Melnor R301 8 Pattern Thumb Control Relaxed Grip Nozzle

I dropped mine and it stopped working correctly. Melnor sent me a replacement and really fast. Well built, well designed. Apart from gardening I use it in screen printing to wash my screens and the jet options are nice and powerful.

The thumb controlled valve on the handle is great! There is a lot of space between the valve and the outlet so after you turn it off there will still be a teaspoon or two of water that will dribble out for a few minutes. After that it is totally dry and no leaking.

I'm 77 and have gone through so many hose nozzles over the years and this is the best one I've ever had. It's amazing and makes watering so easy! No holding the lever down so my hand doesn't get tired. The distance it reaches is great so I can reach plants in the back of the bed. I want to give them to all my gardening friends for Christmas. Great stocking stuffers.

My favorite part of this is the thumb control It's so easy to adjust the level of water you need or to turn it all the way off. Not having to hold a trigger while your watering is so nice. There is one spray setting that's a little off but I don't use that one anyway. It is a quality flaw though. The setting with the most force behind it works well to spray off my deck.

Purchased July 2024, kept in garage when not in use. Estimating that it was used less than 50 times. Attached to wash car in November 2025 and it started spraying water out the side.

So many options for settings, really easy to attach and use, and very good quality materials for being pretty cheap.

I use this on my urban deck garden, and while it looks to be well-made and does not leak, the soaker setting is a deal-breaker for me. I used it often on other faucets I've owned to water my plants, and with several other faucets I've owned, the soaker setting is very gentle. The water sort of bubbles out. But with this faucet, it comes out too strong and sprays all over the place! The strength of the stream disturbs the soil around the roots, and a lot of water goes everywhere but where I want it to.
