Very useful if you already have a reciprocating saw, but don't want or need to faff about with a powered unit. I bought this mainly for garden pruning, using the supplied wood blade, and can also use the blades I already have. As with the Bosch utility knife I recently purchased, it sits nicely in the hand, and is angled slightly to facilitate easier cutting. It uses a simpler and less expensive version of the Bosch reciprocating saw blade locking mechanism, and blade insertion and removal is easy.

I find it pretty universal. Holds the blades firmly. Not gonna replace a proper saw, but if you need to saw something week quickly, don't have to go out to the shed for the big saw.

I'd inherited a bunch of reciprocating saw blades a while back - without actually owning a reciprocating saw, and they'd been sat there doing nothing. So, I was really pleased to find that Bosch do a handle which means I can use them like a hacksaw which saves me a tonne of time. The handle comes with a couple of blades - metal and general purpose - that store inside the unit. There's probably space for another one or two blades in there as well. If you have recip blades or saw, I'd recommend this as a great way to use those blades when the saw isn't required.

Premium Quality Plastic with a Heavy Duty Feel

Definitely not up to Bosch's usual quality, especially the storage clip and the blade lock switch, they make it look cheap. Even the casing isnt the usual bosch quality in terms of thickness and construction quality. Its all plastic throughout and will either wear badly or break
