Earlier I used IPad + MacBook with external monitors/keyboard/mouse, so this setup is definitely different. First impression: Interior and keyboard looks sturdy and premium, but the exterior looks cheap, very cheap(carbon fiber). keys are decent, no complaints. Definitely adds some weight to the IPad, but expected. Usability: There is a learning curve, so initially I was expecting the experience of a macbook(I’m biased), but it’s not the keyboard’s issue, it’s the IpadOS’s issue. You will get used to it soon. Shortcuts works perfectly. No setup required, just connect Bluetooth and start using. Features: I don’t use backlight a lot, at least not RGB, use white backlight rarely, but it’s a nice add, again no problem here. Trackpad is good, again not so good experience because of IpadOS, so hopefully I will get used to it. Charge lasts for days, so no worries there, bluetooth connection is good as well. Negatives: There was once, randomly the keyboard stopped working, I was planning to return the product, but it never happened again, not sure why that happened. No passthrough charging. Finally, This is a good product functionally, I just don’t like the exterior so much. But it definitely helps using IPad better, so will suggest it for anyone looking for alternative for magic keyboard.

I purchased this for my IPad Air 5th Gen. Getting to the point: Pros: 1. Extremely well built quality. Quite comparable to the original apple product. 2. Packaging is very good and unboxing experience is very satisfying. 3. Magnets that hold the IPad and close the case are super strong and thus your IPad is safe in it. 4. Bluetooth pairing takes only a few seconds and you start immediately. 5. Trackpad is very responsive and keypad is super smooth. Works great while you are writing mails etc. 6. It has additional rows of shortcut Functions keys which even the original does not have. Cons: 1. It has a switch On/Off unlike original that switches ON, on opening the lid. 2. The case needs to be charged separately unlike original which gets charged from the IPad. I recommend you go for it and save a lot of money as the Cons mentioned are no deal breakers.

I bought the carbon black typecase keyboard and turns out its fantastic. Its slightly scratch resistant owing to its slightly rugged texture and looks premium. The magnets are also very good and helps firmly hold the Apple pencil. The build feels quite premium, and the batter life is also amazing, as it lasts for many days (normal use) on a single charge. I don't think one needs to spend a fortune on an Apple keyboard, when Typecase keyboards are around. Connecting your ipad to the Typecase keyboard is through Bluetooth and very easy. The backlit keyboard has various colors which can be easily adjusted at the flick of a button. I loved Typing on the keyboard, since the keys also feel very good. There is no lag between the typing on keyboard with the inputs in iPad. All in all, it was quite a worthy buy. If you're looking for a worthy keyboard for your iPad, i dont think you need to look any further. Typecase is a no brainer.
