I’ve been using these Kasa smart switches in my bedroom for everything and they easily turn off and turn on the fan lights to the bedside lamps, and they’ve been working flawlessly. They connected and were compatible with Alexa with no hassle, and now I can control everything with my voice or from my phone, makes life a lot easier, especially at night. They were easy to install, work exactly like they’re supposed to, and for the price, the durability has been great. Very happy with the product, these were a great value. Just a solid upgrade for making the house a little smarter without breaking the bank.

I had originally been installing Leviton Decora smart switches in my house but the pricing on those has skyrocketed and I found these when looking for a more affordable alternative. I'm glad I did as I absolutely love them and they have been more reliable than my existing Leviton devices which has me wanting to rip and replace all of those as well. Installation is simple though your home does need to be wired with a neutral (mine is). Setup is very straight forward and integration with both Google Home and my local Home Assistant instance was a breeze once the devices were online. If I had to pick anything to be critical of, the paddle of the switch is only activated on the bottom, so unlike the Leviton switches where you push the top of the paddle to turn the switch on and the bottom for off, these you only push the bottom. In reality, I bought smart switches to not have to touch the paddle, and all the difference does for me is increase my desire to remove the Leviton curse from my home to have consistent actuation throughout.If you are looking for a great quality switch for a reasonable price, you found it with these. Also, you are not limited to using the faceplates shown. I removed those as almost all of the switches I installed went into double gang bosses where I used the original double gang plates. They look great!

Tl;dr, easy to install, great connectivity, and sleek look.I’ve had Kasa plugs for more than five years and knew they’d always worked great for me, but I’d never used anything Matter-enabled from the brand so I was curious how that would go to replace a smart-enabled but cobbled together solution for a stupid kitchen light switch placement.Install of the plug itself was as easy as any other switch (quick tip—if you don’t know which is the live and which is the line and which is the load, after pulling out but before disconnecting your old switch, turn the breaker back on briefly and use a NON CONTACT tester to see which wire is live when the switch is in the off position. The one that sets it off is the line.)Connecting to my Apple Home was exceptionally simple with the included QR code (stick it to the back of your switch plate!) and I haven’t had a single issue asking Siri to turn it on and off. It’s so quick to respond and makes my life so much easier.It has a sleek look and is the exact same size as a standard rocker switch, so if you have a multi-switch box, a normal face plate can still be used. The little indicator light does stay on all the time (at least as far as I’ve seen) but I don’t mind this and it’s not glaringly bright. The switch obviously doesn’t actually rock back and forth which is weird to get used, it’s molded in the usual “on” position and then pushes like a button.

They work well, and I have bought these multiple times over the years. One issue is that they do sometimes drop from your Home App. Re adding them is not a huge issue, but I now keep a list of the code for each switch, because you need that to add them to your Home App, and if you don't have it written down somewhere, you have to remove the cover plate to get the code, and that can be a pain.
