6 year old LOVES this game
We are homeschoolers and Fridays are game day so we have a lot of educational board games but this is easily the favorite. Very simple rules, fun "twists" and the board design is super fun. The volcano popper is a bit hit. Learning Resources games are top tier quality too, not flimsey boards or pieces. A great way to reinforce/practice basic addition and subtraction.

Learning math while having fun with the whole family
My 6 year old absolutely loves this game. She’s in first grade and working on building her addition and subtraction skills and this makes it way more fun. It’s also fun for the whole family. Even our 4 year old likes it and our 6 year old can help him with the math. It’s a pretty durable and sturdy set so you don’t have to worry too much about it getting broken (as most things do with little kids). Its functionality is perfect for learning math while having fun! The size is about like any other board game. The concept is super cute. If you have a little one in elementary school this is the way to go!

A well made and fun game!
This is an awesome and fun game for my 5 year old son and for us parents. My son is able to practice math without it feeling like it’s “work”. He finds opportunities to play this game with us multiple times a day. The game is of great quality in terms of the pieces and in terms of the design. It’s easy to learn. I highly recommend.

Lots of addition and subtraction practice in a way kids like
I like this game. The game pieces are of a decent quality. We have owned it for well over a year and it still looks nice. Even the box is in good shape. Not because of gentle usage. My kids enjoy playing Math Island, which is most important. It is great practice for addition and subtraction up to 20. For my kid who is barely grasping addition I take the +/- die out of the game and we just work on addition. I would say if you have a kid that absolutely dreads math worksheets, this game is an excellent way to get them doing math problems without feeling overwhelmed. I brought in some blocks, which I feel in the game box, so my math hater can count the blocks if she's not sure how many places she should move. My kids that are good at math find it fun and are practicing adding in their heads, a useful life skill. The game concept is easy enough to understand that my kids mostly play it on their own now. Another benefit. If there is anything that I don't like about the game it is how big the gap between players can be just because of the roll of the dice. If one kid gets 10 plus 10 in a roll and the other gets 10 minus ten, there gets to be a huge gap between players. And the math isn't so fun if you are at the back of the board while someone else is winning. That would be my only "bone to pick," if you will.
