National Lampoon's Animal House [DVD]

A top film of the '70s - a laugh riot with Belushi as Bluto and the entire Delta House gang as they battle Omega House in the early '60s. This comedy is a must-see for any generation to check out. Even inspired a short-lived tv series "Delta House" as well.

Loved this movie when it first came out, and decided the time was right tout into my library. If you grew up in the 60s you should enjoy it

This was a great movie

Even watching Animal House now, it’s just as funny as any comedy released in 2025 or 2026. The humor may be wrapped in clear period nuances, but the core storylines—rebellion, friendship, absurd authority, and youthful chaos—feel surprisingly unchanged. That’s what makes the movie hold up so well. I really loved how John Landis directed it. The pacing is sharp, the comedic moments land naturally, and the madness never feels forced. There’s a confident balance between over-the-top humor and moments that feel oddly real, which keeps the movie engaging beyond just cheap laughs. It’s also great to see Tom Hulce and Kevin Bacon in these early roles. Their performances add personality and charm, and it’s fun spotting familiar faces before they became widely known. The cast as a whole sells the outrageous situations, making the comedy feel effortless. Overall, Animal House proves that a well-made comedy doesn’t age out. Despite being rooted in its era, the laughs are still loud, the energy is still contagious, and the spirit of the story feels just as relevant today.

Soy fan del clásico de oro del cine "Animal House" o Colegio de Animales, y cuando supe que Universal Studios la había restaurado en formato 4K Ultra HD, la compré de inmediato. Se ve espectacular, mejor que nunca, con una calidad de Imagen hermosa. Llegó rápido y en perfectas condiciones.

Film 8/10 Schreiend komischer College-Klamauk von John Landis aus den 1970er Jahren, der sogar heute noch wunderbar funktioniert. Vor allem John Belushi (Blues Brothers) sprüht vor lauter Spielfreude. Kultig! Bild 7/10 Der filmisch wirkende 1,85:1-Transfer besitzt durchweg eine befriedigende Schärfe. Die Durchzeichnung dunkler Bildinhalte ist sogar auf aktuellem hohen Niveau. Die feinen Strukturen der dunklen Anzüge (Kapitel 2) der Omega-House-Mitglieder sind auf Blu-ray allesamt erkennbar. Die Hautfarben der Protagonisten sehen natürlich aus, und auf den Einsatz von Schärfe/Rauschfilter wurde dankenswerterweise verzichtet. So gibt es keine Doppelkonturen, die auf eine digitale Nachschärfung schließen lassen. Ton 5/10 Mono! Entgegen der Artikelbeschreibung ist die tolle deutsche original Synchro in DTS 2.0-Monoton vorhanden! Die miserable deutsche 5.1-Neusynchro fehlt. Der englische Originalton ist wie angegeben in DTS-HD MA 5.1 vorhanden. Fazit: Für Fans von John Landis und John Belushi ist die Blu-ray ein Pflichtkauf. Alle anderen sollten die gute Bildqualität der Blu-ray gegenüber der deutlich schlechteren DVD-Fassung vorziehen. Besser sah der Film auch damals im Kino nicht aus!

Animal House is a rather well known movie , and deservedly so ; it's great fun , now becoming great nostalgia of a bygone age . My addition to the info on it would be the fact that the 30th Anniversary Edition contains even more fun , in that it contains 2 discs , with extras that provide great insight that make the movie more enjoyable. At the end of the movie there are subtitles indicating what became of the characters in later life. One extra is an elaboration on that theme. For instance at the end of the movie it is indicated that John Belushis' character goes on to become a Senator ; in the fictional extra he has gone beyond that to become President. Other characters are expanded on in a similar manner. The other extra is even more enjoyable in that it contains interviews with all the stars and producers / writers / director about the hi-jinks that comprised the production of the movie. It is obvious that they enjoyed the making of the movie even more than those of us that view it. Also included is an interactive Triva Challenge.

consegna amazon sempre veloce e precisa. impeccabile. sul film che dire. già visto in dvd, blu ray diverse volte, non poteva mancarmi la versione 4k steelbook nella mia collezione videoludica. Film strepitoso, esilarante e molto godibile. Una volta che inizi a guardare in 4k, non si torna indietro!
