Have ran a few tests on it and it seems to work as described. Good value for money.

This microphone is a great upgrade from a built-in microphone on a DSLR - particularly at the price, which is extremely low considering what you get. It's not without its flaws, hence a 4* not 5* review. The sound is a little lacking in bass (nothing that can't be fixed with a quick EQ curve). It also protrudes about an inch and a half behind the camera, meaning that you can't use the camera's viewfinder while the microphone is attached. It looks like there's another hole that could be used to move the mount, though, which I will try using. As some others have mentioned, my microphone did not come with a battery in the box, even though there's a space for one.

Good sound for what you pay and certainly way better that the camcorder microphone

Surprisingly good quality for the price. Good for anyone using it as a good upgrade from the camera's internal mic, and also as safety audio when on a shoot.
