Quality product
Whilst rather too soon to evaluate properly, so far I am very impressed with the unit. Very reasonably priced, delivered promptly and well packaged. Instructions clear and helpful and belt/unit easy to position and wear. I've been using this once a day for about ten days now, increasing the intensity levels gradually (I started on 5 and I'm now up to 20). I will now increase to twice a day and increase the intensity as I go although I have to say that 20 seems quite powerful at the moment! (I am not a large person - I am under eight stone and run 8k 5/6 times a week so am therefore reasonably active and fit in the lower half of my body). My main reason for buying this product (I had a Slendertone many years ago when they had lots of pads to attach and this too was a good product) is that with the advancing years I feel that my waist has thickened somewhat and I really cannot see lazy old me going to the gym and/or doing sit-ups/crunches on a long term basis. So far I would honestly say that I am beginning to feel and see an improvement - my abdominal muscles feel tauter and there is certainly a feeling of well-being after a 'session'. As one reviewer said, this is not a 'slimming machine' but if you need help with toning and firming (without the risk of getting utterly bored with indoor exercises) then I do recommend that you consider purchasing the Homefront Slim Pro. Added bonu, of course, is that there are no extras in the way of gels and pads to buy, which makes it even better value! Well, that's my review all done. I'm now off to do my second session!

An effective addition to training
This is an effective product, that can help you sculpt your abdomen and develop a 6 pack, it is not however, magic, and you will have to do a lot of work to supplement this. This product is not a fat burner. What it does is sends electrical impulses to your abdominal muscles, forcing them to spasm, which can help develop your 6 pack. However, everyone has a 6 pack, if these muscles are small, or large, what makes the difference is the amount of fat you have covering them. If you are a man and have over 15-20% body fat, it will be unlikely that your abdominal muscles will show directly, however if they do increase in size, which this product can help with, the area can appear more defined. Also, the more body fat you have covering the area, the less these electrical impulses will get to your muscles. If you are 30-40% or higher, I highly doubt this will have any effect on your muscles, and it would not make much visible difference to someone with that BMI anyway. If you are a really skinny person, you can expect some really impressive results. However, for most people, if you eat right, and combine this product with regular exercise and adequate rest it can really help you get some impressive results. I usually do around 5-6 hours of Cardio a week, running back from work, and around 3-4 hours weight training. I eat a bit more than I should, so I hold around 15% body-fat. I usually do not do much of a core workout as I have injured my back in the past, so I got this to assist in my daily routine, and I am incredibly impressed with the results. It is a very easy to use, and easy to clean product. Just a few drops of water and I am ready to go. One thing is you have to pace yourself. The larger your abdominal muscles get, the higher setting you can take, as the electrical charge is being dissipated over a larger area. Pace yourself! Do not turn it on for the first time, thinking your super fit and turn it up to 40, the highest setting. I did this and it was incredibly painful, I did rip it off before I did any damage but it would not surprise me if you could really hurt yourself by doing this. It took me several weeks of using the belt to get to this level. Start low, you can always turn it up if you can take more. I usually use mine 2-3 times a day now, sometimes when I am doing other things such as housework or even being at work. I usually have it on the high 30's when doing this as it basically does not interrupt me but I can tell I am still getting a real core workout at the same time. When I am lying down doing nothing, I usually blast myself at 40. Bearing in mind I believe that when I started using the belt, having the settings in the mid 20's was all I could take. Over the last few months I have noticed a real difference in my abdomen. The entire area appears much firmer and more defined. When I do core workouts, I have also noticed significant improvement in my core strength as well. Considering how cheap the product is, I really couldn't recommend it highly enough if you use it right. Just don't expect it to magically turn a fat beer gut into a shredded set of abs with no other work required.

Some objective negative points - but overall a great product.
Like so many people here, I was very dubious about how well these work. I am not a huge fan of exercise, though I have been on a diet which has shed a lot of pounds leaving me with a smaller stomach in as long as I can remember. I just wanted an aid which might help tone up what was once full of fat! My verdict is that I am very happy with the product! I felt that the price was too good to be true, but it has worked very well for me so far. Noticably tightness in my stomach, which is now FLAT for the first time in many years - anyway, all of this has been said in previous comments. I have read a lot of negative reviews on here which are based on people having received faulty products - annoying, unfair, but ultimately, it happens, so I thought I would try and level the land by giving some objective negative points not relating to my sales experience. Firstly, the belt is unisex, which is all very well for a lumbering bloke, but if you are a woman (as I am)and you have a smaller waist, the elasticated band is very long. I have to wrap mine tight enough to get it in the correct position, which means only the tiniest bit of velco connecting - that's right, if I lost any more weight I do not think I could fit in it! (I am not tiny by the way, a size 12-14 but with a narrowish waist). I couldn't imagine how the models for the product fare! Once the product is on, I find the velco sometimes uncomfortable, I have to move it around a lot to get it right. Also, the velco 'caves' into my stomach which can feel odd - so you just have to keep readjusting. Furthermore, looking at the velco, it looks like my constant straining on it means it is perishing a little - very worrying for the long term. My only other comment is use on the rest of the body - I have noticed a number of people have flagged this, yet still not answers. I, like everyone else, would like to use this on arms/thighs etc. I tried it on my thights, but I didn't like how it felt - too tight, almost like a tourniquet. I have no idea how on earth you'd put it on your arms with the amount of spare velcro. Does anyone have any ideas? Overall though, a great find.

Abdominal ABS toning belt
Brilliant item. Can work if used regularly. Difficult to put on. Need someone else to help you. The band scrapes against the skin and if worn for long period can leave a mark. If the band was easy to put it it would rated as FIVE STAR

fABBulous!
I've tried a couple of these type of devices in the past, my first device I had to connect up myriad of wires to different pads and then strap each one to my body - I gave up after a few uses because it was such a chore! The second device (Bodi-Tek micro EMS) faired a little longer, but the pads needed replacing once the sticky gel wore off and I was using it on maximum setting but with little sensation. So I thought 3rd time lucky, I'll have one last try and opted for this device from Homefront. I have to say I am extremely impressed so far, no messy pads, gels or trailing wires to worry about just pop the included batteries in, wet the inside rubber surface, strap it round your waste - the sturdy velcrove belt ensures a very firm but comfortable fit, switch the device on and within half a minute your off! There are several programms and levels to choose from, I'm only on power level 9, but find it much more powerful then my last device already! It's fantastic for using when you want an extra work out but need to be doing other things, I find it great for my wasted lunch hour at work or while watching T.V. in the evenings. All in all a great little, well thought out product at a very reasonable price. I find it a great addition to my regular floor workout and so easy to use, I use it daily, sometimes twice!

Excellent value foe money
This product deserves ten stars out of five actually! I bought this more than half a year ago, and have been very happy with it! Great value for money. Works with water, so no mess and no need to buy gels or replacement pads like other products. The elastic belt has stretched out a bit, but because the velcro is cleverly arranged, it does not really bother me. I have been using it every other day or so, and it has toned my midriff big time. I work out, but after gicing birth struggled for two years with toning the lower abs area. Even when sliming down all over, the "pouch" was still there, but this belt has done miracles in toning all the hard-to-reach areas, so no pouch any more. I use it while jogging on my treadmill, and also on rest days. Depending on which area I want to be worked I position it either on upper, mid or lower abs, as well as on oblique. I do wonder whether I could put it somewhere else, like buttocks or arms. I started with level 8 or so on the first program, and now I use level 40 on all of them. After the first couple weeks I noticed how much easier it became to do my regular ab workouts, as muscles strengthened big time. Bottom line: this belt alone is not going to make you "lose weight", but it will tighten and strengthen your core muscles. Main advice: start slow and build it up following the preinstalled programs and increasing the intensity level. Do put plenty of water on your skin and on the suction cups where electrodes are. I do think one day I will buy one of the fancier belts, but mostly because I would like to work several areas of my body at the same time. So far this belt has been more than enough, just wish they made more of these for various body parts.

Shocking Time For Christmas!
I brought the item straight from the the high reviews. Got the item and excited to use it, read the book. Did what it say, wet the area and body too. Level 0 and 1 did nothing but i can pause it on level 1 and i thought okay to myself. Looked at reviews people didn't mention about 0-1 but people said you should start on 10 or something(Above 4 stars rating) so i turned it up on 2, waited and it was shockingly bad, waited for a 5 seconds and i couldn't handled it anymore. Look at the book to see if i did anything wrong. Tried it again at 2 and it was killer ab workout. Looked at the 1 star reviews and notice people had the same problem so its faulty, ordered a second one while returning the other one and now this new one is the same and im just scared to even go on 2. Someone did said skip 2 and go to 5 but people then said it suddenly goes very shocking when it was fine before. Which made me scared to go past 2. So its a ticking bomb. Notice that all of these 1 star reviews with the same problem started on December 2013 and January 2014. They sent out a lot of faulty broken 5 seconds killer workout ab for Christmas time.

Works well so far, quite versatile
Lets see -- I got this belt yesterday, so can't really comment on long-term effects. I'll update this review in a few weeks regarding any progress. What I can comment on is the belt itself, so here goes: I'll start with putting the belt on, since that's a major gripe for most other reviewers. The two elastic straps are long enough to fit any waist, but it does make using it on narrower waists slightly trickier (as the velcro bits are only at the ends of the straps). Only slightly though -- I'm a 31" waist and the straps can be stretched well enough to wrap around and secure the velcros at the front. What's more the outer-facing side of the straps seems to hold the velcro well enough in case you can't reach around. This leads me to using the belt on areas other than the abs. All the marketing materials for this belt claim that it can be used on "other parts that require toning" -- "thighs, arms, chest and many more" to quote the box. What should raise eyebrows right away is chest -- using an electrical pulse stimulator anywhere near your heart or lungs is not a smart idea -- and reading the enclosed Owner's Manual does reveal that the belt should not be placed "across the chest or anywhere close to the heart". This is a bad case of false advertising, if nothing else. Fortunately that's where the lies end, for indeed the belt can be used almost anywhere else. There are *absolutely no instructions* for different muscle groups, and no info whatsover anywhere out there. So what follows is only based on my experiments. See my customer images to see what worked for me. DO NOTE: Due to physiological differences this might not work as well for you. Always test out the electrode placement by moving it around between pulses to find the best spot. I just press my palm over the cradle to hold it, then tap the up arrow to increase intensity (which sends out a pulse) and press the pause button as soon as I feel the effect of the pulse. Pausing, unpausing and changing intensity allows for a fast series of pulses without the need to wait out the off time. -- * THIGHS -- This one's pretty easy for me, at 22" 'round the thigh. The electrodes should be placed roughly mid-way between the hip joint and the knee, with the cradle facing ahead of you and at a roughly 45 degree angle towards the outside. This is where the belt works best, fully contracting the muscle without any unnecessary tingling or numbness. Because my thigh is rather massive the bottom edge of the belt doesn't make contact with my skin, so I need to wrap the straps around my thigh and secure them below the unit to keep it pressed agains the skin. When toning the thigh I find it best to sit on a chair or a wee stool and keep my leg straight and fully relaxed in front of me. Depending on chosen intensity your leg might go completely straight at the knee (duh, that's what flexing thighs does) so walking around can be tricky. * CALVES -- Somewhat trickier, but quite doable too. My calf circ. is approx. 15.5" when relaxed (I blame the everyday cycling). Again, electrodes go roughly mid-way between the knee and the ankle, cradle facing behind you and at a 45 degrees to the inside -- when you flex your calf this is the part that goes all flat. Strapping the belt tight can be quite fun, I usually hold one strap with one hand and wrap the other as tight around the leg as possible (going below the cradle) then hold it and wrap the other end (going above the cradle). With a bit practice this only takes a few seconds and the two strap ends actually meet somewhere at the shin. Here again I like to keep my leg out in front of me and relaxed, as walking around when the calf contracts can be painful (depending on the intensity). * ARMS -- This is probably the trickiest one to pull off. I only used the belt on my upper arms -- for bicep and tricep. My upper arm's 14" when relaxed. Here placement of the electrodes need to be a bit more precise (see below for suggestions), otherwise both muscle groups might receive stimulation (and trying to bend and extend your arm at the same time is not the best idea). This also depends on the thickness of your arm - on thinner arms the pulses might penetrate deeper and stimulate both muscles anyway. Regardless of the chosen muscle strapping on the belt requires a bit of effort, since one arm is almost useless. What I do is place the belt then grab one strap with my teeth and wrap the other one tight as possible (under the cradle), then swap (going above the cradle). Most of the time the two ends don't meet nicely so I just wrap the second strap over the end of the first one and try to attach it wherever I can. Finally I then fold the straps up and over the belt itself to add extra pressure and make it more compact. *** BICEP -- the electrodes should be directly over the ball of the muscle (the thickest part that swells the most as you flex the muscle) and the arm should be bent and relaxed. The pulses make the bicep contract quite a lot, which bends the arm even more. It's best to go along with this as resisting the movement can lead to the muscle tearing. The contraction will feel somewhat strange, different to regular exercise with e.g. dumbells *** TRICEP -- electrodes should be on the outside of the arm, around an inch above the midpoint between the shoulder joint and the elbow (this is the wee ball of a muscle that forms when you flex the tricep). Arm straight and relaxed. Contracting the tricep will straighten your arm even more, just go along with it to avoid injury. -- Now for the belt itself. The material seems durable enough, and the inner side feels smooth when pressed against the skin. The belt seems much smaller than some of the promotional pictures whould lead you to believe (especially the one on the owner's manual!), though not small enough to be an issue. The straps seem to stretch out a little if abused a lot but this doesn't seem like it'll be a serious problem. The control unit works well, and is easy to use and program. The only downside is that programs switch only between the -01 versions, i.e. A-01, B-01, etc. This is good if you're only training your abs, as it remebers your progression and ups the program automatically. However, I use the belt on different muscle groups every day and so far should be using A-02 on every group (only my second day). However, if I finish my abs on A-02 it ups it to A-03 next time, and there is no way to go back down to A-02 for e.g. my thighs. So I have to switch off the unit manually a minute before the program ends to remain on the same setting, and only let it finish on its own for the last muscle group.
