Excellent mid-range stick and great value
When I was trying to find a replacement for my much-loved (but ancient) Microsoft Sidewinder 3D Pro joystick, I stumbled across an impressively detailed and objective review of the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro on reddit by M0b1u5. That review prompted me to buy it and I found it's everything you could want from a mid-range joystick - solid features, decent quality and great value. If you want proper HOTAS and ultimate quality you should look for more expensive sticks but, for occasional use on flight sims, space sims etc it's got everything you need and nothing you don't. Plus, it's wildly popular so you can find setups to add in to your game which saves you having to define keys etc yourself. Also, it has enough buttons that allow for 'shift +' type functions to double-up (quadruple-up?) the main function keys so you can bind many controls to it. This is VERY useful if you want to use a VR headset (when playing Elite Dangerous for example) because you can't see your keyboard when you wear a headset (no, I hadn't thought of that either...).

A reasonable subsitute for a Tandy joystick
I bought this because I want to play retro computer games (intended for the TRS-80 Color Computer) using an emulator. I can't comment on its usefulness as a flight stick, since I'm not into flight simulators. I'm comparing this stick to the Tandy Deluxe Joystick (use Google Images to see what this is), and using it in place of one. It's a self-centering joystick, that is grasped in the right hand. It feels a little awkward trying to place the stick in a precise place, and it is much less useful for fine/precise work than the old Tandy joystick. It has 12 fire buttons, which is more than enough. The very small throttle control has no usefulness. It's a sturdy, heavyish base. So I plonk it on a chair that has a hard surface and play my game. It works. Of all products being manufactured in the present day, it's the best substitute for a Tandy joystick that I've been able to find. It's reasonable. That's all I can say.

A great starter joystick
For the price this is fantastic. I owned one a few years ago but sold it when I stopped having spare time for flight simming. Lockdown and the release of FS2020, however, has changed all that, so I bought a new one. To be honest, I am just waiting for the Honeycomb Yoke to be back in stock, but I wanted something to keep me going. The joystick is only going to be as good as the sim it's used with and I have to say the combination of the 3D Pro with FS2020 is really good. Plenty of buttons that are pre-mapped to important functions like flaps, elevator trim, etc plus a very useful throttle slider and a hat for changing views. Of course, all of these mappings can be changed in the sim, making it as versatile as possible. Obviously, using a joystick to fly a Cessna is not realistic, but it's a hell of a lot better than using a mouse and gets me 'up in the air'. As a starter joystick, I recommend this above anything else in the same price range.

Excellent quality and functionality
I bought this joystick as a replacement of my old logitech attack 3 joystick and after using it a bit I wished I had upgraded earlier. As expected from logitech, the Extreme 3D Pro offers excellent build quality and value for money. Compared to the quality of other joysticks in this price range I can't understand why you would buy anything else. The joystick offers eleven programmable buttons as well as a trigger, hat stick and throttle control. All the buttons very really solid and the sheer number of them means you can keep your hand near the joystick as opposed to the keyboard for longer. The throttle feels really nice and has a large flap that makes it easier to make more precise movements. The stick itself feels very expensive and works perfectly in games. I know lots of people aren't keen on the yaw function being incorporated into joysticks and I was initially sceptical myself, however I have found it to be very useful and easy to use. Beneath all the buttons the joystick has a very large and heavy base making it very stable. The only downside is that it's only really practical for right handed users so left handed people are probably better off opting for an ambidextrous joystick. Overall, I couldn't recommend this joystick enough and would highly advise choosing it over other models in a similar price range.

Well made!
I purchased this Joysick originally to use with StarCitizen as I was a backer of the game early on. I have owned this joystick for just over 3years now and it still looks and feels brand new. It has not had heavy usage but Im still surprised how well it has held up. The device is plug and play, simply plug it into your device of choice via the usb cable and windows installs the driver for you. Most games that support joystick will work with it straight away or you can easily configure the joystick in the game settings to work or customize controls. The joystick sits nicely on most surfaces due to its wide base and does not move around much as it has rubber feet on the bottom, the joystick itself feels pretty robust. It is all plastic but it feels well mine has lasted this long so I think its fine in that case. The controls are nice and clicky however I do think they feel alittle cheap in places. This is a really great joystick if your thinking of getting your first one or want something that won't brake the bank but if your looking for something very high quality with a flight sim feel I think this might not be for you. However it's still a great product and I would recommend it.

Good budget oriented flight-stick (used for elite-dangerous)
Please bear in mind... I have used this thing for 100+ hours of Elite Dangerous but I have never used any other type of flight-stick. Pro's -All the buttons and triggers feel good and there is a handy "mini D-Pad" on top on the stick. -It's made of plastic but it has a wide base and it's fairly sturdy. It feels like a more expensive product than it is. -The stick can be "twisted" left to right to control Yaw. -You can use any of the 6 buttons at the side as modifiers giving you crazy amounts of binding options. Con's -From time to time the stick doesn't always return to neutral meaning you drift a little to one side. (Fixed by adding generous dead-zones in-game, which also makes the controls feel a bit less responsive) -The "throttle" lever works fine but it feels cheaper than the rest of the stick. -The plastic ridge you rest your hand on while flying does the job, but can get sore for long play sessions. Summary If you want to try playing games with a flight-stick, especially Elite Dangerous, without breaking the bank... This is probably the one you should buy.

Very poor quality now compared to the original 3D PRO from ten years ago.
I had one of these many years ago and it was perfect, after many years of use the buttons had worn out so I decided to purchase another one. Wow was the new one a pile of rubbish. The stick felt lose and would not re-centre, even applying dead zones did nothing for it's performance and somehow it felt so cheap compared to my older 3D PRO. At £57 it really isn't worth the purchase and useless for precision flight simming. I have sent the unit back for a full refund.
