Good and Versatile Wireless Headphones
Being a night owl means that pretty much anything you do is going to create noise that disturbs others. Watching a movie is no fun when you have to ride the volume control in order to keep booms from booming--but you'd still like to know what the actors are saying without having to resort to using subtitles. If you're a musician, good luck pounding out those riffs at three in the morning without hearing the wrong type of audience feedback. If you're a music lover, others might not enjoy the fact that you turned your home into a concert hall in order to hear your favorite jam in the next room. (As a side note to apartment dwellers: that surround-sound-subwoofered experience you insist upon? Your neighbors absolutely despise you for it--no matter what time of day it is. Trust me on this.) If you're one of those old-fashioned types who still believes that being considerate toward others is a good idea, these headphones are for you. If your hearing isn't quite what it used to be and cranking the volume just so you can hear much of anything is a way of life, these headphones are for you. If watching television with others means you fight over how loud it is, these headphones are for you. Here's why they're great. For one, the charging base is about as big as your average headphone stand, and it looks nice to boot. You can keep them where they're easy to get to and they won't clutter up your entertainment system. They'll look like they belong there, not like they were just kind of shoved there. Unlike some other charging bases I could mention, there's no fighting with your headphones to make sure they're making proper contact so they'll recharge: you just hang them up and watch for the little red light to turn on. That's it. You can also hook more than one type of device to the base. On mine, I have my television plugged into the optical input, and my guitar multi-effects pedal plugged into the standard stereo jack input. A switch on the back of the base lets me change which device I'd like to use, and when I'm finished I can switch it back again. There's no noticeable audio lag either way, so it works flawlessly. When you consider all the audio devices one can use which have nothing to do with turning on a television, it opens a lot of options. There's an audio passthrough on the base as well. For television usage, what this means is you run your television's audio into the base, then connect your regular sound system to the passthrough. Doing this means you can use your headphones at the same time as others enjoy your soundbar or surround system. If you tend to need (or enjoy) louder volume than your viewing partners do, this ends a lot of fights. If all you want are the headphones, simply keep your regular sound system turned off--you'll still hear everything just fine through the headphones. If you want just your regular sound system, simply leave the headphones turned off. It's not all-or-nothing. While this unit comes with two headphones, you can purchase additional headphones and pair them to the same base. You'll need to use the USB connection on each additional headphone to recharge them (there's only room on the base for two), but it's still a handy way of bringing peace to the rest of the house when there's a slumber party or some other group watching party going on. The thing is, these headphones give you options you wouldn't have had otherwise. The headphones themselves are very comfortable and do a good job at muffling outside noise. You'll likely still hear the important things like a smoke alarm or a knock at the door, but you'll be able to focus on the audio while reducing outside distractions. These headphones have a pronounced bass that can be toned down by engaging the dialogue switch on each unit, which accentuates the vocals while diminishing the sound effects. Volume controls are easy to find, as well. Each ear cup is marked with an "L" or an "R," so you'll know which ear goes to which cup. Once on, it's easy to forget you're wearing them. And since they're wireless, you can get up and refresh your drink or listen to music while cooking dinner--all without fighting cords. These have very good range, so wander around all you want! The comfort and ease of use means you're actually going to use these, even if technology normally tends to frustrate you. Plus they solve so many problems while offering so much flexibility, it's hard to imagine anyone who couldn't use a setup like this. They'd certainly make a good gift, and you'll be able to personally vouch for how amazing they are. Highly recommended!

Worth the money
If you are a little hard of hearing and don't use hearing aids, these headphones are for you! I bought these for the family so that we can enjoy shows together. My teen has sensitive hearing and needs the volume low, and as a result me and my spouse couldn't really hear the dialogue. NOW we can, especially with the "clear audio" setting, which dampens some of the background noise to make the voices clearer. The headphones are comfortable to wear and have a good range within the house. They are also easy to set up, though I did need an adapter since I only had one optical outlet. Nevertheless, they work great. This last part is important... make sure you have the correct connections to your TV to ensure they work. The only thing I cannot address is durability, as I've only had them for a few months. But so far, so good.

Beyond Expectations
From outstanding packaging to performance Avantree delivered. The QR code inside the box cover linked to the best setup video I have seen. A clear and concise step-by-step for setting up the headphones. The process worked flawlessly without having to go through a pairing process that was already done. A true plug in and play! The sound quality is great, and latency is so short it cannot be perceived. The clear voice function works exceedingly well. The range is also exceptional. With a list of great and functional features including long-lasting charge and individual controls for each headset I highly recommend.

TV Headphones with faulty construction
Color: Black; Size: average; Style: TV Headphones Updated Review: Earphones have good audio quality; they are easy to connect and operate, and are competitively priced. The have above average volume, good for people with weak hearing. BUT, they suffer from poor material choice and method of construction... The earphones worked very well and were easy to pair and then use. The BIG problem is that they are very fragile and the plastic between the headband and the earpiece cracks and fails, even after treating them with care. This is not a single unit problem, it is a manufacturing error. The plastic near all connection joints chips and fails. I believe the flexibility of the connection joints (between the headband and the earpieces) have too much flexibility and kink, putting pressure on the plastic material on either side of the joint. The plastic is brittle and of low strength, thus it chips and fails - failure is just a matter of time. I recommend a "no buy". My units were beyond the 2 year warranty when they failed. I contacted the company and they readily agree to replace both earphones. The process was a little complicated (multiple emails and info exchanges required), but they sent new units ar no charge - very good customer support. However, how long will the replacement units last (no apparent change in how they are constructed). I have taped (black electrical tape) the joints between the earpieces and the headband to keep the earpieces from flopping around. I will report back on well this solution works out. MARCH 21, 2026 - ANOTHER REVIEW UPDATE: The replacement Duet Earphones I received via a warranty claim have been working great. The stretchy black plastic electrical tape is holding well (about 4 mos. of daily use). Accordingly, I have upgraded the earphones to 4 stars, based on comfort, sound quality, and warranty service. I also understand, from other more current reviews, that Avantree may have improved on the faulty connection between the headband an the earpiece(s).

Great product...and great customer service
These headphones work great. They were easy to set up and sync. A plastic part broke on one of the units (after 23 months of use) and Avantree promptly replaced it under their two-year warranty. Great customer service.

Poorly designed
I too experienced the headphone breaking where everyone else is reporting they fail. It seems the joints closest to the muffs bind slightly sometimes. When this happens, the plastic in that area of the gap gets "pinched." Then the area eventually, slowly, beaks away and they become unusable. I know this because I only used one of the headphones until it failed. I noted when it failed, how long it took and the subsequential damage that occurred to it. It should be noted even before I observed the first crack, I treated the headphones very carefully, being careful of where I sat them after use and placing them on my head. These were my first ever headphones and I wanted them to last a lot longer than the 3 months they did. With the other headphone I was even more careful. But alas, the crack slowly began to appear. My solution? I used "real" electrical tape over where it began to crack basically taping the hinges so they are covered. I did this to both headphones. Update: one year later and they both still work like this with no further issues. The sound quality is good, but again, these are my first pair and I have nothing to compare them with. Even taping the hinge so it can't move, I noted no difference in fit than before taping them. Not sure why the designer put the hinge there in the first place. It seems its only purpose is to fail. So, my overall recommendation is to keep shopping. These might be decent headphones if it were not for the hinge and pinch point. There are way too many other headphones out there to choses from. Beware, if you do buy these, no matter how careful with these you are, they WILL break. You have been warned...

Sturdy.
We live in a retirment condo with just a wall between our livingroom and the neighbors. We have one tv. One of us is always reading or on the cell phone or listening to music, or maybe napping. We have used headphones for many years. I have hearing loss and these bring the sound to me. I have hearing aids, but this is better. These have excellent sound, have mono and stereo. They are very sturdy. The ear cover is nicely padded and blocks outside noise. I can't tell if my husband is talking to me, himself, the dog or the sports announcer and coaches on the tv. We use the time out signal. The charge lasts a long time. They are very reasonably price. The metal on one silver and the other gold so we know whose is whose. Really good product

Great Headphones for my parents. AWESOME customer service!
I purchased the Avantree Duet headphones in January 2023 for my elderly parents (75+ years old). They love them! My father’s hearing is poor, so these have helped him hear the tv better and keep my mother sane! It’s also allowed my father to sleep sounder, since my mother can watch her shows without waking him. PROS: They are very comfortable. Not heavy on the head. Ears don’t get hot and sweaty. Sound is great! Set up is easy (for me, I’m in my 40s though). DRAWBACKS: The tower charging station is a bit challenging for my parents. The headset units need to be aligned just right to charge properly. The headset controls are a bit small for my parents. The buttons are a bit difficult for them to use and see, but it’s manageable. HOWEVER, these issues seemed to have been rectified with the Avantree Quartet headsets. The volume controls are bigger and more accessible. Charging unit is not a tower but a cradle. CUSTOMER SERVICE is OUTSTANDING! I only know about the Quartet unit because in late January 2024 one of my original duet units stopped working. After going through the online troubleshooting guide (which is easily accessible via Avantree website and on Amazon) I determined the battery would no longer charge. I contacted Avantree customer service and received a response almost immediately. A wonderful lady named Janice helped me and I had a new unit within 10 days, no questions asked and no expense for me. Not even shipping charges! That is amazing. The process was pretty straightforward. Janice was very responsive to my questions, concerns and was with me every step of the way. Even with a follow up email confirming that my new unit was working properly. I would definitely recommend these headphones. I would lean towards the Quartet units though, as I think they better meet my particular needs. Thanks Avantree!
