Ultra Slim External USB 3.0 CD/DVD-RW Writer Burner Player for MacBook Pro Air iMac or Other PC/Laptop

I used this disc player twice and the third time I went to use it (to access old photos on old discs) it stopped working. Plugged it in and it spun up, the light flashed green so I loaded a DVD and that was it. Had to remove my disc with a paper clip. The return window just passed so I said what the h-e double hockey sticks, let me take it apart. The USB cable is simply a mini-usb plugged into the board for the drive and it had come unplugged. I plugged it back in and the drive started working again right away. There are two screws under the rubber feet on one side that have to be removed, then you just pop the top off. If I wasn't the type to take this apart I'd have thrown it out and bought a replacement, albeit of another brand.

Computer had no problem seeing the DVD/RW. The program with the dvd player popped up just fine. We installed the video player program but the video would never play. It gave an error of needing to change video resolution. We downloaded a different program and then the player worked great!

Cables are very cheap as you can get... bend easy and makes unit hard to connect to and work.....find better cables on line or pay more for another cd player package.

Yes, the plug is blue, but it does not have the extra five USB 3 pins and cannot support USB 3.x speeds. That said, you will never get to USB 3.x speeds reading from an optical disk. Two stars docked for false advertising...Picture shows cd drive usb on left, and actual usb 3.0 connector on right (from different product)Aside from that, it has worked for two CD's so far.

So far it is doing what it is supposed to. Our new computer does not come with a CD drive (one of those all in one things), so we needed one to make photo discs with.

After reading several reviews and doing research, I decided on this model and I am very pleased with it. I have a MacBook Pro and I had no trouble using it. I was able to plug it into the USB and watch a movie. I did not have to do anything special. I am very pleased with my purchase and I am happy I didn't spend a fortune.

windows 10 pro kicks it out, but it does have an awfully cheap top cover it feels as if it may come off and cord is short

I played various dvds and cds, burned a dvd movie on W10 and plugged it into my CloudReady ChromeOS usb hub. It read and played VOBs, mp3s, mp4s, etc. No additional actions needed, just Plug n Play.
