I’ve purchased a lot of these nifty RM06 mini-reflex sites from different vendors over the years and they always came with headaches like having adhesive residue smeared all over the lens that would take hours to clean off (without damaging the lens). A few times with these other vendors, I got cheap knock-off sights that some unscrupulous buyers would swap in to the case / box and then return to these sellers, which would then “recycle” by sending to the next customer. So many headaches!! Well, I decided to take a chance on buying this RM06 (improved, 2nd gen model) from Amazon’s direct fulfillment and am VERY pleased. The price was great (very competitive - meaning ‘lower’ cost than many other sellers), it arrived in only a couple days at no extra cost (due to my Amazon Prime membership, which is entirely worth it BTW), and the sight arrived in 100% mint condition with no blemishes or operating problems. I mounted the RM06 on my subgun in minutes of opening the box and was headed off the the range, where everything worked great. This is how optics buying should be! I’ve never had problems with the single battery contact on the Gen 1 RMR06 models - even with the heavy vibration and recoil of large-caliber automatic weapons, but the dual contacts on the Gen 2 model are a great “fail-safe” option to have. All the great features such as the night vision compatible modes, and the automatic and user adjustable LED brightness are all conveyed to the Gen 2 model. I was really pleased to see that the small Bible verse citation is still marked onto the side of the lens housing. Update, April 2019. I’ve purchased yet another RMR06 (Gen 2) via Amazon.com. Same authentic, Trijicon product and top quality at a very competitive price, The glass lens is crystal clear, and arrived completely free of blemishes, smudges, etc.

If you're going to get an RMR for a pisto, get this one. A lot of people go for the RM07 because it's 6.5 MOA dot is about the same size as the front sight dot, however later they end up returning it for this one. The RM09 1.0 MOA dot is not meant for pistols - only buy that one if you're going to put it on a minimalist rifle build. If you can afford a custom cut slide do it. You want this optic to sit as low on the slide as you can. The Glock MOS or the Unity ATOM slides are nice - but they sit several milimeters higher than custom cut slides. That several milimeters adds up to a lot of re-training and resighting. It's just not as intuitive. The red dot allow you to be faster. The 3.25 MOA dot allows you to be more accurate. With practice you can be both fast and accurate with this. If I could I would equip every operator/officer/solider who carries a sidearm with this on a custom-cut slide pistol. Now on to this optic: PROS: -Waterproof with sealing plate. -Manual brightness adjust buttons. -Audible windage/elevation adjustment clicks. -Easy install. -Uses readily available CR2032 watch batteries. -Rugged (but not nigh indestructable); you smack this on a table to rack the slide (pretty hard to boot) and not have to worry about it breaking. You can also drop it without worrying about it breaking. -Long battery life (years). -Trijicon website says 5 year warranty, however lets be honest here; most manufacterers will replace shit even if it's ancient, as long as it's not totally no longer in production. -Comes in a nice case. -Comes with a battery. TYPE 2 ENHANCEMENTS: -Button lockout feature to prevent accidental changes. -Battery saving feature. -Flicker issues resolved. -Auto brightness adjust feature included. CONS: -Expensive, but for the best there is that is to be expected. -Possbily not a con, but slightly smaller viewing window compared to other manufacters, however that is due to it's rugged construction. -Glass is somewhat tinted. Not enough to take a star off. NEUTRAL: -Comes in many colors. -Many mount options. There is a reason these are industry standard. Don't settle for less.

Some of the reviews make this look sketchy. But i see one consistent in them. It was one seller and probably with the best price that was selling the fakes. That seller has been kicked off. I bought mine where the seller is amazon. It came, and passed all of the various "is it a fake" tests. The final, register it with trijicon. Result = Pass! I bought this to replace a vortex that came with my 509, that vortex wouldn't hold a zero to save it's own life. I feel like it was just a bad one, however i needed something i could trust my life with, so i decided to go with the trusted trijicon. It's a pretty neat sight, so far the auto brightness feature is working well for me. It's also kind of a pain to shut the site off, i can imagine it would be impossible if you didn't have a strong enough grip to press both buttons at the same time. It's one solid unit.

I bought a Trijicon RMR Type 2 sold and fulfilled by Amazon prime. It is a great single-plane 1x optic for a pistol. This second gen RMR is smaller than Type 1, and has an improved LED system. I initially put mine on an FN 509. The smaller Type 2 RMR is great for everyday legal CCW. You will not know its there until you use it. I put a second Identical RMR on a GEN 5 M45 9 mm Glock pistol. I found the optic simple to operate, easy to manually adjust to zero, easy to adjust reticle brightness. , and a pleasure to use. Increasing brightness appears to dramatically increase the size of the red dot reticle, dimming the reticle appears to reduce the size of the reticle. On a duty weapon, you will probably want larger than 3.25 MOA, but if you already have the 3.25, adjust the reticle brightness up for a big and bright red dot to make it easy to find the dot when you draw. Acquiring a sight picture with the red dot RMR works best with both eyes open. Just drop the muzzle down as you normally would to find the front sight on the target, and let your dominant eye pick up the red dot in the optic. With your non- dominant eye open you will maximize your peripheral vision and depth perception. The key is Put the dot on the intended point of impact and operate the trigger. Thats it, no need to align front and rear fixed sights. The Type 2 RMR improved the performance of the LED, but consider having a set of suppressorheight tritium phosphor sights on your pistol so, if the battery should fail when need to use your pistol, you can co-witness your fixed sights through the 1x RMR optic. That Trijicon knows the single plane optic is readily apparent when, for example, you see that the RMR obviates the need for hold-over within the effective range of a 9mm or .a 45. pistol. Also, if you are like me, far-sighted and normally need reading glasses to see the front sight of a pistol, you may find as I did that with a 1x RMR optic on a pistol, you can see the front sight fine without need reading glasses. Also, without reading glasses, I can see the red dot in the optic clearly and can see to “co-witness” the fixed sights should the battery loose power.The two attached photographs show silhouette targets that I shot at 15 yards and 75 yards with this RMR mounted on a Gen.5 Glock M45 9 mm pistol. Without a doubt, this optic has greatly improved my marksmanship. Its also a lot of fun to shoot steel targets with, and tighter shot groups on paper targets. I highly recommend the Trijicon RMR Type 2 optic for a handgun. Excellent every-day carry gear. Its made combat tough, too. Its worth the money.

Just what I needed. I’m over 50 now and I have trouble focusing on iron sights and a distant target at the same time, especially in dark environments (even though had night sights). This sight solves my problem. I can see the red dot clearly in any light and at any distance.

The actual red dot sight was missing within the Trijicon black plastic case even thought the delivery was done in a timely manner. Cerakote OD Green option.

Avoid this seller - I received a used unit that didn't include the mounting screws. The adjustment screws had been turned and there were smudges all over the unit.
