use but so far so good, the buttons press easily and the lock movement is smooth. It’s a good lock. Can be used with the code, or just with the keys. Good but for the price for sure. Takes four DOUBLE A Batteries. EDIT! It has been many months now and the lock still works great. Defenitally a great buy for sure 10/10 would recommend
