Great sticks, size and weight sit perfectly between 5a and 5b
I used these for the first time on August 30 a three-hour show with my band. They definitely don't look as good as when I started, but they played amazingly well, and I feel like they are going to hold up as well or better than other sticks I've used before. The 5ab size is perfect for me, I love the way they kinda sit right in between the 5a and 5b sizes. They are weighted very well, and the length is perfect for me. I didn't feel like I had to reach as much as I did with my previous sticks, which are a bit shorter. But I also didn't find myself getting tangled up under cymbals like I have with longer ones. ProMark has always been my first choice for sticks; they haven't let me down yet, and I've been playing for 26 years.

Beautifully constructed
These sticks are perfectly straight and feel to be in the same weight range, so I gave them five stars. That said, they are not my favorite. Bear in mind that I am talking personal preference and not disparaging the stick itself. I much prefer the ProMark Rebound 7A ActiveGrip Hickory model. Here are the reasons for my preference: (1) These are a tad too heavy for my playing style, whereas the other ProMark 7A model is just the right weight. I am sure that has a lot to do with the density of the fire tempered wood as well as the fact that these have the weight in the butt while the other sticks are front loaded with the weight, (2) For some reason these leave marks on my drum heads while the other stick model does not. I use coated Ambassadors on all of my drums, so that was a bit disconcerting. (3) I love the other model, which has an ActiveGrip finish. These are more like unfinished sticks, albeit very smooth ones. I am new to the ProMark ActiveGrip coated sticks, but quickly became enamored of them, (4) I am a traditional grip player who uses dynamics a lot. For heavier music these sticks are better suited. Although I personally prefer other ProMark models, you may in fact love these. Especially if you play louder music. At 16 inches they certainly have reach, and the .535 inch diameter is a nice compromise between jazz sizes and rock sizes (I normally play a thin .512 Elvin Jones model when I am not playing the 7A ActiveGrip one.) One final attribute: the hardened, acorn tip on these sticks impart a brightness and articulation to cymbals that 7A Rebound model's tip does not.

Great sticks
As always ProMark comes through with a great stick. Well balanced pair, nice weight, a strong stick that resists premature breakage and chaffing. I'll buy them again.

Great sticks!
I mainly use a competitor's stick. But Promark Rebound 5A FireGrain are a cut above most sticks I've used. They're very hard, so they create an excellent snare snap and they're durable, so they last quite a while. I enjoy the texture and balance - and they look cool! The only reason I still use other sticks are for various sizes, weights and nylon tips.

Great Sticks!
Make sure you select the proper style before you check out. You can see slight differences in the tip when you view the different styles. I went with "rebound balance" to make the tips more closely resemble the Vic Firth 5B, which is my favorite stick ever. The tip is very similar and the feel of the stick is also very similar. To me it might be a little bit heavier, but feels like there's more momentum with each stroke. Overall, I love it. I cannot speak on how long these will last since I am using them for e-drums only. Hopefully someone else on here has details on how they last vs cymbals.

Fantastic sticks
Promark 7A rebound are by far my favorite sticks. I like both these Firegrain sticks and the ActiveGrip sticks. The ActiveGrip sticks stay in the hand really nicely, until the coating gets damaged. These Firegrain sticks are super-durable. They put up with a lot more abuse than you would expect for a 7A stick

Excellent balance and durability.
I was thrilled when these 7A Rebounds were finally released in the FireGrain and I'm not disappointed in the least. I used the FireGrain for about 3 years before I tried the Rebonds and fell in love with the feel. The 7A Rebound were previously unavailable in FireGrain until this late April/early May 2021. Now I feel that I've found my perfect stick. Excellent feel and balance for my style with the added durability. LOVE!

5A Rebound. Amazing sticks.
The 5a rebounds are not for everyone I imagine. The balance point on these sticks is so far back you can hold them at the very ends and still play ok. Comfortably less than an inch of the butt sticks out of my left trad-grip hand. They low-bounce. A lot. 5A is already is a "bouncy stick", making the taper even longer, pushing the center of gravity back, exaggerates the bounces even more. Very good for jazz, gospel, light funk, amazing cymbal response especially for faster work 1/16 and septuplet notes etc. No so good for rock or metal. Probably ok concert sticks too with the acorn tips.

These have lasted me ages! I used to buy nylon tipped sticks because I found the tips would break too easily. But these are going strong. Only one has broken so far and that was due to wearing down the stick from the amount of use.
