I bought a larger pair of sissors and they work great. For some jobs they were a bit on the large size. So these smaller ones are great, they are as good as the larger pair, easy to use and sharp to get an accurate cut.

If you take pride in your tools, this pair of scissors will surely please even the most fastidious of seamstresses and tailors. They have a soft axis pin, promoting longevity when coupled with a hardened blade metal, a technique used in clocks that are built to last. Two large washers shield the head of the axis pin and its retaining nut. A droplet of machine oil applied to the axis pin and you will experience a cut, with blades so sharp that when encountering the material, you won't feel it slice through. The blades of the scissors are hollow ground, so that only the cutting edges are in contact, and where they engage, the point of contact is truly infinitesimal. Like I said: 'These aren't so much made as engineered.' The finished cut is similar to that of a razor. Owing to the fact that these scissors cut so easily, there is no struggling with double or even quadruple layers, thus one is easily able to steer them along a pattern's cutting line with ease and accuracy. The last thing they will do is to allow the blades to be forced apart, overriding the fabric, as the hollow ground blades act as though a section of tubing, preventing them from flexing. This is a beautiful product, no doubt about it. They are worth six stars, I don't know about five. Safety Hint: Do not run a finger over the blades, they are extremely sharp and do try to get into the habit of closing the scissors when you put them down. Highly recommended and a wonderful gift for any youngster who is starting out in dressmaking or tailoring.

I really only needed the snipper, and I would've paid this price for those those. Getting a good set of scissors was a bonus for me. Both are very sharp & have a nice heft (not cheap-feeling) and have worked very well. I'm keeping the scissors for good fabrics since they're so sharp & I want to keep them that way!
