Delivery very good. This product has completely changed my way of thinking in cutting material. I have always used scissors and different sizes of scissors for one job in the past, However, I used this rotary cutter on cotton fabric which was backed with medium fleece and it was like a hot knife through butter and you do not have to go back and forth with it, just one glide and job done. It was precision and totally clean perfect cut, amazing item. It is comfortable and easy to use and it has an impressive safety feature which retract the disc blade. It feels a quality product and the instructions to change the blade is stated on the back of the package. It comes ready to use. Over the years fingers and hand joints can ache when using scissors, at times my hands ache, but, I think this product may help because you are not constantly using the scissor action with your hand, with this cutter just hold and glide without any effort what so ever. I think for the price you do get a quality product which will save you time and I was impressed with the lack of fraying of my fabric so it was easier to zig-zag etc. with clean edges. I make clothing and bags in particular and have a few rotary cutters so I am compare. This one feels very good in the hand and easily keeps to a straight line even when not using against a straight edge such as a ruler. For the first time today I used this to cut 250msg card as was crafting and it just sliced through with no effort...clean crisp cuts. It is great for cutting fabric too and I will enjoy using this. The only thing I wish is that there was more than one blade supplied with the cutter but that is the same with many of them. I like the fact that by pressing a button on the side the blade stays put whether opening or locking. It definitely cuts Very well and easy to use. So far definitely recommended.

No need to use a lot of pressure it just does the job it was designed to do very well. The safety lock keeps the blade well out of the way whe not in use, it is very positive in it's action. Happy with my purchase.

Works great

Now you think "but we have scissors" and you would be right, they are great for the finer work and odd shapes. This rotary cutter is necessary, like you need these two things! I can cut a pattern out incredibly quickly. If you have a large cutting mat and keep the pattern in place you can easily go around the edges with the cutter. It does straight lines (takes a lil practice and maybe a ruler) and curves. When making masks for example I need to cut through multiple layers. You just sweep straight through it with no issues, just press a lil harder. You will find that scissors can leave jagged edges when doing 8 pieces of cotton, plus the layers tend to move a lil and you don't get exact copies. This thing gets you EXACT copies. If you are going to get two things, look at the video and get those scissors and this. On a side note with Fiskars, they are used across the world by fashion houses that have been round hundreds of years. They know their business. I had an issue with a set of scissors that were 4 years old, they sent me a replacement pair without more than a copy of the receipt. They are fabulous and will be a brand I stick with. For goodness sake do not get cheap scissors it just wastes you time.

My first thought using this for the first time was 'why on earth have I been using scissors all this time?' This is my first rotary cutter so I can't compare it to others, but it is perfect for my needs. I'm a seamstress and do a lot of pattern cutting. I have been pinning my pattern pieces and using scissors but with this I can just spread the fabric out on a large cutting mat, and trace around the edges. I have just saved myself serious time and effort! You squeeze the cutter to release the blade, which may be harder for people with sore hands but still easier than scissors I would imagine. The blade is very sharp at the moment, I'll be interested to see how soon it blunts but after a months wear it's still absolutely fine. I haven't had issue with curves so far but small details do still need to be cut with scissors for acuracy. I chose Fiskars because I have always been very happy with their scissors, so I trust the brand.

Does the job.

Updates oct 23 Not so good with time. Longevity not as good as I thought. The Good :- Price was great, ergonomics are excellent, delivery was was quick. The Bad :- I’ve still given it five stars as the product is great, the blades on the other hand are as over priced as they all seem to be. The Bad updated …. Originally I’d given it a full hand if stars. Something I rarely or never do. I was wrong to have done so. It’s now dangerous as after time the cutter sticks with the blade out even if it’s unlocked. I treat my tools well and use authentic blades. The blade is now tight but still moves against the mat so I’m careful. I expected more as my older handle still works fine. I would like a new one but I don’t feel as if I want to risk another and another etc. just a thought for those who like tools to last. It did year before it slowly demised. I expected more from fiskers as I’ve got quite a few products from them.
