This resurfaced and repaired a disc I bought at a thrift store. I bought a disc for $2 I had almost no hope of working due to the amount of scratches some of which were rather deep. The scratching on the surface of this disc I would put at a 6/10 for severity, you would need concerted effort in order to really scratch it more. However after running the Buff and Repair cycle twice and the clean cycle once it's made my copy of A Knights Tale read flawlessly. Following the instructions is very easy. This device functions very well so far but it's still early days. It cleans the surface of the disc very well. The device is somewhat noisy but that's to be expected. I was hesitant based on how cheap the device is and some other the reviews but I am very much impressed with the product so far.

I purchased this to repair scratched second hand DVDs. Works very well as long as you're realistic. Some DVDs are simply beyond repair and no product on the market will bring them back, but I have successfully used this to restore some pretty scratched DVDs to a playable state. You may have to repeat multiple cycles of the "repair" and "clean" cycles but ultimately this is a great product for repairing DVDs that aren't beyond saving. Note that the set of pads is only rated for up to 50 "cycles" so you may have to buy some of their refill kits if you plan to use this frequently.

In my opinion, worth the $50. I have made 25 un-readable discs readable again so far and have 20 more games and 250 movies to keep doing. Could it be better? Sure, but it works and it was cheaper than some other options. No, it won't take the crease out of a disc, yes I tired. But it will take gross, unreadable scratches out. Is it noisy? Yes, put it on something soft and put a pillow or blanket over (it helps, dont push on the cover!). Does it leave fine scratches? Yes, but the more you buff and clean, the better it will look. Worked on my gamecube games (the small disc), wii games, xbox 360 games, and regular dad's (I haven't tried blueray). Follow the directions and make sure to buff at least twice before using the cleaning step (I found it to read a bit better). Be patient, it's science, not magic. I think that it would be more worth the $50 is if they sent 2 more of each pad and an extra bottle of each solution. I would recommend this over paying $10 per disc at the local game store

Received this today and I started to clean and repair my CD Collection. This works perfect. It cleans each disc automatically and stops when it's completed. I used the the scratch pad a long with the buffer pad and my CD'S are scratch free and sounds excellent.My old CD/DVD cleaner was a plastic piece of junk. This is the best for your CD/DVD Collection. If you love and cherish your CD'S and DVD'S buy this . This is the best and the price was great and fast shipping too from Amazon..

Normally I'm not big on giving reviews. But I need to make an exception in this case. I had a Series CD from MASH, which would play save one episode. I noticed a minor scratch on the surface, not very deep, that I felt may have been the problem. The rest of the DVD worked fine. I searched the internet for a repair and this one came to the top, plus it was on Amazon. I ordered it and when I received it I read the instructions, which were not very in depth. I followed them and saw that there were many circles on the disk. The instructions said this would happen and not to worry. When I attempted to play my DVD, the DVD player would not recognize the entire disk. It could not be read. I even tried placing the DVD in my PC, with the same result. I wrote to the person listed under amazon and he stated I needed to follow the instructions. When I replied I followed them to the letter he wrote back to clean the heads of the DVD player. After doing that the same result. Now I am now having to buy the entire 8th season again to have a fully working set of DVDs. I would not recommend using, or purchasing, this product if you hope to keep you DVD or CD working.

Don't listen to the one star reviews this machine really works and makes yours CDs and DVD look like new again i restored all the CDs that had scratches and they all play great now. But if you have really scratched DVDs and CDs then i suggest you try the JFJ machine hope this machine will work out for you, Good Luck in your disc repairing the noise on this machine is not that loud at all it does not bother me the instructions were very easy to understand, I'm happy with my machine Thanks to the people who invented this machine it saved me money on rebuying discs although I'm planning to rebuy some CDs that were not fixable This machine is durable Thanks Amazon
