Best dash cam I've owned
This is the 3rd dash camera I have owned. The first one was a £30 cheap one, it was rubbish. Picture and the sound quality was average (what do you expect for a budget camera!) It would choose at random what it wanted to record and save, so threw it away. I then bought a budget forward and a rear-facing camera (https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B06VW169ZW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1). It was better but the picture quality was awful and the sound of my engine distorted all the sound so playback was painful to watch and listen to. I decided I needed to dig a little deeper in the pockets and buy something decent. This camera didn't let me down. Firstly, the wire is long enough to go all around the trim and get to the cigarette lighter (my previous one wasn't long enough to go to the power supply I wanted to use) Install was easy to do, and I like the way that the power goes in to windscreen holder, rather than the camera (which means you can take the camera out of the car when you park, without worrying about unplugging wires and having them dangling down). This also means you don't need to remove the memory card to save a clip to your computer, as you can just take the camera and plug it into your PC with the additional connector provided. Handy if you are not very good with fiddly mini SD cards or don't have an SD card adaptor to connect to your PC. The picture quality (both forward and rear-facing) is unreal, really cannot fault it at all. Importantly, the sound quality is amazing. (I've uploaded a video clip where I am driving with the roof down and music on) there's no distortion due to the engine or the wind. It's a great piece of kit, and I wish I had invested in a more expensive dash camera ages ago. I also love the fact that if you want to save a particular piece of footage (say a near miss, crash or something of interest) you can just press one button and the camera saves that file to a separate section that will not be overwritten or deleted) It's more expensive than other budget cameras on Amazon, but honestly, it's worth the money. I'm going to buy another one for the wive's car.

Amazing picture quality, premium device & feel.
There are more dash cams then cars now it seems, but all sent created equal! I have had this camera for a little bit now but it's an amazing device. Right from first impressions, premium packaging! Help and support on the outside and social links. It comes shrink wrapped as well for extra security. Once you open it you are greeted with the easy to understand user manual. Plus hints etc. Next you get the camera itself. This comes shipped in a protective foam insert to stop any damage (sensible idea!) And even the camera lenses has an extra protective film to stop and dust or scratches during transport. This model (n2 pro) also has a cabin camera too! This is extremely useful as a parking guard. The image quality is superior to any I have tried before! And can't be beaten. I have taken some screenshots but they don't do justice. You could pick out a number plate miles away! It has a very intuitive menu system allowing for easy set up and I used a 32gb card which worked perfectly but accepts upto 256gb! It doesn't seem to matter if dawn / day / dusk / night. It picks up everything all the time crystal clear! The parking mode is a bonus too, meaning if someone hits or scratches your car you have the proof. Everything has truly been thought about here even down to the mounting cradle which has an inbuilt charger so your not trying to cram cables everywhere just one simple plug and go. I have recommended this to everyone I know and for the price I can't see how they can make them! I'm glad I chose this model and with features like the autolock I'm reassured that even in the case of an accident it will all be stored and more importantly locked! (I tested this by giving it a tap and it works a treat, not too sensitive just right cleaver ey?) Your normal day to day driving is recorded too, but without touching it will automatically write over once the card is full of the non locked items. This means no more sitting there removing redundant files it all done! But keeping the important! You also get a cable to connect it to your computer if you ever need to or simple re I've the microsd and copy from there. I liked the time and date stamp feature however when I cropped the picture I cut these off. But they are there down the bottom center normally! Finally the next piece I want for this is the GPS. Module! That connects in just a simply but then also proves location speed etc. Truly everything has been thought about.

Quite good I suppose
Very good camera for recording the road ahead while driving. It has the programming just right to switch on and off when starting/stopping the vehicle, or if selected, switching between parking mode/driving mode automatically. It's file-saving and recording functions are designed well, no moments are lost (assuming a good quality Samsung memory card is used). All of the essentials work with this camera, it's robust, operates within a huge range of -20 to +70 degrees centigrade. Daytime recording is clear, night recording is adequate - but only while driving when the exposure is adjusted to a lit environment... night recording is poor in parking mode; it records cars going past, but you cannot read number plates - it's grainy and the headlights and brake lights dazzle the over exposed lens. However, wIthout any glare, night recording is fine. With both front and rear cameras working, the power consumption is a little high - I connect a power bank to spare the car battery when using parking mode for lengthy periods, an EasyAcc 20000maH power bank lasts up to 36 hours (with the GPS attachment also connected, bought separately). I've found the rear facing camera to be of little use, it can't see much out of the back window or the sides - the focal point and exposure are set to areas inside the car, so it can only see the passengers/empty seats clearly. A 128GB card records approximately 12 hours safely, so I recommend a 256 GB memory card (not Sandisk apparently). The latest firmware allows recording in a 1-frame-per-second time-lapse mode to save space on smaller capacity cards, at the risk of losing some detail. Speaking of firmware - Vantrue updates it regularly, all you need to do is copy the file to your memory card before inserting it; it installs automatically as soon as you switch the camera on, and conveniently deletes the file when done. To factor in the cost of a 256GB memory card (or two, if you want to keep recording while viewing previous footage) and a portable power bank (again - two, you have to charge one while using the other) you could be adding £200. The internal battery in this camera appears only to act as a giant capacitor to keep functions working for a short period after the power from the car is cut from the ignition.

Well made products from this brand, worth investing
I purchased this dash cam in April 2018, and it has been brilliant ever since. Such a great product to buy and invest in for years to come. It worked flawlessly for nearly five years until about four months ago, when the battery life finally came to an end. When I reached out to customer service via Amazon, the associate was quite funny 🤣 – he didn't quite believe I wanted to fix the cam and replace the battery! Nevertheless, the customer service was fantastic. They responded instantly and provided detailed information on the exact battery type I needed. After purchasing and replacing the battery, the cam is back in action and ready to work for another five years, which is both great value and environmentally efficient. I will review this more and give an update in few years! If you have any issues, drop me a message - happy to help guys! I can't recommend this product and brand enough. Their quality and support have been outstanding—a true win-win situation!

If you want a high quality dash cam, this is it!
I have been wanting a dash cam for some time now but I wanted something discreet and good quality. I came across Vantrue N2 Pro Dual Dash Cam and was blown away at how good this is. Here are my thoughts below: Pros: 1: Packaging is premium and excellent. The Vantrue N2 Pro Dual Dash Cam comes secured in a thick foam insert within the box for maximum protection. Outer packaging is modern and no way making you regret the purchase. 2. Vantrue N2 Pro Dual Dash Cam device is a a solid build quality material. Very robust. 3. The display is clear and just the right size making it unobtrusive. 4. Front lenses and screen come with screen protector film. Remove the lenses film before use. 5. Internal cam has night vision and is very clear. 6. The video quality is so good upto 2560x 1440p making it very clear for video and in no way pixelated thanks to the omnivision OV4689 sensor. In my opinion this is superior to other brands of dash cam using sony 4k sensor. 7. The size of the unit is discrete for what it is. I mounted it below my rear mirror and is no way distracting. Fits well in my ford focus mk2.5 titanium and pretty easy to hide the power cable. 8. The interface is pretty straightforward, nothing complicated. 9. The suction mount is strong, doesn't rattle and more importantly doesn't fall off. Clean your windscreen with an alcohol wipe or similar before using. The suction pad also come protected with a clear film to protect from dust during storage/ packing. 10. In the box you get a car charger and cable also. 11. There is an inbuilt battery which lasts upto about an hour. 12. You can quickly take still images, resolution is about 2mp. 13. There is alot of features e.g. a parking mode using a built in g sensor in case your car is bumped. Cons: 1. I struggled to remove the cam from the mount when attached to the car. It's easy when not stuck on the screen but for some reason I struggle every time. Perhaps I just need more time to get used to it? 2. The buttons when navigating the interface can be a bit cumbersome given where they are positioned. 3. Would be nice if a GPS device was inbuilt. It supports an add on extra. There is no mention if a third party GPS device can be used e.g. Bluetooth version etc... Overall as a video dash cam this is excellent. If you want high quality the Vantrue N2 Pro Dual Dash Cam meets my needs.

Good, but with an asterisk
The first thing is that the holder often does not keep the camera stable and there is not an easy way to make it stable while in the car. You have to carry a set of screwdrivers to tighten it up. The second and more important thing is that its battery degrades and gets ballooned up in time and you have to replace it in about a year and a half. If not replaced, you do not have any recordings as the camera date/time always get reset and newer videos that have older time of recording are not being saved. Not to mention the stress recording (i.e. the hit/crash recording) that just cannot happen as there is no battery.

The camera arrived on time and is excellent quality. It is made of good quality materials ...
The camera arrived on time and is excellent quality. It is made of good quality materials and very compact. Setting up was relatively easy and the instructions were clear although the print is very small and I had to use a magnifying glass to read it. No micro SD card is supplied so you need to get one before it can be used. I opted for a 64GB card which is the maximum the camera can handle. Make sure you get a class 10 card with fast transfer rates. The card must be formatted before it can be used and this is easily done in the camera. I have seen references online that only a 32GB card can be formatted in camera and the larger ones have to be done on a Windows computer but this is not true as my 64GB formatted ok. Picture quality is excellent in daylight and equally good at night. The lens has a very wide field of view which allows for any misalignment of the camera. Alignment is adjusted using the small screen which shows the image from the front camera with a smaller picture from the rear camera superimposed in the top left corner. Each camera can be adjusted independently of each other and is very simple to do. I opted for the GPS version which is an extra that replaces the supplied suction cup mounting with another suction cup mounting that has GPS built in. With this you get the cars speed and position shown on playback together with date, time, and the cars number plate that comes with the basic version. My only gripe is your position is shown as latitude and longitude rather than Town/Street which means you would have to work out your position using a suitable map of your area. The camera can also be switched to a surveillance camera when parked and is triggered by movement close to the car. This is extremely good and not only does it provide car security it provides a better picture from my driveway than I get from my much more expensive camera mounted on the side of my house. I have not had the camera very long so I cannot report on its reliability but from my experience so far I doubt if there will be any problems.

Awful Quality for the price
****UPDATED WITH VIDEO LINK*** I'm very disappointed in the quality from this dashcam. Set on the dual mode (interior and exterior-facing camera), the 1080p quality is pretty poor. The footage lacks any detail (it's sharp, but that's not the same as detail) and it certainly does not look like true 1080p, more like 720p upscaled at the very best. I've also tried the 2.5K quality setting as well as 1080/60p - everything looks awful. The video sample is from daylight, about an hour before sunset on a clear day. Significant macroblocking is in the image which is a sign of very poor encoding. The big issue though is the ability to read a license plate - unless you have absolutely perfect conditions and the car whose plate you need was within about 10ft of the car, either at a standstill or travelling at same speed, the footage will be too messy to read it. If you have a car driving past (for example a dodgy overtake) chances are the camera won't have captured what you need. Without a license plate, most insurers will consider any accidents a SVA (Single Vehicle Accident) meaning your no claims discount will be affected and will cost you more. The positives are that the camera feels and looks premium with a robust mount. However, ultimately a dashcam lives or dies on picture quality and this camera will let you down when you need it. This camera is certainly not worth the money over cheaper models.
