Take a look you will be surprised.
Just to start with I have tried to limit my review to those area's not covered by By Zahid on 1 July 2014 as I think he covers alot of the area's in word which I would have used. When my Naga Epic started to double click every time and navigating became horrible to say the least. I decided to purchase a new mouse. Choice, choices, the two main competitors at that moment were Razer and Logitech, specifically Naga and G600. However being limited in the money department I decided to shop around and came across this mouse, the UtechSmart Venus 16400 DPI gaming mouse. After looking at the reviews on the internet, I decided that at half the price of theG600 and Naga, I would give it a shot. The item came promptly and in surprisingly good packaging for the cost (Not sure, why I was surprised). Opened up to find a premium quality mouse, functional in design and personally better feeling than the Naga, which I previously used. The feel of the surfaces are comfortable and switches feel nice to the touch. The side pad has the same angled keys, as the G600, but the Venus not covered by a full cover like the Logitech. The number keys are easily accessible and the thumb rest is a great design thought. I find with larger hands it is comfortable to play for extended sessions and does not look out of place with the rest of my gaming gear. A few little extra’s I would like to comment on, the DPI switch on the fly is really nice and the different colour on the mouse wheel identifying the profile you are on is a plus within the software. The software needs polishing up a bit graphically, but still does what is required and more than enough profiles for you to tweak. Very happy overall competitor to the G600 directly and better than the Naga in functionality and feel but misses the design and completeness of the synapse software. Will be looking at this brand again for another purchase (hopefully not soon for my mouse). PS Make sure you attach the 3M Strips supplied else your settings will be all wrong and you will not have the correct and intended usage out of this mouse.

Impressive!
Blown away by this mouse! its extremely comfy to use, from the rubber texture down to the ergonomic design, Its therapeutic to use its that nice... at its price point its an incredible buy!, its contenders are close to and over double the price of this! is there a difference in quality? well ive used these high priced contenders and the answer is yes but its marginal and most certainly not 2x better quality!... this is the first item I have purchased from UtechSmart.. and im always a bit wary of buying from new outfits especially budget ones!. but im VERY impressed, the software is fast and does the job, its very simple to use and your up and running in seconds, windows picked the mouse up instantly and used windows drivers with no issue until i installed the utech software... its wonderfully packaged and come with a set of spare feet which i was very pleased to see... the side buttons are grate usual use in the OS also, ive set some of the side buttons to things like copy/paste and show desktop, which is awesome to have at your fingertips, the lower (rear most) buttons are a little harder to get at but you get used to it with time and the nack ive found is to use the tip of your thumb for the front buttons and the joint in your thumb for the rear most buttons... all buttons have a satisfying click to them and you know you have pressed that button, the mouse wheel is nice with a rubber tread running the center of the wheel, it feels substantial and well built, i hear lot of complaints that it doesn't have a left/right clickable wheel but ive never used this feature on any of my other mice that had this feature, i find it cumbersome to use TBH and it irritates me that 2 buttons have been wasted here, so i don't miss this at all, in fact im pleased its not a feature here.. i honestly have nothing bad to say about this mouse, its very.. very nice! if i was to be hyper picky it would be that it has a braided cable which i find heavy and more hassle than there worth IMO, but that's more a industry thing ATM.. braided cables seem to be the in thing for some odd reason but each to there own i guess...... i will and with this... if i was Logitech i would be worried! very worried... because no longer will they be able to sell there overpriced products that are only of average quality.. i will be watching Utech for future products... impressed..... very impressed

A worthy rival to high-end gaming mouse brands
Though the UtechSmart Venus is something of a sensory nightmare with its rough grip, using it only makes it better. My hand was quick to adjust to using the main buttons, scroll wheel, cursor speed settings (brilliantly highlighted by red LEDs), and the number pad on the left hand side. It replaces my Razer Naga MMO mouse easily with greater durability, lighting controls and a much easier to understand software to create macros, keybindings and profiles. Plus, all configurations can be saved as a file, each file having up to 6 Profiles for on-the-fly changing of settings. I'm not technical-minded enough to say how the mouse speed has improved my performance in games, but it has made everything I do with a mouse that much better, thanks to the intuitive speed increase/decrease buttons below the mouse wheel. Should my aim not be true, or if I've misclicked and my camera speed is sluggish, I needn't look away from the screen to find the button and click what I need to get back to the setting I prefer. Still, you can always set mouse speeds on your profiles should the buttons not be adequate. The number pad is the main reason why I bought this, and my old Razer Naga before it. It isn't as deep or clever when it comes to setting up macros as more expensive mice, but key combinations like SHIFT+[1-0] are essential for me in WoW, and it saves a ton of aggrevation with needing to look at the keyboard to find the combo I want and then pull it off with fingers that you wouldn't necessarily attribute to a pianist. As far as I can tell, it does the exact same thing for a fraction of the price of bigger brand mouse manufacturers' products. For a beginner, it's well worth getting, but for people who want to set up more complicated number pad commands and one-shot macros, you may be better off looking elsewhere.

Highly recommended, plus excellent quality & value for money.
I was looking to buy either the Razer Naga or the Logitech G600, but then I chanced upon this mouse and decided to research it a bit. There are many positive reviews out there, and this being about half the price of the other 2, pretty much sealed the deal. Now I've had it for about a month, I love it, easily the best mouse I've had yet. It's easy to program the profiles (of which there are 5), and they remain in the memory of the mouse even if you use it on another computer (there's a small button underneath to cycle through the profiles), and there's pretty much no limit of what type of commands you can store within them. The DPI rating is way over the top, but it's there if you want to use it, although I keep mine less than 5000dpi overall, starting at 1000dpi and increase by 1000dpi for each of the 5dpi settings. I'm primarily using it in conjunction with my Logitiech G13 for playing World of Warcraft, Diablo 3, a few FPS & also Photoshop & Lightroom. Each of those is much easier to use with this mouse, as in addition to all the above, it also fits in the hand very nicely, with easy access to all of those 18 programmable buttons. Each of my profiles are colour coded, so I know exactly which one I'm using, and saving changes to the mouse happens in about 2 seconds. The braided cable is welcome as it reduces the chances of snagging the desk edges, and I also like the little thumb rest on the left side (which is why I eventually chose this over the Redragon Perdition). Even when you receive this mouse, you're immediately impressed by how well packaged & presented it is, and once you get to use it, it only gets better. So, if you want a really great mouse for just about any use, I highly recommend this one. Yes it's a little more expensive than the average mouse, but it's a whole lot of mouse for the money, and almost half the cost of the established brands, and it even uses the same or better quality components inside. It's a no-brainer really :)

The best MMO mouse out there
So I was looking for a gaming mouse with 12 side buttons and choose this one and am I happy? Yes. Overall the feel and quality are great it's functionality is great it does the job in every way imaginable and the price makes it irresistable. I see people complain about the software to change the mouses settings I honestly don't know what they're talking about it allows you to change colour dpi and mouse buttons and set up macros everything a mouse from razer or corsair does it's even nice to look at and i'm using windows 10 which is the operating system people seem to have the most issues of which I have had 0 bar getting used to every setting for each profile. My only negatives would be the side buttons they're great and work fine but are hard to press normally I don't mind but because you have to press with your ring finger and thumb it's hard to control mouse positioning as i'm used to using my second or third finger with my thumb i'm sure i'll get used to it but the combination of using my ring finger with lack of muscle memory or strength with hard buttons is difficult. The top buttons are the most difficult to press as well. Again to do with the side buttons is the position everyones hands are different and hence different lenghts needed for comfortbale side button pressing mine as just too small but ok. It's why the corsair scimitar might be better and the only other mouse i'd buy but I really like the quick fire button at the side. Overall this mouse is a 8/10 - 9/10 it would be a 10 if it had softer buttons and an adjustable slider for side buttons like the corsair mouse.

Almost solid; non functioning button out of the box
my g600 is on its way out (probably well over 3 years old), i was fairly confident i could fix it (just a double click issue) but wanted a back up mouse just in case... saw this and thought it would be a perfect cheap back up box was ugly AF, but ofcourse no bearing on the actual product get it out of the box and it looks surprisingly good quality - comes with a weight box (and adjustable weights) - has a weird (but not necessarily bad) texture (grainy would be the best i could describe it) - cable looks durable so i plug it in... good customisation with decent software - all buttons rebindable - custom sensitivity settings - multiple profiles - full spectrum RGB lighting ... at this point im mightily impressed for a sub £30 mouse, at this point i was going to give it a 5 star (sans life expectancy, because i ofcourse havent had it long enough) except i then hop in a game and immediately notice the 9 on the thumbpad doesnt work (which is one of my most used buttons on my g600 set ups)... i mean its not the end of the world; at its low price its a decent mouse; but if a button doesnt work out of the box im immediately skeptical about build quality; and whilst its conjecture id be extremely surprised if the other buttons lasted very long

Good pick
I was replacing an old Logitech G600 so took a chance on this mouse, and after about a month of using now, I honestly couldn't be happier. Does everything my G600 could do, and is well built. the matte texture takes some getting used to, but after using it for a while it honestly feels a lot better than a smooth plastic mouse. I would definitely recommend at least trying this mouse and see how you get on with it.
