Works great***! With an asterisk
This item has good value, functions well, it's a handy size, quite efficient, operates at a good speed (it took about 1:30 minutes to pump 3 gallons out of the can) and has a good capacity! The length is long enough to reach the bottom of a 5 gallon can! However, the can has a filter inside of the spout! That item will have to be removed! However, #2: the pump has a screen inside it's inlet. So, no harm, no foul!

No Issues
Used this once to pump gear oil. Pumped a gallon through it and it worked great. Threw it away after as gear oil is stinky. For the limited use I would not hesitate to buy again.

DOESN’T WORK….OR FIT
AVOID!!! I don’t leave many written reviews but if I can help someone avoid some pain I will. There’s a bunch of other pump options out there so I say try them instead of this. Why??? Well it doesn’t fit on standard gallon containers like it says on the package. Ok well maybe you can still use it but careful not to tip it over. Wrong! I pumped and pumped and pumped. I must have pumped at least 50 times to get an ounce or two of fluid out of the jug. The pump is clearly defective. I’ve used similar pumps and this one is trash. I even took it apart to see if I could find a seal out of place or kinked or something. Everything looked normal but it still doesn’t pump. Lastly even if it would have worked the longer of the 2 tubes still wouldn’t have gotten anywhere near the bottom of my gallon container. TL/DR Doesn’t fit gallon containers like it claims. Even if it did the long tube barely goes 3/4 of the way down into the bottle. Finally the pump didn’t actually work. It barely spits and it definitely doesn’t flow. It would take you a vigorous pumping 30 minutes to clear anything close to a gallon of fluid.

Decent for what it is and the price point
Not bad and it does move liquid quickly and is lightweight. However, the only downside I found was that if the level of liquid is low, it won't pull it up and out. I had left gas in my snowblower from the previous season and when I got toward the bottom of the tank, it wouldn't pull that last bit out. I had to grab the ol' turkey baster. I only used it for the one task and then used it on a couple of solo cups full of water to try to clean it out a bit, so I can speak to it's longevity or battery life. Decent for what it is and the price isn't too bad.

Surprisingly faster than expected
Makes adding gas to my side by side super quick and easy. The gas cap is low and set in and at a weird angle so fueling up used to suck.

Quality
Good product. I use it for miscellaneous projects around the house that should ever come up. It's great to have for a go to tool. I used it for syponing the water out of my water fountain outside. I also used it for taking the water out of a clogged sink I had and it worked excellent. I love the fact that it has a mesh at the entrance to prevent any small pebbles from or materials from going in and blocking the blades from going up. I have had a few before from different manufacturers but this item was my best purchase. The suction is excellent I don't know what the problem is with other people saying about the hose and it being fragile? (it's a light weight pump and NOT a sump pump) It's for household and maybe getting gas out of a gas tank but really it's more for miscellaneous uses around the house and if you act and treat it carelessly then you're abusing it. Great item I bought three more for my sons.

May be unsafe to transfer gasoline or diesel
The Good. 1) Compact and light 2) Uses easily sourced, long lasting size D batteries or AA batteries (alkaline or rechargeable) with included adapter 3) Inexpensive The Bad. 1) Flimsy tubing requires keen attention and careful manipulation to ensure tube opening stays in place during liquid transfer 2) There is no anti-reflux valve which means residual liquid will remain in the tubing after the source tank empties. To avoid the fluid in the tubing from draining back into the source tank, you have to move the tubing above the destination tank while simultaneously shutting off the motor to ensure the fluid flows into the source tank. Tricky and annoying but after a few attempts, you’ll figure it out. The ugly 1) No spark arrester. 2) Tubing lacks static charge proofing 3) No auto shut off for pump motor when source tank empties. I shudder to think what horror would result if the motor overheats, shorts, or static charge releases in the tubing while transferring flammable fluids such as gasoline. Bottom line If you are looking for an electric pump to transfer gasoline or diesel against gravity (ie, source tank is below destination tank), there are other options from established companies designed specifically for this purpose. The other fuel pump options are more expensive, partly because they incorporate necessary safety features. I think this pump is best for light duty transferring of non-flammable fluids such as draining an aquarium. I seriously question whether this pump is safe to transfer flammable fluids such as gasoline or diesel as advertised.

Great buy in a pinch
5 stars for cost vs performance. I know it's cheap and I needed one real fast. I only had enough money on my card to buy this, anything further would have required a trip to the store to load card. With that said, I been using it twice a day since it arrived, the things been a champ. Even forgot it in the rain the first night. I wouldn't recommend that but it seems Unbothered by it. I know it won't last a long time but let's be real here, I spend more then this on breakfast most days so yeah great by.
