This is an additional unit in our system. The most you can get in a system is five units and we wanted six. This unit will not operate by itself...it is an additional part of the system. Love the system. It does a lot more than indicted on-line with gobs of options and after you learn that you must precede the option number with a # it is very easy to program. You can store up to 3000 names!

A quick delivery and a helpful enclosure make this an easy transition. The additional contact number if needed for additional help is a nice touch. My suggestion is to include following in the informational enclosure: charge fully - go to settings - register phone.

Easy to program. Sound quality good. Occasionally calls come through as faxes when they are not. Did not have this problem with set they replaced. I have 6 handsets on this base. Lightweight. Reasonably priced. Don’t have to use a phone battery. Can’t do three way calling which I miss. Long battery life.

The Panasonic Additional Cordless Phone Handset worked perfectly with my existing KX-TGF540 phone system. It was extremely easy to set up and integrate into my current setup. I only use and have Panasonic cordless phones as they are reliable and these phones allow a headset to be used. I have a phone in every room. Recently I built an addition and fortunately Panasonic offers add ons. So,I purchased an additional phone. Perfect. Easy to add onto the main phone.

Got the extra portable and charger to use as a second floor unit. It connected to the base unit after a couple tries, which I expected it to do without issue because it is listed as the unit accessory if you want an additional portable phone. The phone looks and performs exactly the same as the one that came with the base unit-except--- the power contacts on the base of the phone are different than the base unit phone so each phone is married to its own charging cradle. Seems kind of strange. I guess it's no big deal since it works but I would have preferred that I not have to keep track of which phone goes where. Also if I lose the base unit phone how do I replace it, since this one won't sit in the base unit charger. As an accessory that seems kind of important.My base unit is the KX-TG3760. It's one of the bluetooth units that will receive cell phone calls if you link it. Both phones, the original and this second phone work with the link to cell, so I'm happy with that. Update: Actually this is not the phone for my unit. I made a mistake ordering because I wanted black instead of the silver that was offered and this unit number was different. In my defense there are so many similar models it is quite confusing when ordering. Again the only difference is the cradle power pin configuration . On the good side it works flawlessly. The sound on these phones is really good, probably the best I've ever had.The link to cell works really well and is a big plus.I had no trouble linking up an older LG smart phone.

We bought this unit because in our existing Panasonic KX-TGF540 system with four phones, one phone's headset port failed and one base failed to charge after a couple of years of use. We used the purchased phone to replace the phone with the failed headset port seated in the base unit and the purchased base to replace the failed base (which seems to have failed because we unknowingly spilled some liquid into it, which wasn't cleaned up). Both devices have been working fine for a few weeks. We disposed of the failed base unit and use the phone with only the failed headset port as a floater, a fifth phone in a four-base system. To keep it charged, we alternate the fifth phone with another phone in one of the charging bases every few days. We had retained our Panasonic operating instructions, but we could have programmed the purchased phone into our system with the instructions provided by the seller, which I verified were accurate and well written. The product arrived timely and well packaged. The product description and compatibility were as advertised.
