This is a great book to give to a expecting mom at a baby shower! She will need many stories to read to her baby... and this book has a bunch of good ones! I bought this for my daughter for her baby shower because I know how important books are and they are a true treasure...and creates lasting bonds between mother and baby!

Sturdy book!
From the perspective of a Grandma (from USA) purchasing a book to read to my grandkids... I like many things about the book and I'm only slightly disappointed, mostly because I'm not familiar with many of the rhymes. This would be a total non issue except that some of the very popular ones (in my opinion) were not included (Jack & Jill, Humpty Dumpty, 3 Blind Mice, etc). Maybe there's a logical reason for the exclusion of some of the popular rhymes.🤔 But as far as books go, it's a sturdy hardback book with thick and durable pages. The illustrations are interesting, as they were actually created with thread and needle. So the entire book looks like cross stitch. The print is easy to read. There are many words of "British" origin in most of the rhymes. It's a good read that captures my grandkid's attention and even introduces them some new words that they rarely hear. Note: The "Oranges and Lemons" rhyme is edited to not include the "chopping off of the head til the last man is dead" part.
