It’s not a full blown bench grinder, but it wasn’t marketed to be one. It’s everything it says it is and more really. I can do everything I want to do with it which is mostly polishing and with the small, very rough wheels very messed up. Metal can be cleaned up quite well. I am going to get extensions for the shafts so that I can put a grinding wheel on it too for some light grinding to sharpen scissors and knives that are badly worn. I highly recommend this product.

Product was challenging to assemble simply because the directions did not include that there was a LEFT vs. a RIGHT side for the silver cone shaped ends. I had the sides mixed up & the buffing pads would not stay on. I finally found a video that showed how-to setup & it worked fine. The only other issue, is that I was trying to use it to further polish up some golf clubs that already had a high shine... and the buffing wheels did not shine it up any further. Variable speed is a nice feature. Power seemed fine. Noise level is nonexistent. Good value for the $80+ dollars I paid as I'm sure I'll use it again to shine up golf clubs.

I am using this polisher to clean and polish very nasty vintage sewing machine parts that have decades of oil, lint, nicotine and rust build up. I really like this machine for the ease of use and the power is just right. It is not a bench grinder, but it isn't supposed to be. I use the cleaning wheels I ordered with it and they are a snap to put on the spindles. It does take a while to clean individual parts, but it isn't the fault of the machine, but rather the grime build-up on the pieces. I have built a dust catcher for it because the wheels do disintegrate and make a mess, hence the catcher. There are four brackets and two screws to attach it to a table or piece of plywood, and I recommend this be done because at higher speeds, this machine will dance around. Would I buy this again? Yes, I would. If you want to sharpen lawn mower blades, but a bench grinder because that is not what this is designed to do.

I used this to polish stainless steel flatware ... did an excellent job.. the machine is small, lightweight, and easy to use. I use it right on my kitchen counter top. It does not bounce around. Very stable. Does an excellent job with the polish -- gave everything a mirror finish. Best stainless steel polish is 3M Marine Metal restorer and polish. I even used the machine to take the rust off of a pair of pliers. Did a fantastic job on that too. In the end, I put it in the box, in the back of the closet, ready for the next use 6 months for now.
