Best tin opener there is.
Been through too many cheap tin opener's to count. This has lasted ages and has no signs of degradation to the action. Opens tins easily and leaves no sharp edge which is a nice touch. Very easy to use and action is very smooth. I’d say I would buy again, but I’m not sure I’ll need to with how well it works.

Best tin opener on the planet
I've had one of these for a decade now, and it's showing no signs of issues (usually tin openers seem to last 5 minutes). A testament to how amazing these tin openers are is I've bought one for pretty much every friend and family member and they've all loved them/ Really easy to turn (my mother has arthritis in her hands and she's fine with this opener), no more sharp can edges to risk cuts etc. All round best tin opener I've ever used. These guys have a customer for life, though the tin opener may outlive me, I'll keep on dishing them out to people as gifts

This opener changes how you'll use cans
Like other reviews have said, this is an amazing can opener, but takes some getting used to. But it only took 2 cans for me to get the hang of it. I'm the type that believes she knows how to work any gadget straight out of the box without instructions and got tripped up on how to release the opener from the can. So from my experience, tips that might help you out: - Just place the lid of the can between the 2 blades/gears until you feel resistance, like a normal can opener. - Turn the handle clockwise until you no longer feel resistance. I didn't even worry about the handle being at a specific o'clock when I started like the instructions suggest. - Then give the handle a quick counter-clockwise turn to release the can opener from the tin. This was the important step I missed without reading the instructions and just assumed I could lift it off once I finished going around the can. - At this point you won't be able to lift the lid unless you have good strong nails. But, that's the whole point of having the mini-pliers on the side of the opener. Just place them over the lip of the can, press the white button to grip, lift up and Viola! Your can is open. Seems like a lot of steps for a simple gadget, but it really is simple and faster than more traditional can openers once you get the hang of it. Tips aside, this is the best can opener I've ever owned and I've had both manual and electric. And here's why: - No sharp edges - as advertised - so I don't cut myself when emptying or washing the can for recycling like I used to. I even use it on pull-ring cans for this reason. My only advice is, even though it's rounded, it's still a thin piece of metal, so I still handle the cans with care. But I did the whole infomercial thing of running my fingers around the lid and top of the can after I opened my first one and was so pleased not to feel anything jagged! - I rarely hold the can to lift of the lid, because it's so easy to do with the mini-pliers. This is awesome for avoiding getting liquid on my hands - esp. for smellier items like tuna. - Given the unique cut provided by this opener, you can reuse the can lid for storage. I wouldn't recommend doing it for more than 1-2 days as it's not air tight. But the lid does slot right back down on the can. So for things like tuna where I may only use half a can a day for lunch, instead of emptying the 2nd half of the can into another storage container, I just pop the lid of the can back on and put it in the fridge. LOVE this! - Finally, it has a smooth action and isn't hard to turn. My mom doesn't have arthritis, but her hands aren't as strong as they used to be so I thought about getting her this for a present because it's so easy to turn. All in all, I love this can opener. I can't comment on it's use on small cans yet, as others have mentioned, as I've yet to use any. So I've kept my old clunky opener if/when I find this doesn't work on smaller can sizes. But for now I'm totally happy with the purchase and actually look forward to opening cans!

Not too taxing for my arthritis.
Reasonably priced Khun Rikon are well made devices that last I have several different ones that just keep going. This tin opener safely cuts but leaves no sharp edges and doesn't cause my arthritis any problems in use. Easy to use once you get used to it. I am happy with my purchase.

Easy to use and very good
I use this almost every day to open cans even if they have ring pulls on them as I got cut by one. Works 99.9% of the time and then you have the little claws on them as well to get hold of the lid you've just created and makes it easy.

Absolutely rubbish!
I don’t think it would be possible to make a worse product than this! Does not even pierce the metal of the tin can, just makes castellated marks around the circumference of the can. Returned.

Useless
Not usless. It just didn't work for me to start with (maybe it was the particular can?). But I'm mechanically quite savvy and wasn't going to give up. The teath on the rotating gear only just engage with the inner rim of the can and the cut is just 1mm below the outer rim, leaving clean, burr-free edges to both lid and can. 5 stars!

Works really well. Unlike most can openers, it does not cut the top of the lid but separates it from the tin. No sharp edges to cut yourself against and you can use the lid of the tin as a removable lid until the tin contents are empty. Had another make which eventually stopped working properly after a few years. This one seems to be of a better quality.

It’s not as effortless as described. Some moderate force is needed. Not for people with arthritis

Works very well. Fits on the top of the can and cuts the side under the lip. Results in safer can lid to handle. Has a little gripper beak you can use to grab the cut lid. Seems like good quality and not too hard to turn. Recommended!

Does exactly what it says. Easy to use, cuts through every can nicely, picks up the lid and leaves no sharp edges.
