Citizen Men's Classic Corso Eco-Drive Watch, Chronograph, 12/24 Hour Time, Date, Sapphire Crystal

I have to admit, I bought this watch on sale at Amazon for less than half the list price, and I probably wouldn't have bought it for the current 21 percent off. But as a watch nerd, and now that I own it, I find myself taking it out of my display box and wearing it more often than any of my other non-smart watches. I love the design - both bold and readable at the same time, and with really attractive texture on the watchface and subdials. Moving my wrist causes really interesting changes in the highlights on the face, without affecting the readability. After being used to smartwatches where you have to work a little to read the time, this watch has excellent contrast between the silver hands and the dark green dial. The watch is extremely accurate - I set it in late December and it is still showing the exact time four months later. The eco-drive has kept the watch powered with no effort and only a few days' wear; otherwise the only light source to charge the battery is the lamp on my dresser. The mechanical date window is supposed to follow the months and not need resetting until the year 2100; we'll see how it does at the end of April when it has to skip the 31st. It does appear to be hard to set; I've read the instructions and they are complicated, and I've seen people on Reddit looking for help from others in getting their watch set. Given that, I hope the watch stays charged, and the only time I have to pull the crown before 2100 is for Daylight Saving Time. The watch has an overall quality feel - very heavy, but that's what I want in a watch of this style, with a sapphire crystal that shouldn't scratch at all and a nicely finished case. The band was easy to size and the watch is very comfortable on my wrist. For me, this watch was an impulse buy because of the very low sale price. But if I was in the market for a high-quality dress watch for daily wear, I would give this one serious consideration at its current, higher price.

So far, I am pleased! It's an interesting color (see photos - the dial varies with lighting more than some) and was easy to set. The real test will be time itself: keeping time, not needing battery replacements as advertised, no breaking down... So far, definitely worth the price. Stylish, versatile, nice weight. No regrets!

Beautiful dial -- the subtle texture surrounding the chronograph dials shines through when there's ample ambient sunlight. The sapphire crystal gives it a super clean and polished look. I am scared of buying lower quality crystals from now on. I have always been a leather strap person, but the metal bracelet look on this one is incredible. No doubt I will be buying more metal bracelets in the future. The date and 24 hr function is quite useful on a daily basis. The stopwatch function of the chronograph is slowly growing on me as well -- I use it for productivity purposes and not having to check my phone's screen is a big benefit. (Haven't really used the tachymeter, so can't comment on the utility aspects of that.) One thing for which I have to applaud Citizen is the accuracy. It has been over a month, and the watch has not lost a single minute after the initial synchronization with the iPhone's digital watch. Also, all the hands align perfectly with the hour and minute markings. I have been complimented every time I've worn it in social settings. I'd recommend buying it if this fits within your taste profile.

This watch is really very impressive all things considered. I bought it because my very expensive Omega Sea Dweller died suddenly while traveling and it will be months before I will be in a position to send it in for repair. I am a WIS, must have a watch, and have always been curious about the Citizen ECO-Drive, so now was an ideal opportunity to try one. It is not really fair to compare a $200 watch with a $6,000 one, but since both are chronographs; in terms of form, fit and function they are similar enough. The Citizen, which is quartz based, is expected to be more accurate in absolute terms, although the Omega, with the Co-axial escapement, is very consistent, which mechanical watch people will appreciate. In terms of reliability, I actually own 3 Omegas and this is the first one that has ever given me trouble in over 35 years of daily use. I expect the Citizen will be reliable as well. The Omega is much more heavily constructed with a thicker bracelet, thicker case, heavier crystal, heavier crown, bezel and so forth. The dial and hands are considerably easier to read on the Omega. Functionally the Omega is precise, like you would expect a Swiss watch to be. The pushers click with a definite feel of precision. For example, when the stop watch function is engaged as the large second hand reaches the 12 O'Clock position, the position indicator precisely and instantly clicks to the next count number. On the Citizen by contrast the position indicator lazily comes forward eventually, maybe it takes 5 or 10 seconds to move, but move it does. The hands are thin, though, so all this is hard to see anyway. The crystal is not hazy exactly on the Citizen, but it is not as clear somehow either. Maybe this has something to do with the light gathering function of the ECO-Drive? In terms of convenience, the Citizen ECO-Drive, with the sun powering capability, it takes the cake. This is a very nice watch. It might not measure up in every particular in a head to head comparison to a fine Swiss one, but in terms of practical, every day functionality and value, it more than competes. Highly recommended.

Many years ago in a previous purchase of an expensive watch from Amazon.com, I had received a used and scratched watch. Ever since then, I have been cautious about purchasing any expensive items from Amazon. Fortunately the purchase of the Citizen Corso Eco-drive watch was a welcome change. The watch was received in brand new condition and is performing as expected. The watch has an attractive blue-grey dial, set in a 42mm stainless steel case with an appealing stainless steel bracelet with easy to remove links. Given the watch is solar powered, it doesn’t need replacement battery and is environmentally safer than the watches that require replacement Li-ion batteries. I recommend this watch.

MUY BONITO, FACIL DE AJUSTAR LA TALLA

Die Citizen AT2141-52L habe ich mir selber zu meinem 45 Geburtstag als Nachfolger meiner mittlerweile über 30 Jahre alten Citizen Chronographen Uhr gekauft. Meine alte Citizen hat mich mehr als mein halbes Leben am Handgelenk begleitet und war mir immer ein treuer Zeitmesser gewesen. Am Anfang dieses Jahres über Ostern, war ich in den Niederlanden und in Nord Spanien im Urlaub, in dem mich meine alte Citizen das erste mal im Stich gelassen hat. Sie blieb stehen, nicht weil die Batterie leer war (die neuen Batterien muss man jährlich wechseln, vor 10 Jahren waren das noch 4 bis 5 Jahres Schritte) sondern weil sie einfach so stehen geblieben ist. Vermutlich wirklich eine Alterserscheinung. Am Tag des Rückfluges aus Spanien konnte ich die Uhr mit harten Klopfschlägen wieder zum laufen überreden. Aber leider ist sie mir auf meiner Arbeit wiederholt zwei mal stehen geblieben. Ich schaute mich schon seid über 3 Jahre nach einer Nachfolger Uhr um, es war aber nie die richtig oder optisch passende Uhr für mich dabei. Die folgenden Kriterien stellte ich an die Nachfolger Uhr. - Blaues, dunkelblaues oder blau metallisches Ziffernblatt - Datumsanzeige - auf keimen Fall eine Smartwatch - Nach Möglichkeit eine Automatik- oder ähnliche Batterie freie Antriebe (Seitdem die Batterien auf dieser Welt nichts mehr taugen, hasse ich das Wechseln der Batterie, vor 10 Jahren würde ich auch noch eine Batterie betriebene Uhr nehmen) - Gut lesbar sollte sie sein (ich weiß, viele kritisierten diese Uhr als, je nach Lichtverhältnissen schlecht lesbar, was ich persönlich nicht bestätigen kann) - Sollte nicht zu klobig sein, da die aktuelle Mode bei Heeren Uhren mehr ins klobig optische geht, sollte die neue Uhr sich mehr dazwischen bewegen - Elegantes und auch ein außergewöhnliches aussehen - Metall Armband, darf kein Haar Zieher sein, da ich mir sehr oft durch meine Haar mit den Händen fahren - Optisch sollte es eine Chronographen Uhr werden - Bezahlbar sollte sie auch noch sein So, die Rahmenpunkte standen fest und es musste nicht unbedingt eine Citizen werden. Meine Hauptsuche beschränkte sich zum Schluss doch vorsichtshalber auf die Marke Citizen, einfach allein aus dem Grunde, da mich meine alte Uhr so viele Jahre glücklich gemacht hat. Meine alte Uhr ist nur einmal stehen geblieben, da brachte ich sie zum Uhrmacher, sie wurde zum Hersteller geschickt und kulanter Weise auf Kosten des Hersteller repariert. Hat mich damals 8DM Porto Versicherung gekostet. Danach lief sie bis jetzt durch. Also aus Erfahrung doch lieber ein Original von Citizen. Hab mich auch noch über Citizen Uhren informiert, Citizen baut für viele Mode Marken die Uhrwerke, deswegen wollte ich gleich ein Citizen Original haben. Nun zu der neuen Uhr AT2141-52L Seid einen Halben Jahr habe ich sie im Auge gehabt und mir immer wieder mal angeschaut und mit andern Modellen verglichen, aber auch mit meinem altern Modell. Es konnte für mich wirklich nur dieses Modell werden. Gesagt und auch gekauft. Die Uhr sieht wirklich gut aus und passt absolut gut zu mir. Das Ziffernblatt ist nicht metallic blau, es ist mehr ein Marine blau ins dunkle gehende, aber nicht ins schwarze. Diesen Unterschied sieht man aber erst dann, wenn man das Modell mit schwarzem Ziffernblatt mit diesem nebeneinander gesehen hat. Ja nach Lichtverhältnissen schimmert das Ziffernblatt in anderen blau tönen. Die Datumsanzeige schräg über der 4 musste ich mich erstmals daran gewöhnen, jetzt finde ich es aber nicht schlecht. Was mich anfangs erst etwas störte war die Tatsache, das der Hintergrund der Datumsanzeige weiß ist, bei meinem alten Modell ist der passend zum Ziffernblatt dunkel blau. Mit 45 Jahren und (noch) kein Brillenträger muss ich sagen, der Lesbarkeitsfaktor geht hier ganz klar zum Gunsten der AT2141-52L Uhr. Warum es nur noch Datumsanzeige mit Weißem Hintergrund gibt konnte ich leider nicht herausfinden, ich denke es ist einfach ein Kosten Faktor, nicht für jede Uhr was anders produzieren zu müssen. Das Armband ist wie erwarte einfach nur super und sehr gut und angehen zu tragen. Knöpfe und Einstellrad geordnet wo sie hin gehören und präzise in ihrer Funktion. Das Saphir Glas ist eine positiver Verbesserung zu meinem alten Modell was nur Mineral Glas hatte. Das Armband musste ich mir am Schließer mit ca. 5mm verengen. Ich könnte mir vorstellen, Herren mit einem besonders dickem Handgelenk könnte die Uhr etwas eng am Handgelenk werden. Persönlich mag ich es mehr locker, ich trage die Uhr so locker das ich sich um 180° am Handgelenk drehen kann. Der Verschluss ist gut und macht was er soll. Im Großen und Ganzen bin ich sehr zufrieden mit der AT2141-52L und trage sie sehr gerne. Ob sie auch über 30 Jahr ihren Dienst machen wird, kann ich natürlich nicht sagen. Was ich meine herausgefunden zu haben ist: Die Citizen Eco Drive Uhren sind in Japan gebaut, die Batterie Uhren kommen aus China. Das Armband der AT2141-52L ist Made in China, auf der Uhr selber steht Japan drauf. Ein explizites „Made in Japan“ hab ich nirgends finden können. Interessierte können ja beim Hersteller erfragen, wo die Uhren gefertigt werden. Nachteile der AT2141-52L Wie schon erwähnt, ist die Datumsanzeige auf weißem Hintergrund nicht wirklich ein Nachteil der Lesbarkeit. Was mir persönlich noch besser gefallen würde, wenn es zusätzlich noch ein Modell geben würde, welches goldene Zeiger und Beschriftung hat. Nun gut ist vielleicht nicht gerade die Mode dafür. Was ich etwas blöd finde, ist dass die Stoppuhr nur 1 Stunde misst und die Anzeige für die 24 Stunden ist völlig über. Besser wäre es, die 24 Stunden Anzeige gegen eine 24 Stunde Anzeige der Stopp Uhr zu tauschen, womit man mit der Stoppuhr eine 24 Stunden Messung machen könnt oder alternativ einen vierten Zeiger verbauen. Ich denke aber die Chronographen sind nur reine optische Elemente geworden, denn dies haben fast alles anderen Modelle auch gehabt. Ansonsten bin ich rund um glücklich und zufrieden mit der AT2141-52L.
