Great Quality, Many Improvements On Previous Design
I have liked the camera so far. I think they made several improvements on their previous model that I used, although some may not be preferred. TLDR; I like it a lot, I would change some things, but they are mostly personal preferences over general user needs. Pros: Camera and microphone quality are great. The initial startup of the camera is a lot more helpful. When you disconnect the camera from the mount, it saves before powering off, so you do not lose the last recorded video. Video clips made are now 5 minutes instead of 20 minutes, and saved to a different folder with a button press or voice command, which makes finding saved moments the intended way easier. With my last camera I would end recordings early to make them easier to distinguish. The buttons are easier to use when driving. It is easier to remove from the mount, since it is just a slide on with no latch mechanism. I wonder if this will hold in an accident, but I am not worried about losing the previous video from it losing power, so it is not a big deal. The phone app is convenient, and I like that the computer app is not needed for convenient video access with computer. Support on Facebook is still very helpful and will do their best to assist you with whatever the issue is. The manual is clearer on some things I asked support about previously, such as if 1 or 5 is the high for the G-Sensor. Cons: In order to get direct file access connecting to the computer, you need to use the USB-C cable that comes with the camera. I just happened to have 3 other cables for other devices, all of which were just black cables, so that was confusing for a bit. I would recommend adding some color to it somewhere to make it more identifiable. Event folder videos will overwrite each other if there is no open recording space. I can see why this is a thing, but also it is risky if you do not move videos off frequently. This is somewhat mitigated by the format reminder, which is new. The camera does not swivel at all. As a plus, you don't have to worry about the angle changing when hitting a button or a bump or another car, but also you cannot change it if something is happening just off camera. It is easy to accidentally set the time wrong when you first set it up without realizing that it uses military time, ie 6PM = 18. It is an embarrassing mistake, but it took me a while to figure out why my dates and times were off. Both: They recommend using one of their SD cards. I used the one I already had with no issues, although I would like if there were an option to add it to the Amazon order, since I didn't realize about theirs until reading the manual. The manual is a bit long, but well written for the most part. The only big change I would make is adding the voice command list in the manual. It references the voice commands, but the list of commands may only be found in the camera menu itself. I figure this may be because the camera may update in the future, and the manual if saved would not update. It includes and adhesive piece for attaching the camera mount, which is good and I did not have it come loose at all. However, wherever you put it is where it will stay indefinitely, so decide well. There are two though, so you get a redo. I would have preferred if the mount were two pieces, so that you may have more than one mount location, but that would also be more expensive. The voice commands are a great addition, since it lets you control the camera with less risk of affecting your driving. Most worked for me and both the camera and remote microphones pick up well, however I could not get a couple voice commands to work ever. Not sure if it is an accent or enunciation thing, but I never got them to work.

Great size and functionality. Highly recommeded.
After I got in an accident recently and found my old webcam completely non-functional (other than recordings of me parking in the garage), I was pissed. I wanted a new webcam that was clear and would clearly indicate that it was recording without being huge and in the way. This was the one I chose. It's small, but has a blinking light that shows it is recording. It makes a tone that indicates it turns on and off when you start and stop your ignition. I can review the footage with the little screen without trying to fiddle with the camera wifi. (I mean who wants to fiddle with the wifi on your camera?, is putting a couple of buttons on the device so hard?) It is clear even though it doesn't have the highest resolution, but in turn, that makes the files smaller and more manageable without a super fast sd card. I highly recommend the E1 Lite, I liked it so much, I even got one for my dad.

Works excellent, no complaints.
This little camera has worked flawlessly so far. No issues and I bought the powered mirror adapter and a short USB-C to supply power for a clean install. The little buttons are a bit of a challenge as they have several functions. Once set, I don't know why anyone would really change them. No issues with the app, it works fine. This is mounted in 2024 Bronco just to the left of the mirror. It does interfere with pushing the sun visor up into the windshield. Not an issue with the camera, it's my location for mounting it in this vehicle.

Great budget minded Dashcam
Installation and setup was a breeze. On glass mouting comes with a protective cover to stick the 3M butyl style tape toh old the camera dock. I purchased the hardwire power adapter that taps into the fuse block which makes power nice and clean. Running power was a challenge for me but that is an issue with my car, not the device. Buttons are easy to reach and being able to push a button to lock a video is a great feature. Wireless connectivity is, okay... Not very stable for pulling videos, but camera is easy enough to remove from window dock and remove the SD card to get those locked files and live video feed is great centering the camera. Window mounted power dock's USB-C power is very loose (or the power plug is too small), but having it tucked into the head liner puts the correct amount of pressure to keep it plugged in and powered. As for performance, took a bit to hone in sensors so it wouldnt go off with smaller pot holes, but I got it to detect when theres a definite jostle. Time lapse feature is nice, quality of image is great in bright and dim lights. Night time sometimes it's hard to make out license plates, but theres enough detail to capture car details. The polarized filter is a MUST. I was able to rotate it just right so there is NO reflection of my dash, just clear images thru the glass.

Perfect for my needs
This is my 3rd Vantrue dashcam. Al have worked perfectly with no issues. The internal batteries on my pas 2 seem to last only 3-4 years. This unit checks all of the boxes for me. I like the small size. It;s invisible behind my rearview mirror. The picture quality is good. And I realy like the iPhone App conectivity.

Great value and high quality. I highly recommend Vantrue!
I saw that ChrisFix used the Vantrue dashcameras on his YouTube channel a couple of times so I bought this one to try since it wasnt very expensive and for the price the quality blew me away. What a great little and simple camera. Perfect for my Volkswagen and keeping me protected for my daily commute. Next one I get will be their flagship model and then maybe I can let my kid put this one in his car.

My 4-Day Verdict: What I Loved and What Frustrated Me About This Dashcam
I’ve been using this dashcam for 4 days now, and overall I’m pretty impressed. It has a clean, minimalist design that looks great and doesn’t draw attention while driving — big plus in my opinion. One thing I really liked is the built-in screen, which lets you adjust settings directly without relying on the app. It also supports voice commands, which is super convenient, and the mobile app is very user-friendly. I even used ChatGPT to help configure it and get the most out of the features. The installation was simple. I did it myself in about 20 minutes, which I think is quite reasonable for my first time setting up a dashcam. The box includes everything needed to hide the wiring neatly, so nothing’s hanging or looking messy. Now, a few things that could be improved: 🔌 The power cable could be a bit longer. I was able to manage with what’s included, but it was a bit tight to hide the wire cleanly all the way through. ⚡️ The camera’s power source uses a cigarette lighter adapter, and in my car (2024 Toyota Corolla), most ports are already USB-C. I made it work, but it would be nice if it included a USB-C option or an adapter. 📱 A bit annoying that to download videos/photos, you have to go to your phone’s WiFi settings, manually connect to the dashcam’s WiFi, and then open the app. It would be much better if the app handled that automatically. 🌙 As for video quality: during the day it looks pretty good, but at night I can’t clearly read license plates of the cars in front of me. I’m assuming it might be due to a setting I missed, so I’ll take the time to go through the options and see if I can improve that. For now, I’m giving it 3 stars, but if I manage to fix the image quality issue, I’ll definitely come back and update this review. Overall, it’s a solid, good-looking and functional dashcam that I’d recommend.

Great first dash cam—compact, reliable, but overly sensitive
This has proven to be an effective first-time dash cam, primarily purchased for the peace of mind it provides while driving in my college town. Upon reviewing the footage, it appears to record adequately, and the hard wire kit I acquired enhances its functionality. I appreciate its self-sufficiency, allowing me to simply start my car and drive without manual intervention. While I have experimented with adjusting the sensitivity settings, it consistently exhibits excessive sensitivity on speed bumps and occasionally on non-bumpy sections of the road. For instance, I can hear the lock sound even when driving on smooth roads. Regardless, it is compact and overall a great first dash cam. When I acquire a new car in the future, I intend to continue using this brand and potentially upgrade to a model with a rear camera. Additionally, I recommend watching ChrisFix for installation tips on these dash cams, as they provide valuable tips!
