So easy to operate.
Used as a wind speed indicator for ground handling training on a paraglider wing. Gave it 5 stars because its worth the money. Lightweight, small and does exactly what it says. Nice piece of kit. 👍👍

Small and lightweight
I've been doing increasingly exposed and windy wild camping in Scotland, and I was curious what sort of wind speeds I was encountering. This seemed like one of the lightest anemometers, and it is compact enough to fit in a typical glasses case for transport (it seems like it's probably a good idea to protect the delicate looking fan). Note that it is necessary to remove the rubber cover (easily done) to access the battery compartment cover! (This clearly shown on the Amazon page for the product, but not on the paper instructions.) Users who want to make more use of the average & max measurement modes might find it a bit annoying to have to click through all the different measurement unit types available first to get to those, but if all you want to do is set say "mph" units once and just get the current reading it couldn't be simpler. Very good value device, perfect for my purposes. Cannot comment on accuracy as I have nothing to calibrate/compare against.

Does what I want from it
Happy with this purchase. It serves my purpose. I’m not sure how accurate it is but it’s good enough for what I want.

DEAD fails to work
I purchased this in September and only needed to use it for the first time in December. It has been kept in its original packaging and box the entire time. Unfortunately, it does not work at all. Even with a brand-new battery installed, it only flashes briefly and then switches off, staying completely dead. The product only comes with a 30-day warranty, so I am now stuck with a faulty fan that has never worked. Very disappointing purchase.

Usable, but with a poor user interface: buy something better
The instructions claim that the "units" selection is restored after power-off. I have set mph but it keeps reverting to ft/min. (This is with a new battery). So I have to keep setting the units at power-on. The instructions are terse and ungrammatical. There is a disclaimer that the specification is not guaranteed and that the manufacturer accepts no responsibility if the unit doesn't do what they say. There is an "average" wind speed option, but no statement of the time constant over which the speed is filtered. There is an indication of temperature (measured by thermistor and claimed to be accurate to 2K). This is of no use to me: I'd have preferred the same LCD space to be used to make wind indications clear. Comically, there is a Beaufort scale which reads up to 12 (hurricane). If the wind reaches force 9, you should already be sheltering.
