I ordered this Wooden Train Sets for Boys 2-4-7 – 38 Pcs Wood Train Set for Toddlers w/Crane, Bridge & Wooden Train Tracks – Train Toys for 3 Year Old Boys & Girls for my grandson. He had an opportunity to play with a train set at his uncle's house over the holiday and he was entertained for 2 hours. The 38-piece wooden train set is a great toy for my 2-year-old grandson. It has 19 tracks, 3 magnetic trains, a bridge, a bulldozer, and other fun figures. You can mix it with sets from Thomas and Friends, Brio, IKEA, Melissa and Doug, Chuggington, and KidKraft. The magnetic crane is super cool, letting you lift and move stuff on the tracks. The wooden train set is special because it's made from strong, eco-friendly wood. It's safe for kids with its smooth, rounded edges. The natural wood is jazzed up with safe, colorful paints. The pieces are well-made and can handle rough play, perfect for little ones. Bought to expand our imaginarium set someone gifted us. The set we received had a defective piece. If it were a regular flat track piece I would not have cared too much but as the ramp to the bridge, we would not be able to properly use the bridge either. I contacted Kipipol using the contact form on their website and received prompt response. They cannot just send one piece so they sent a whole new set!! It had Amazon packaging so I think it was just reordered and sent to us as gift format. I really like this set to add more fun pieces to our imaginarium set. Also a great starter set as it has many building pieces as well as track. I would suggest this plus and additional track set for expansion. Fit well with imaginarium.

Easy to put together, at first with instructions then by memory. I recommend making a photocopy of the instructions and keep it somewhere in a cabinet for later use as it is simple printer paper, my daughter spilled juice on the original so I was glad I had made a copy. The copy will be nice for when she outgrows it and I want to give away the set. The passenger station's roof broke off when my daughter dropped it but I fixed it with wood glue. I also accidentally stepped on the roof of the train hangar and it split in half, was also able to fix this with wood glue. When I first ordered the set I thought some pieces would have to be kept away from my daughter as they may be a choking hazard but turned out they were all big enough and she quit putting things in her mouth that don't belong in the days following the order anyway. Manufacturer says 3y+ but that all depends on how you supervise the child, their habits and how comfortable you feel with the pieces. I would say this set could be a good stem toy for children as young as 18 months if well supervised and if you put away the light posts and fishes. So if your little one goes nuts for trains then I'd say go for it. Fits wooden Thomas under the tunnel just right but I think higher locomotives like Gordon may not fit but I have not tried. Whole set fits perfectly on standard coffee table. It has many pieces and when my daughter throws it it's a bit of a nightmare to pick up, so if you plan on gifting this for a very small child that doesn't pick up after themselves yet or often throws tantrums and flings their toys all over the place ask the parent first if they would like this toy in their home.
