Mesa Tactical SureShell shtogun shell carrier for Mossberg 500/590 (6-Shell, 12-GA)

This thing is a pure BEAST!!! Mounts solid as a rock and doesn't budge under heavy recoil. My mossberg 590 looks zombie ready with this bad boy mounted on the side, and it holds the shells tightly in place thanks to the rubbery gasket type material that's inside each shell compartment. It's fairly easy to install with a few simple tools and some blue loctite. I've run an entire 250 round case of buckshot through the gun with this thing mounted and it's as sturdy as a tree stump. Skip the cheap plastic side saddles and get one of these beasts, you won't regret it. Seller did an excellent job with fast shipping too.

Extremely well designed and very secure installation. A professional product. A bit pricey but you definitely get what you pay for in this case. Definitely recommended simply because of its quality and function. A shell carrier makes it possible grab your home defense shot gun and shot shells at the same time, gun stays safely unloaded but both are together for you at a moments notice. Mine was a 5 minute installation on a Mossberg 500 Chainsaw with no clearance issues at all. The shot shells slide in and out easily and are held in place either way.

The sidesaddle itself is sturdy, in theory easy to install, and holds the shells very securely. The problem that cost this some star is that the included hex key and chicago screws are incredibly delicate during install - DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN THEM. If you do, it can lead to them becoming impossible to remove from your shotgun when you strip the head of the screws. Be *incredibly careful* installing the chicago screws and this thing will last you for life. Hopefully Mesa Tactical can find a better solution or sturdier screws, because this does not appear to be the first time this has happened and the screws themselves are a weird thread pitch that's hard to replace.

In searching for a good side saddle shell holder for my son's Mossy 590 and my 590A1, I found the Tac Star model popping up right away for around $30 or so. In reading about it, it's plastic. Had some concerns of it breaking since it is protruding off the side of the receiver and all. I read reviews and found several mentioning the Mesa Tactical model, so I search for that one. Holy Crap!!! $75!! Seemed like a lot, but I didn't feel like having a shell carrier on a fighting shotgun that could easily break. I decided to try the six shell holder Mesa Tacitcal model. Super solid constuction--you won't break this. Easily goes on the gun. Nice. Holds shells with good friction, plus came with another piece of friction tubing you can install for a snugger grip on your shells. My son is happy with it. He has a SpeedFeed stock on his so he can carry 10 extra rounds on top of the 8+1 the gun holds. I decided to go one step further for my A1. Found the 8 round holder on a different site (botachtactical) for the same price my son paid for the 6 rounder. Free shipping, no tax=NICE. Was a little concerned the 8 rounder may sit too far to the rear and interfere with my thumb getting to the safety. Got it installed, no issues with my thumb and the safety at all. Looks badass. Put 8 rounds of 2 3/4" 00 buck in it. Weight isn't bad at all. Looks badass. Did I mention that? Don't have to worry if I bang it in to something, it's not going to break or budge. Last but not least, if the friction tube that holds the shells in wears out, Mesa Tactical will send you a new one...free. Can't beat that. All in all, high quality for the money. You get what you pay for and we are both 100% satisfied. No matter if you choose the 4, 6, or 8 round model, you will be glad you spent a little more and didn't settle for plastic on this accessory.

Enough good things cannot be said about Mesa Tactical's products. I was previously running the Mesa Tactical side saddle with integral rail on my 590A1. I love the rail, but wanted to move to lower sights. This was the perfect solution. This side saddle allows you to carry 6 shells, brass up or brass down, on the side of your gun. Install is easy, all needed parts and tools are included, as are rubber pads to protect the finish of your gun. Both the machining and the finish of the piece are first rate. You will not be disappointed.

It was a little pain to get it on but after a while I got it on. looks great and feels nice. It's perfect for my magpul setup. I went with the Mesa tactical side saddle because it's well made its not a piece of plastic. Sped the extra couple of bucks

I was hesitant at first to get this shell carrier for my Mossberg 500 due to the higher price versus the cheaper plastic ones.. but i bit the bullet, pun intended :-), and bought it... and I must say WOW!! This is an awesome carrier.. its extremely durable, made out of metal, sleek and matches the color of the Mossberg 500.. If your considering a shell carrier and have no problem spending the extra cash buy this one.. You'll never need another carrier EVER.. (READ the instructions carefully and you can install it just fine..)

Awesome product. The install took 5 minutes max. The chicago screws hold this in place well. I've put about 300 rounds through my mossberg 500 and the carrier is still rock solid. I would recommend ordering a tube of blue loctite or blue permatex with the carrier to save yourself a trip to the hardware store. One drop on each screw while you're installing will keep this thing in place. Although the product is a little pricey it's definitely worth the extra money as it's built out of aluminum and not plastic like some other brands. 10/10.

Very easy to install, well made, and fits my Mossberg 590 Shockeave, Mossberg 590 Security model and my wife's Mossberg 500

Good quality but had to do some fitting because it was stopping the action on my mossberg 500. It would of been fine if it was a tactical 500

Even better quality then he had hopped for. Perfect fit on his shotgun and looks sharp.

Install was simple and holds shells nicely. All aluminum so should last forever
