Review: Ayurveda for All ~ an easy to follow food bible to body balance & bliss. - I’m a student of Ayurveda, learning to practice this age old art & science of health to help others...so when I found Jasmine’s book, I was excited to try out the recipes & see how they related to what I’m learning. Well, what can I say...recipe after recipe, I’ve yet to make one where I’m not salivating for more, even though my stomach has had enough. From the best ever golden milk I’ve ever tasted, with amazing belly hug porridge recipes like sweet potato & orange or fig, cinnamon & cardamom congee, mouth watering ideas to va va vooom your morning eggs or baked inspirations such as buckwheat banana bread or rosemary mung bean bread to savoury meals that melt in your mouth like lemon, turmeric & black pepper salmon with greens or kitchari or the delicious Rasta dal. And and and...then there’s sweet delights like mango lassi mousse, the infamous golden spoon (OMG) and carrot halva to name just a few of the super delish recipes in this beautiful book. And that’s just the recipes...Jasmine also includes very comprehensive details about how Ayurveda actually works for the lay person & how to incorporate it into our western lifestyle, including a seasonal cleanse routine, spice mixes, beverages to suit all types, remedies for mild ailments & tips for travelling too. Overall, it’s a brilliant addition to any kitchen if you’re interested in improving how you live and eat in harmony with your body, mind & spirit. I’d also highly recommend it to the curious cook, who’s keen to explore a way of putting food together which works in the pan, on the plate & in the palate for all round culinary & gastronomic enjoyment. A+++ Review: Accessible introduction to Ayurveda with delicious recipes! - I bought this book about nine months ago and I’ve made more recipes from this cookbook than any other I own. A lot of “healthy” cookbook recipes are either raw based or very bean/chickpea heavy, neither of which suit me. There are so many delicious, comforting dishes in East by West, all of which are simple, easy to make and don’t take too long. I particularly like the Dahl recipes, golden milk, teff flour pancakes (really light and fluffy), spiced carrot soup and the gram shortbread. Qunioa minestrone tastes a lot better than it sounds ! and the risotto and spring clean brown rice soup were really good too. Jasmine uses spices judiciously, enough to make the dishes tasty but not overpowering. There are notes so you can adjust recipes to suit how you feel which is really helpful. I’ve seen an Ayurvedic doctor for the last ten years and really feel this book captures the ethos of this ancient medical system in an accessible and practical way.

Way more than a cook book! Life-changing. Delicious. Wholesome.
I have to admit that I have collected a few cookery books over my time, some have remained untested, others, like East by West has got splashes of spices on most pages! This is way more than a cook book and since using it on a regular basis it has not only made me more interested (once again) in cooking, it has changed the way that my family and I eat and how we feel. We have always cooked from scratch, and always eaten ‘healthily’ but I’ve never felt better than since I’ve eaten in line with my Dosha. I’ve eaten more, rarely go hungry, but feel better, lighter but moreover, feel like my body is responding way better to this type of food than precious leafy salads I was eating before. This isn’t a cook book for me, it is a way of life. Thank you Jasmine, having met you, your recipes and tips are as warm, hearty and helpful as you are :) Can’t wait for the next one!

Much more than a cookbook....
I have a shelf full of 'cookbooks' but this book is so much more than that. It's the bible in my kitchen. The book i turn to for food inspiration, for medicinal home remedies when I'm feeling unwell. For guidance on how to optimise my digestion and answers to why I feel great after some foods and no so great after others. The life science of ayurveda is explained so eloquently by Jasmine that it's easy to digest (pun intended) and even easier to adopt. I can not recommend this book enough, packed with recipes for every pallete, the flavours are incredible. In this book Jasmine really has managed to capture the essence of the East and tastefully deliver it to the West. Great Job!

Most used cook book!
Iv had this book for years now and find myself using it regularly. It has so much information on Ayurveda inside, not just recipes and the recipes it does have are great because there is a mix of everyday basics I cook time and time again as well as more crowd pleasers and special occasion dishes.

This book is great! Easy to read and the Ayurvedic philosophy is explained in a way that is easy to understand. The recipes are easy to follow and all the recipes I have tried have tasted great. They are suitable for everyone and there are always suggestions on how to alter them according to your dosha. I met Jasmine at a retreat, and she is a wonderful woman with lots of positive energy!

Beautiful, inspired and inspiring cookbook. Recipes are all straight forward but do require some pre-planning since some of the ingredients are not at all "regular" grocery stores. A perfect answer to anyone who is looking to use more Ayurvedic cooking in their lives! Though, it is not geared towards cooking for kids a lot of the recipes (especially those that are more snack-like) would be great healthy, kid friendly options!
