Cold cigars
On receipt of this humidor I found that it was fitted with a US plug and ran on 110V mains. There was no mention of this before I bought it. I had to buy a 240V step down transformer. The lining of the humidor is plastic and there is a distinct plastic smell which did not go when I wiped the interior with distilled water. The smell is much less now but it would be better if it was wood lined. Also, the shelves don't smell like Spanish Cedar. I have Spanish Cedar liners for a non electric humidor and they have a very distinctive scent which the shelves in this humidor don't have. I can't say for certain that they are not Spanish Cedar but I have my doubts. The manual says leave cigars in their boxes. I have three empty cigar boxes and they are all too big to fit in the humidor. The manual also says that the ambient temperature of the room should be at around 25C. If I could control the ambient temperature of my rooms I would not need a temperature controlled humidor. The main reason I bought this was to be able to control the temperature of the cigar storage at night and in the winter when it gets cold. Humidity readings seem to be accurate enough, only 2 degrees out tested with a separate Xikar meter. Strangely, the temperature reading on the Xikar shows as 70F which should mean that the temperature is ideal but the cigars come out cold to the touch. The fan at the rear of the unit only blows out cold air and the shelves and the cigars get cold. Even if you put the cigars at the front of the shelves, they still get cold. It's described in the user manual as a chiller which means that it is intended to chill cigars, not keep them at 70F. I was expecting it to keep cigars at the proper temperature in cold weather, instead it chills them, though I have found that if you leave the light switched on it tends to warm up the shelves. This may be enough, but is not ideal. I would not recommend this humidor unless you live in the US and you like cold cigars, it's probably worth looking around for something this size but without so much plastic and isn't a chiller, and if you're in the UK something compatible with UK mains electrics. 12/10/2025. Further to this review: when I bought and reviewed this humidor the reviews were showing 0 reviews from the UK. Now there is a review showing from a UK customer on 31 March 2025. If I had been able to see this review I would not have bought this humidor since it needs a step down transformer for the UK. Not much point in reviews if they are going to be hidden.

Works only in America
Be aware this product is not designed for the uk market. It comes with an American plug and works only at 120v. You will need to buy an additional step down transformer. Seller does not make this clear. Mine was also delivered badly damaged so have contacted seller for response

I waited two months to write this review. The humidor showed up, and and after unboxing it, I put it into place. Before connecting power I let it air out a bit. I did not notice any off putting orders, but then again my sniffer doesn’t work the best sometimes. After plugging it it, I seasoned it, like I e seasoned traditional humidors, wiped down all the shelves with distilled water, and filled the water bucket with distilled water. I let that “cook” for a little while, while I ordered some Oliva V’s, a humi-care black ice humidifier, and a better hygrometer, because I didn’t trust the one that came with it. In went 2 pie slices of black ice, with the V’s and new hygrometer. And it’s been happily holding 64% ever since. My only regret is not buying the bigger one, this one is good for loose cigars, but trying to get boxes in can be a bit of a bull in a china shop.

Pleasantly surprised by this small humidor - it maintains my cigars at a nice, constant temperature and perfect humidity with the use of a Boveda pack.

Theis 33 L Needone unit is thermoelectric and does a great job regulating, and keeping steady temperatures. I keep it at 69 degrees F and my (3) Hygrometers agree! I love that it is wider (easier access to the back) than some cabinets and therefore the shelves and drawer don't have as much weight on them when pulled out to access the cigars in the back of the unit. It only took 3 days to season and as of now (1 month later) the cedar aroma is very prevalent. I had a little issue with maintaining humidity levels but soon discovered that the surrounding humidity does affect the % in the unit. Since then I stopped using the water reservoir and am staying with 2 way bovida packs. I also love that I can fit 2 full unopened boxes in the bottom drawer and still have both shelves for singles. I have some coronas and a few petite singles, but mostly smoke Churchills so you won't get 250 capacity as stated if you have Churchills. You probably want to keep flavors separate as I have a few flavored cigars unboxed and when I open the door the aroma is very evident. So I assume the cigar flavors would merge if stored in close proximity. Although, that may not be a bad thing! I have an Ann Bully cedar glass top that holds my day to day stock so I don't access this unit often but I really love it!
