Buckingham Easywipe Bottom Wiper

I made the mistake of buying a cheaper competitor device first. It worked well initially but, after only a couple of weeks, the spring on the push button failed, such that you had to re-allign the button manually before it would depress correctly. Some weeks after that, the rubber around the handle and around the bulb began to come away from the body of the device. Though still usable, it ended up as quite a manual exercise, which was potentially messy and defeated the object. It lasted approximately 8 months. I odered the Buckingham as a replacmeent and it was obvioous immediately that it was a superior product. It feels much more substantial and works more smoothly. The finish is better and the rubber coatings appear much thicker and more substantial. I've used it for about 6 weeks now and it still works as well as it did on day 1. Very pleased!

I bought this having been in hospital for 6 months. I've now had this gadget for almost two weeks and this is what I've found. Four pieces of loo roll is optimum. It can get stuck to the blue end. The button press does not release unless the loo paper is unravelled down to the last bit. Bit of a performance if I'm honest but it has given me back my dignity and I'd now be lost without it. I have found that it is possible to use a wet wipe with the gadget too. I use Comfy Life wipes folded in half lengthwise. Again it unravels once used but then I pop it in the bin. Hope this helps others.

Having tried a few I can honestly say that the Buckingham Easywipe is only tool for the job and I've had four of them now. However, the soft blue plastic parts do have a tendency break up and fall apart within a year or so of purchase, as does the zipped case. But, as you can see, that hasn’t stopped me from buying them, they’re that good.

Reduced to 1 star due to cheap materials. See edit below. This is great if you have mobility issues and want to remain independent. My only criticism is that the push button, on the handle, makes it a little difficult to hold. It would be good to have the option to not have that facility. I don't use the release, because I like to see the paper to make sure that I'm clean. UPDATE: The push button broke off after only 20 months of light use. The one this replaced was 12 years old and only the rubbery parts were beginning to be worn/perished. The latest design is not fit for purpose and, in legal terms, I should at least get a percentage of its value back. Unfortunately, Buckingham Healthcare has ghosted me and are failing in their lawful duty. I have bought a new wiper at a third of the cost, so if it breaks it won't be too onerous to replace. However, the new cheaper one seems to be more robust. Only time will tell.

Not exactly what I needed and not as easy to use as first thought. It's ok in an emergency situation for disabled people

As I’ve had multiple spinal operations, with the last one I had to have rods from the top of my spine down to the bottom of spine, leaving me unable to bend which made the after care of toileting impossible, so therefore this tool is is excellent to help me wipe as I’m unable to do it myself, this is a tool I’m unable to live without.

I'm not sure if its for me. I have arthritis and this appears not to function well. I am unable to use it to its full potential. Perhaps with practice but it does appear far too long. Paper of different types have been used and baby wipes but they do not stay in the recess provided offering a very unsatisfactory end to the use. What a wonderful subject - Sadly it has made me more ready to continue with my own way. Mobility product of expensive price that does not conform to what it says it does is of no use at all. it appears to be the only one of mid range price and quality in the whole kingdom of the Web. The next one up is about £150. and doesn't appear to be of any more use by its size shape and textures. Come on its not rocket science - I am a retired senior nurse and am ashamed at how many products are available with poor reviews- this is one of them. Don't buy it , you will be very disappointed.

Other people have 'disliked' this product. As far as I am concerned it is very good at what it is designed to do. You cannot expect a 'miracle' handle to suit everyone, so you must make certain allowances. I find them very well made. I have purchased another 2; with my first one lasting over 5 years!

L'hygiène rigoureuse de cette partie très intime du corps est encore plus nécessaire pour une femme que pour un homme. Rester assise de longues heures favorise la macération et pour peu que la difficulté de mouvements se double d'une difficulté à se pencher en avant et cette opération, intime s'il en est, vous échappe ou vous met en danger. Il n'est pas agréable d'avoir toujours besoin des autres dans cette situation et le risque infectieux est grand pour les femmes mettant en péril y compris les reins si l'infection se propage. Certes il faut un temps d'accoutumance à l'objet mais après quelques manipulations on y arrive très bien toute seule. Il n'est pas nécessaire que tous les ennuis du monde tombent sur la même personne c'est aussi pourquoi j'ai décidé d'en faire la critique, il n'est pas commode de parler sans biaiser de ces choses là. Voilà c'est fait et donc pour résumer: utile aux deux sexes qui ont du mal à se pencher et indispensable aux femmes de part leur anatomie. Excellent produit.
