FSP Group Mini ITX Solution/Flex ATX 80 Plus Platinum 500W Pmbus V1.2 High Efficiency Power Supply (FSP500-50FSPT)

This review is for the FSP 500W 80+ Platinum without 6-Pin GPU PCI-E connector. Overall: I am using a 5USD 12V Molex to PCI-E 6-Pin adapter to use this power supply with a GPU. This power supply is awesome. I bought the Athena Power 500W silver before from Newegg and was very disappointed. The Athena is extremly noisy even in idle and geta very hot under load. The FSP instead is extremely silent in Windows 10 idle (Ryzen 2600, GTX 1060 6GB) and only revs up under load. Even under load though the FAN is definitely hearable but is a nice hum with a medium tone frequency. The FSP gets also very warm (not hot) under load. My guess with touching it with my hands is 40 Celsius) but cools down right away after load and the fan will also revv back down to very silent. My main rig is watercooled with a 750W Seasonic Platinum power supply which does not get warm at all. So my main build ia nearly dead silent. Even with that reference I am positively pleased how silent super small builds with mid range components combined with this FSP Flex ATX power supply can be. Would not have been possible a couple yeara back. PROS: Silent Efficient Sturdy casing A lot of power for such a small form factor Much better than the Athena Power 500W silver Cons Very long cables and in general too many SATA and Molex connectors -- an issue when you want to pack it into a small case and have to stuff the cables somewhere No PCI-E output

Works as expected, solved video driver crash as well as malfunctioning sd card reader due to bad psu. Fan IS loud though... even louder than the 730gt gpu fan, which I thought would be impossible. I recommend replacing the fan with something higher quality, if you're willing to void the warranty. It's not the wind noise that bothers me, its the "bad bearing" noise that does. It's a shame considering its higher end price for a 300w psu. Fits inside HP s5-1014, but only catches one screw. Smaller than oem.

I purchased this as a best-available replacement for a Liteon 'PS-5221-8AE' model power supply in my Acer Aspire H340 Home Server. The original part had failed (bad capacitors, dramatic interior damage) and I was unable to find a direct replacement. This item is an exact mechanical fit and there was even a non-ITX screw hole to which I was able to transplant a support bracket salvaged from the failed unit. In order to make it fit electrically I had to repurpose two strings of MOLEX connectors aby splicing them onto an Acer proprietary connector used to power the server's SATA backpanel. Otherwise the PSU was an electrical fit. Some of the other reviews alluded to a noisy 40mm fan in this unit. I have not noticed it any louder or more 'buzzy' than the fan in the unit I replaced. In fact, in my fairly quiet study I need to lean forward and concentrate to hear any fan noise at all. Other than that, what is there to say? It works. It fits. It's quiet. It solved my problem. Too soon to post about reliability but superficailly it seems well put together. Although i had to butcher the wiring the unit came with a good mix of connector suitable for small systems: ATX20+4 main power; 4-pin 12V; 2x Molex; 2x SATA; 4-pin floppy. Literally, standard stuff.

After one year of ownership I can safely say this is not what you're looking for. Yes, it is a power supply and it seems to be a pretty reliable one. The problem is that the fans they use in these are awful. They are loud and they constantly change speed so it becomes very annoying to have your computer in the same room as you when it's on. Even under a low load the fans will spin up for some reason. I recently swapped this one out for the ENP 7660B VK 600W Flex ATX Power Supply sold on Velkase's website. Oh boy, what a difference. Night and day. Even under a heavy gaming load the fan on the ENP 7660B is extremely quiet. Do yourself a favor and skip this one. Go for the ENP 7660B VK 600W instead.

I am Using this for My 6th Jen i5 for 20 Days. no issues so far. I bought this to make a CPU unit which is compact and this power supply helps a lot in doing so. I took out one star since it docent come cheep. you are spending money on a 220 watt supply in which one can buy 750 watt power supply. Over all nice if CPU size matters for you.

Just for anyway worry about wattage my specs are Ryzen 5 3600, RTX 2060, MSI B450i, 16gb 3200mhz, 1tb m.2 Nvme Great little power supply, highly recommend!!!!
