Both the OZONE-PRODUCING UVC bulb, and the Ozone-FREE bulb work well and as expected.
This review is for both the Ozone-producing and Ozone-free 36 Watt UV Sanitizer Lamps with Remote Control, Powerful UVC Light with E26 Base. I use both the Ozone-free and Ozone-producing bulbs for different purposes in different homes. The ozone-producing unit was purchased for a musty smell in a river-front home. That ozone-producing UVC lamp was purchased in May 2023. It is used at least once per week. Its bulb is still working. That bulb generated the advertised ozone. The combination of UVC light and ozone works well to disable dust mites and mildew and other substances. It leaves a fresh scent in the home, eliminating the musty odor temporarily. The second Ozone-FREE lamp was recently purchased in May 2025. I use the ozone free lamp only to disable Dust mites rather than to eliminate a mildew odor. So far it is working well. According to my research, UVC light both Ozone-producing and the Ozone-free type, after use for about an hour, will sometimes initially leave a slight, burnt smell behind. To me, it indicates the lamp is doing its job. The burnt odor is generated by the UVC light breaking down organic matter in the air, such as matter found in dust, dead skin cells, mold, etc. The breakdown of organic matter releases sulfur-containing molecules called thiols. These molecules have a low detection threshold for humans. This burnt odor often goes away with weekly use of the product, in my experience, because less organic matter is being broken down. Regarding the ozone FREE bulb: I did not detect a noticeable ozone odor from the UVC bulb that was sold as OZONE FREE, only initially the burnt odor. It works at about 254.7nms wavelength. Regarding the bulb sold as an OZONE PRODUCING bulb: IT does produce a strong ozone odor. It works at a wavelength of about 185nms. After the lamp is turned off and the room air is cleared, it leaves behind a fresh scent as the ozone dissipates. That Ozone producing bulb also initially left behind a slight burnt odor. That odor also dissipates with frequent use of the product.

Good value for the money!
This seems to work well, but does leave a slight ozone odor. The light is very intense, and your certainly don't want to look at it. Simply press the timer button for the desired time required and it has a delay start feature that you certainly want to use. This is simple to use and a good value for the money. I've actually, since this purchase, had an LED UVC light installed in my HVAC system and it seems to do a good job.

Works well but a little unnerving to use
We have some mildew issues in the back rooms of our home due to rain water leaks. I’ve been through bottles of disinfectant spray and decided to try the Germicidal UV Lamp. I chose the version with ozone as it says the ozone can penetrate through obstacles that the light waves can’t reach. It actually works very well. I have used it once a month for the past several months and I no longer have any odors. My only problem is that the UV lamp has so many warning labels - not to look at the light and not to enter the room until the ozone has cleared which could be minutes or hours - that I get a little unnerved trying to use it. The remote control has no indicator to tell if the light is on or off and a few times I’ve walked in with it on when I thought it was off. A trick I’ve found is to turn the lights off in the room where I’ve placed the lamp, shut the door, press the remote, then see if the blue light is reflecting from under the door.

Works Amazing! - Real Review
Please read this!! I scrolled through UV-C lights on Amazon for about 2 hours, reading reviews and looking at stats. I ended up landing on this one, due to the price and performance in this price range. Are there more powerful units? Yes. If you are using this for household use you do not need a more powerful unit. I bought this because I was having an allergic reaction to dust mites. I am a very clean person, don’t leave trash out, regularly vacuum/mop ect, even vacuum the couch. Regardless, my skin was reacting and I was ITCHY AS H**L after being home for 30+ minutes. UVC lights at this specific wavelength kill dust mites, viruses, bacteria, DNA ect (any living/flying bug for example) Not only did it work, the OZONE it created also killed any airborne issues and made my house smell amazing. Literally… after airing out the ozone there are ZERO lingering smells. It’s like a newly constructed home. AMAZING! Beware: There ARE dangers. Please read the instructions before using this. Use UV glasses. You cannot look directly at the light, or be in the room with it. This means put on the glasses, plug it in, head for the door or exit and hit the remote (15 mins, 30 mins ect). Looking at the light without proper UVC glasses WILL mess your eyes up. Looking for 2 seconds is like looking at the sun for 20+ seconds . It will also burn your skin or sunburn you. So seriously, plug it in, hit the remote at the door and LEAVE. The ozone it produces smells (almost like an indoor pool that’s overly chlorinated). You are not supposed to breathe this. Once your 15 or 30 mins are up, hold your breath, go in the room and open the windows ect for ventilation. In about 30 minutes, maybe an hour depending on your ventilation, the smell will go away and it will be safe. At this point the germs are DEAD and the smells are GONE. Absolutely amazing. I heard it works for mold, smoke smells ect. although I’m not 100% sure. What I do know is that it not only solved my problem right away, but my house has never smelled so clean and refreshing!! Buy it, trust me. Just be careful and use the proper safety steps.

Ease of use and effective.
This device was very easy to understand and use. Small enough to get into small spaces like a shower stall (dry of course). Its was priced very well.
