Excellent quality so far, but missing a key element!
Superb mitre / chopsaw, well engineered, satisfying smooth action, dust extraction quite good...overall highly recommended - but there is something missing that is not listed as an accessory. My previous tools of this type have not lasted long, either through tough use, handling or poor quality. Decided to never buy economy tools again unless doing a job where I don't care if a cheapo screwfix own-brand tool gets nicked. This saw is for personal use. As other reviewer's have said it's accurate from out of the box, especially and importantly for vertical blade alignment, and significantly I have not had to adjust it since (it's had to travel twice) and can still cut really accurate joints - very satifying BUT - be aware there is no adjustable depth-stop on this model, so you can't make trench-cuts (if you want a lap-joint, it's great to set a saw up to exactly cut half way through your stock, then when cutting joinery two parts will join perfectly without and final hand tool time. This omission has really annoyed me, I initially thought they had forgot to put it in the box. I did some digging around as I was convinced I had either used one of these saws with a depth stop, or seen one in use. It turns out that the similar GCM8SJL does have an adjustable depth-stop, and the empty thread on this model is, I'm convinced, for this same purpose. Omitted by penny-pinching accountants? Trying to get assistance from Bosch was painful and ultimately unrewarding - they're not interested in offering their customer a complementary accessory. Bosch gave me a link for a third-party spare parts supplier (Miles Tools) only after I had pointed out the part numbers for the GCM8SJL, prior to that they were only interested in spare parts listed for the GCM800SJL which of course does not indicate any device to provide this facility. I have not obtained the depth stop yet (only a few quid's worth of minor components) but will advise on success or otherwise On the whole a excellent piece of kit, but with lacklustre customer support I will keep DeWalt or Makita on my radar for other purchases

Well built and strong
Easy to assemble and well packaged. The tolerances are spot on. When setting it to 45 degrees it actually cuts at 45 degrees. Motor has enough torgue to easy cut through soft wood.

Great mitre saw
Bought this as the force finally left my old Obi Wan Ryobi and it gave up the ghost. A marked step up in class with this saw. Slow start motor and cuts very efficiently and accurately straight out of the box. The whole thing feels like a quality industrial/trade rated machine. Only slightly negative was the lack of a dust bag, but I can make the old Ryobi one fit. I almost looked forward to 2nd fix skirting and architrave work because of this saw. I think I need to get out more...Luke.

Great saw, perfect cut
I have been using this saw for a few months now during the refurbishment of my house and I wonder how I could have been working before without it. Perfect cut, angles perfectly set. The blade has a very clean cut and it is good also for plastic and aluminium, but it tends to ruin a bit the melamine sheets on the upper side. It doesn't have the laser, which would be a nice accessory, but to be fair, after a few times it's easy to place the piece in the correct position. Absolutely recommended, the added quality compared to other cheaper products is definitively worth the price.

Excellent at what it does (incl. trench cutting)
I am new to woodworking esp. around the use of power tools. I wanted a mitre saw to chop timber to build some garage shelves and I wanted a sliding one at that so that I could make use of half lap joints instead of plain butt joints. My first choice was a Makita (and the second an Evolution) but based on the price-feature-brand-past experience etc. settled for this Bosch. I must say this is an excellent machine in every which way and I am fully satisfied with the work I have been able to do with this machine (and then you may ask why 4 stars instead of 5?). Well, I have been dissatisfied with two things a. The manual that came with the machine is of a very poor quality esp. if you are new to machines of this sort and b. The machine is capable of doing trench cuts but the nut that has been provided by Bosch does not help with this. To overcome this limitation I had to improvise...I bought a M5 nut/bolt set (for a pound and bit from ScrewFix) and used that to replace the stock nut and it worked, it is a bit of a hassle to set the correct depth but once set it works flawlessly. Yes, I am able to do dadoing/trench cutting for half laps! So all in all it has been a fantastic purchase. Highly Recommended. [With a request to Bosch to improve the lives of their customers by designing better manuals/instruction and providing a proper adjustable nut that could be used for trench cutting, why waste a feature which is already there and it is hardly going to cost them anything additional to do that]

Excellent Mitre saw - highly recommended
Bought to cut boards for new hardwood floor and skirting. Great ease of use - makes cutting mitred joints a breeze. Extremely useful for all woodworking projects. Worth getting a cheap vacuum cleaner from Aldi/Lidl to collect the sawdust generated via the socket supplied with the saw.

Wow
It does come set from the factory, really easy to use just take out of the box, the only downside I find is it doesn't have lightshade or laser

Lovely smooth operating saw
Fantastic bit of kit. Almost 100% accurate out of the box. But very east to adjust, and once I did that, the 45 degree cut both ways was 100 accurate. Perfect for architrave and the like.
