Better quality than expected for 1/2 the price of the leading brand. It's nice and long, sturdy, keys work easily. Note that this is a bulky chain but that's why you are buying it. I trust my bike when I need to walk away and out of sight. That is all I need to say.

This bike lock is very good! As somebody who's new to the whole bike world, finding a lock and what would prevent theft was pretty difficult. One thing to understand if you're in the same boat I was, don't buy cheap locks. Don't buy weak locks either! Chain locks are probably one of the best you can get, unless you plan on getting those anti-angle grinder locks that cost easily half the price of your bike, these heavy-duty chain locks work very well! It's less about how easy it is to break into, but rather how good of a deterrent it can be. When a thief is carrying around some bolt cutters, he's going to be looking for the easiest lock to cut through. He won't spend 4+ minutes gnawing away at your 0.33" chain lock just to get your bike, especially at the risk of getting the police called on him. If you live in a busy city like Chicago, New York, or London, you're definitely gonna need some more serious security. For me, this lock is perfect. I use my bike to commute around my city. I live in a populated area that has a decent amount of crime, just outside of Detroit, sort of known for theft. I leave my bike outside the gym (nobody wants to steal a bike from a gym, let's be honest) for about an hour, and it's completely fine. I'll go shopping at my local grocery store for about 15 minutes and it's completely fine. If you're in a similar situation to me, a city (decently small, but larger than 50,000 people) and has a reputation for theft, then this is a totally perfect bike. BUT! By no means is this secure enough to use to leave outdoors for more than 3 hours, especially overnight. In that time, any guy can run back home, grab his angle grinder and a few blades, and get through this lock in probably 3-4 minutes. If you absolutely NEED an overnight lock, I suggest getting some that are made out of anti-angle grinder materials. They'll run you $250+, but will make it worth your while, as it'll gnaw away at the perp's saw blade before it'll gnaw away at the lock itself. Either this, or you can get one that plays a loud alarm when moved. Now, one of my only complaints about the lock is the plastic housing on it. The part that holds the locking mechanism is a cheap sort of plastic that will chip away every time that it hits the pavement. And, if you're clumsy like I am, you're bound to drop this thing on pavement hundreds of times. Even just dragging it against the pavement is going to make it look like it escaped a tiger's den! This isn't that big of a deal as you can just be more careful with it, and so far it hasn't brought any issues as far as I'm aware.

Great customer service. Updated my rating. I unfortunately received a lock that would not unlock after very little use. We tried every key and possible way to unlock it -- but customer service did reach out almost immediately and offered to replace it. Thank you. We purchased a different brand. It was just a bit scary that if I got to my destination and it wouldn't unlock - how would I get home as well as cut the lock off. I will give the lock chain 5 stars. It was heavy duty and will most likely deter any thief. Good length solid chain when the actual lock worked.

This chain in the perfect length and thickness for securing my large E bike in urban environments. It's quite heavy but that's expected if you want security. The lock isn't going anywhere once in place. It's worth every penny.

As others have mentioned, this is a hefty lock! It’s heavy and pricey and the locking mechanism doesn’t always turn without some wiggling, jiggling, cajoling, and occasionally threats. I never struggle to unlock it, but the rubber creeps up the chain section and makes getting it locked the very last straw if you happen to be running late. That said, I very much still have the bike for which I use this lock and I have always been able to find places to park it because the lock is so versatile. Bike racks, trees, pipes, sign posts, hub cap spokes, a sleeping camel - this chain can wrap around just about anything if it stays stationary long enough and still have your bike waiting there for you when you get back.

This product is one of the better chain locks out there, and there is a good amount of length so that you can attach it to most things. The only downside is that it is a bit heavy, although that's probably due to the strength and quality of the chain. I've watched videos of people cutting through this and it takes several minutes and also a replacement blade to do so, as the first one would become dull trying to cut through it. Therefore this lock would make it exceedingly difficult for any thief to get through, especially in a public place where there are other people around... Overall this one get's the job done!

Acheté pour un VAE, l'un pour rester au parking vélo de l'immeuble, l'autre pour accompagner mes déplacements et sécurisé le VAE. Facile d'utilisation. Je l'enroule pour le transporter sous la selle.

I recently purchased this chain lock with Sold Secure Gold certification, and I couldn’t be happier with my choice. At 120 cm long, it’s the perfect length to lock both the bike frame and rear wheel securely to a bike rack or railing. This gives me peace of mind, especially when leaving my bike in high-risk areas. Yes, it’s a bit over 2 kg, so it’s on the heavier side, but that’s a small trade-off for the serious protection it offers. The weight actually feels reassuring—it’s clear this lock is built to withstand serious attempts at theft. The chain links and lock mechanism exude quality, and you can tell a lot of thought went into its design. 5-star recommendation from my side.

Chain is long enough for my use, heavy but that was expected, very happy from purchase, time will show if it is safe enough :) (as for now would reccomend !)

Das Kohlburg-Fahrradkettenschloss ist ordentliche massiv und verfügt über einen Wendeschlüssel, der sehr leicht ins Schloss gleitet. Gerade der Schlüssel ist bei den meisten anderen Fahrradschlössern oft schwer ins Schloss zu bekommen und zu drehen. Hier gleitet er leicht und schnell ins Schloss, was die Handhabung sehr erleichtert. Es werden gleich DREI Schlüssel mitgeliefert. Somit ist man gut gerüstet, sollte ein Schlüssel einmal verloren gehen. Die Kette ist mit 120cm genau richtig lang. Die meisten Fahrradketten haben ca. 90cm, was in den meisten Fällen zu kurz ist, um das Fahrrad an einem Objekt festzumachen und dabei die Kette auch noch durch das Vorderrad zu bekommen. Das ist bei 90cm Fahrradketten nur sehr schwer möglich. Außerdem kann man die Fahrradkette komfortabel schräg um den Oberkörper tragen, was den Transport erleichtert. Die Kette ist durch ihre Länge ziemlich massiv und eignet sich somit auch für Motorräder und wertvolle E-Bikes. Durch ihre Länge und die Massivität ist die Kette ziemlich schwer. Ich finde jedoch, dass das Gewicht noch ein sehr guter Kompromiss aus Komfort, Sicherheit und Andwendungsmöglichkeiten bietet. Der Preis ist für ein Schloss dieser Sicherheitsstufe und dieser Qualität hervorragend. Eine klare Kaufempfehlung!
