Where Oliver Fits [Atkinson, Cale] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Where Oliver Fits Review: My Students Loved This One! - I adore Cale Atkinson's books and illustrations, and Oliver is no different. Oliver is a little puzzle piece just trying to find where he fits. As he tries changing himself in various ways, eventually he realizes that not being himself doesn't make him feel good about fitting in. The illustrations with the personalities of the puzzle pieces and Oliver's ways of changing himself are cute and leave lots for kids to discover. Though the message is obviously stated, it's a powerful one done in a conversational tone to kids and is still a message that is important for them to hear, think about, and discuss. This is a picture book that will appeal to those that feel they are on the outside of a group and who are concerned about fitting in or trying to hone their identity. I hope it will also appeal to those who are bullying/excluding others from a group. Both of which are concerns in classrooms of all ages, so it will make a great read aloud. Kids will also love seeing all of the various puzzle parts come together in a "big picture" double page spread at the end. Review: Great book about belonging - Great book, great message!

Perfect Read Aloud for PK-12
Oliver was an excellent read aloud for the beginning of the school year. While this is a picture book, it could be read appropriately in PK-12 to make the statement that it is more important to be who you are than to fit in with a certain group. Cale Atkinson has never disappointed with his books, themes, illustrations or characters and Oliver was no exception. I will always be on the lookout for more Cale Atkinson. Thank you for this beautiful, profound story!

A Place for Everyone
Have you ever wondered where you fit in? Oliver is a little puzzle piece who is excited to find out where he will fit. As he searches for his perfect place, he discovers that finding out where he belongs is harder than he thought and finds himself alone! This story encourages kids to stay true to themselves and that there’s a place where everyone can fit in.

This is the book I needed when I was a child! Wonderful illustrations lead the reader through a story that's very familiar to many of us - trying to find where we fit. Puzzle pieces are the perfect characters in this whimsical book. The illustrations are gorgeous and simple at the same time, and work together with the words to make a great story for all ages.

Great for counselors!
I use this K-5 in my lessons and even the older kids get into it, especially when I add a blank jigsaw puzzle and have them color their own piece!

"Where Oliver Fits" by Cale Atkinson is an amazing children's book
"Where Oliver Fits" by Cale Atkinson is an amazing children's book. It was delivered in great condition and it is by far my children's favorite book to read. We read it at least 7 times a week, if not more. It's a great book and I even ordered it for the library I work at, because it was so good. It's a must have in your little one's book collection. It arrived in great condition and we couldn't be happier with our all around experience with the book.

Oliver fits on your shelf.
Another great story from Atkinson. His artwork is always fun to look at, and the story is perfectly paced to keep kids attention. Always a plus when a children's book has a good character lesson instilled. This delivers on that front, and yet remains fun enough that it doesn't read like a lecture.

Un excelente libro para niños. Excelentemente ilustrado y la historia es de verdad muy bonita e importante para enseñarle a todos que tenemos un lugar donde encajar por nosotros mismos.

My 8 month old daughters favourite book was Night night Groot, I put this down to the illustrations which were very different in style to the rest of our board books so went on a mission to find more like it. This book is buy the illustrator of night night groot so I snapped it up. It's a nice little story about a jigsaw price trying to fit in, the lengths he goes to and how it makes him feel. The illustrations are colourful and appear to catch the eye. My daughter appears to like it and it can't be solely down to my story reading prowess.

I have had my students create their own puzzle pieces as part of our work around this book. Then we mount the pieces and the book on the bulletin board to share with others. The end result always looks great and the story really supports students in their growth and thinking.
