Not written with the reader in mind
A lot of technical information which is a big step up from the foundation level. The book does not appear to have been proofread and really the RSGB need to do better and many of the formulae leave you looking for further advice as they are not expanded correctly.There are lots of areas that refer to technical aspects of radio and electronics but the author then goes onto state that you don't need to know about them until you take the full licence - but he wastes time explaining them anyway.I would be surprised if anyone would be prepared to take the intermediate exam if they relied solely on this book.If you are an electronics nerd then you'll probably take this book as easy reading however, if you are looking for a resource to help to take you from foundation level to the next stage of UK amateur radio operations then I'd suggest that you use this as reference material and find a better quality publication or a training course that is aimed at 'non experts' and is in plain English.Good luck.

Intermediate Amateur Radio license book - worth every penny.
Bought this together with the foundation book. Just passed both exams and this book is one of the reasons (along with a great instructor). Covers all of the topics you need, clearly written and assumes you know nothing.
