Quality Shelving at a Reasonable Price
It took me about 30 minutes to put this shelf unit together. I'm a 77-year-old woman, with multiple disabilities, and it was a snap to assemble. Assembly time included opening the box, removing all the wrapping, putting the small parts in bowls, and the actual assembly of the unit. The problem some people are having is due to not reading the directions if they aren't familiar with how these shelves go together. You need to keep the sets of poles together and not get them mixed up. Lay them out as they come out of the wrapping. While they should be interchangeable, that isn't always the case and there is less likelihood of a problem if you keep each set of four poles together. Screw in the four wheels to one set of 4 poles. With the poles lying on the floor, wheels facing you, decide where you want your first shelf to be. It will cover the black, plastic shelf clips so that should give you an idea of where the shelf will finally rest on the pole. Look for the arrow on a black shelf clip and have it pointed away from you. Line the line on a shelf clip up with a line on the pole and clip it in place. You shouldn't be able to move the clip up or down on the pole if you lined up the clip properly. Attach a matching clip to the one on the pole. Make sure the arrow on the clip faces away from you. The two clips won't totally come together to make it easier to remove them if you decide to change the position of a shelf. That gap won't affect the stability of the shelf. Lay a shelf on its long side with the lip facing you. Feed one of the wheeled poles through a hole on your first shelf so that the wheels are facing you. Push the pole forward until most of the shelf clip is covered by the shelf. Repeat with the other 3 poles. Set the shelf unit up on its 4 wheels. Decide where you want your next shelf and attach the shelf clips by counting lines up or down from a set of double lines. With a second set of clips on the poles lift your next shelf up, with the lip facing the floor, and set it down on the poles so that it covers the second set of clips. Depending on where you want your next shelf to be you may want to screw the next set of poles to your bottom poles before adding another shelf. Screw in a coupler for each pole then screw in the remaining poles. Flip a pole if the pole and coupler give resistance. You can force the pole to screw into the coupler but it is easier to flip the pole and less likely to damage the threads. The rest of the shelves are added like the previous ones. After the last shelf is in place push the pole end caps into the top of the poles and your unit is finished. While these lighter units aren't as sturdy as the commercial units they work great in most home situations. I have similar units that I put together over 20 years ago and they have been heavily loaded and moved many times. Don't let the negative reviews discourage you from purchasing these shelves. I know it is confusing if you haven't put this type of shelf together before, but once you get the hang of how the shelf clips work the shelves assemble really quickly. Even the larger units can be assembled by just one person in about a half hour. If you take the few minutes to learn how the clips work the rest of the assembly is pretty much intuitive. And the result of those few minutes will be versatile shelves that are sturdy and can be moved from room to room. It is really hard to go wrong purchasing these shelves.

Recommend!
Love these shelves! I have purchased two different sizes and love them! Assembly is easy and the functionality is amazing! They are very sturdy and hold more than you expect. They are also lightweight so it’s easy to move around if needed. The height is also ideal. Not too tall and not too short. great for kitchens or bathrooms. Cleaning is a breeze!

Oh yeah.
This shelf is perfect for storing indoor plants! In the first photo, I have a pineapple plant sitting on the second-to-bottom rack, and the shelf holds. The second photo is how it looks when you first open the package. It came on time, with no damage. The assembly is pretty easy, but to make it easier, I suggest asking someone to help. The instructions are mostly images, but are still clear and easy to follow. It's sturdy even if you shake it a bit, and the wheels on the bottom run smoothly and can lock. It does come with tools to attach it to walls, but I placed mine in front of my window. I am very happy with this product!

Love These, BUT Castor Issues 11 months Later!
I bought the AmazonBasics 5-Shelf Shelving Storage Unit on 4'' Wheel Casters. My 1st order was for just one, to see how well it was made. I really liked it, so I bought 5 more. Out of the 6 shelving units I purchased, 3 sets arrived with some damaged/bent parts, but they all looked to have been damaged before they were packaged because the shipping boxes were not damaged. Amazon promptly sent a replacement for the 1st one and then I used the good parts from the damaged unit to replace the damaged parts in the other 2 orders. After all the shelves had been assembled, I returned the "damaged" unit back to Amazon. It all worked out well and I'm very happy with nice looking pantry shelving that roll nicely. Assembly was very easy, as I just handed the boxes to my husband :) He had no problems with assembly, except for the occasional damaged/bent part. He was able to assemble them by himself in about 15 minutes each. UPDATE 08/20/2019: I just found that a castor on one of my shelving units has broken!!!! I went to move it this morning and saw that my shelving unit was leaning. I checked my other 5 units and some of them also have the castors starting to break or bend as well. I have been very careful to not overload these shelving units and I have kept each of the 5 shelves at 60 lbs or less, (28 lbs less per shelf than Amazon's weight limit for moving Shelving Units.) I also have kept the weight of my items on the shelves evenly distributed because I do need to move the Shelving Units occasionally. I am guessing that Amazons weight capacity limits for these shelving units are probably much less than their stated 88 lbs per shelf for wheels that are in motion! Mine are not even handling the 60 lb or less per shelf and I only have 20 lbs on each of the top 2 shelves! I am not too happy right now, as all of my Amazon Shelving units are only 10 to 11 months old! I guess I will need to buy all new castors, OR regulate these to stationary use out in the garage and then buy some better quality rolling shelves for my Pantry use. Such a bummer that these all have failed within a year! UPDATE 10/18/2019: After my last update I did remove all the castors and am now using these shelves out in my garage. They do seem much sturdier without the castors. I have now purchased 2 more of these same shelves with the castors to replace the ones I removed from my pantry. This time though I will only load 30 lbs or less on each shelf. I totally need shelves with the castors for my pantry so I am hoping these shelf units will do better than those last ones. One thing that is important is to be sure that you screw each castor stem ALL THE WAY IN to the base of the legs of the shelves. Some of the castor threaded stems that bent or broke on my shelves my husband had not screwed all the way in!

Good enough
Adequate. Not super heavy duty, but strong enough to hold the 150lbs I needed it for. The size worked great for me too and the price was right.

Sturdy Rack With Adjustable Shelves At An Affordable Price!
This handy shelf is just what I needed to organize my growing number of kitchen appliances and gadgets. It was simple to assemble by myself, and it holds quite a bit on each shelf. One holds my 1000-watt super-sized microwave. Others hold multiple items, including a stand mixer and a blender. For under $50, it's a spectacular deal. Other styles—three and four shelves—are also available and just as simple to assemble. I couldn't be happier with it. A friend told me it makes our kitchen look "professional," and I love that compliment.
