Lovely book with brilliant pictures and information is just enough for a 2 year old and a 4 year old and written in sometimes funny verse

Very pleased with book

This book contains rhymes featuring an angel fish, octopus, whale, penguins and lastly a shark. Each page pops up in bright colours and is fun to look at. The whale's tail moves as the book opens and closes, and the penguins dive into the water. My two year old loves opening and closing the book to see them move. His favourite is definitely the shark which opens its jaws wide as you open the page, it is a favourite game of my two boys to dare each other to put their faces into the shark's mouth (which has led to some damage to the shark in our book!). My personal favourite is the octopus which is using its eight arms to tickle its children on the tummy... a great excuse to tickle my own! Each page also has three starfish hidden around the page and under flaps which the little one loves to find. Highly recommended.

Contrary to some other reviews, I thought that this book was interesting, and amusing. However, I noticed that the crab has only eight arms instead of ten. Children would not notice this, but as an ex biology teacher I did. The rhymes are very good, and not too long. I have not yet decided whether to give the book as a present, but I think that I can use it in school. Austria is landlocked, and I think that the pupils need to know about the fantastic range of life in the seas. The 10 and 11 year olds can easily learn a few lines to perform, and illustrate the animals themselves. Small books are ideal for reading with one’s own children, but with a Class of up to 17 pupils the larger books are much better. I might even buy more from the same authors.

The book is in excellent condition. I have loved reading it with the children. It's bright and colourful and the rhyming makes it easier for the children to remember and join in. Each page is a different creature.

This book is an established favourite. Good to get a new copy at a great price and quickly.

I spent months reading The Lion Who Wanted To Love by these authors and my LO loved it. I however was getting bored so thought let's try this. Well I wasn't disappointed. The colours and pictures are big, bright and bold and is just great to look at. The wee poems that go along with them are nice and easy to read and I find myself getting into a wee rhythm when reading it to my LO. Highly recommend it to anyone and I have bought a copy to give to a family members LO as well. I feel exactly the same way towards the other book we bought from them Dinosaurs Galore!. Just what you want in a toddlers book.

The book arrived and had a cut through the front cover and first page (like a pen knife).

Dies ist mein Lieblings-Vorlesebuch. Mittlerweile können die Kids und ich es auswendig und ich rezitiere die Reimverse oft (vor allem im Zoo), aber die Bilder sind so schön, dass das abendliche Vorlesen und Anschauen des Buchs immer noch ein Highlight sind. Wir haben das Buch in diversen Formaten - aber dieses aus Pappe ist definitiv the best (da robust und schön fest - wichtig, wenn man auf dem Rücken liegend vorliest). Sehr liebenswert & empfehlenswert!
