Too small per size chart

My mom had knee surgery and needed to wear compression socks for a few weeks. We bought these and ended up throwing them away. They were so tight, that even with three of us trying (mom, me, and her physical therapist) could NOT get it up over her knee, let alone all the way up to her thigh. My mom is tall (5'9) and has long legs BUT she is a very thin person (around 130 lb), with thin calves and thighs, so this was not a matter of size. We got size medium. Maybe large would have worked better, but it would be ridiculous for my thin mom to need a large! What would a larger person like a male use?

Just about the best compression socks I've ever owned. The silicone band around the top of the thigh hi's holds the stockings in place so they do not drop down to your knees. I would heartily recommend to a friend.

After 5 hours of use I take them out because it was way to uncomfortable in the top part and after 5 more hours without using them I have a mark on both legs. Thank you so much for the awful mark that I have for this summer. I'm usually Medium but I order a Large size because they are always extra tight.
