I like this better than the F. Dick version. It looks nice, it’s heavy and stable and produces a quick and serviceable edge with a few strokes. This won’t replace a ceramic whetstone from Shapton, or a Tormek, but it does the job for everyday use for generic and German steel knives. It hones and sharpens (removes steel) and creates a serviceable toothy edge for everyday cooking. An indispensable tool in any kitchen that likes its knives sharp and doesn’t want to invest in a drawerful of mostly useless sharpeners!

Very easy to use and the knife stay sharp all the time using the honing function. Also very easy to misuse. Read the instructions and watch videos online to get use to it. It is all about the pressure, the angle and how straight you can pull the knife. It gets scarily sharp.

I love this product so much, I'm buying a few more and giving them out as Christmas gifts. It's great.
