Good collar for “pullers,” easy to clean!
My boxer has a lot of extra neck skin 😂 getting a good fit is tough, especially with traditional fabric martingale collars. I have a size large on second to smallest hole, so about 4 inches of collar is unsecured, but the material is fairly rigid so it’s not a problem. If it becomes an issue I’ll probably just cut it off. Biggest issue I had with the traditional fabric martingale collars is my dog’s fur would also get interwoven with the material (see photo)…and the more fur, the more itchy he got. The more itchy he got the more he’d stretch the fabric collar. If you have a boxer you know their fur is like little barbs if thin wire & it will embed into anything porous (including your skin 😂). The black collar in the photo is as clean as I can get it after washing & using tape to pull as much fur out as possible…spent at least an hour on it. I do love the brand & have been loyal to their product for years but I can’t take much more! As soon as I saw this collar I knew it was the answer to my furry collar issue. My dog is very comfortable, the slip chain connector works like a martingale does & prevents or reduces pulling. Can’t get as precise of a fit because of the belt-like hole & clasp closure, but it’s pretty dang close, and I’d imagine you could use an awl to customize if needed. He’s itchihg noticeably less, and the material is rigid (yet pliable), so I expect it won’t stretch. It’s a little heavier than the fabric style but not cumbersome by any means. Obviously the material will be infinitely easier to clean than the fabric. I usually use a prong collar on our walks but will give this a try…he’s a puller, but the design should allow me to fit it around the upper neck/jaw line so he won’t choke himself. Would definitely recommend!

They look good
Great all-time and back up collar. Bright colors make it easier to see my dog. This collar isn't designed to stop pulling but is a better alternative over a harness or plastic buckle collars. Better alternative over leather because its waterproof. The chain is sufficient. I have 2 strong dogs. I bought this collar 5 months ago and a Mighty Paw for my other. The MP works and the chain is a little thicker than the JH. They both love to play in the water. Just ordered a second JH in light blue.

Perfect and not dirty
Only collar I’ll buy. I have a huge dog and it’s solid as a rock. Perfect fit.

Perfect Collar
Very high quality and puppy proof. Doesn’t sit tight and doesn’t inflict any skin irritations although Thai Ridgebacks are prone to the problem. Enables very good leash control.

Medium is quite large, still. OVERALL, I recommend.
Really thick, really heavy. Which, you know for a 28in Rottie/Foxhound mix not an issue. What is though is how MASSIVE this is, even in a MEDIUM. I measured my dog's neck at 18.5. When using as slip collar, it can go as low as 16in until it starts "Correcting" him. On this thing I have it on the 3rd hole from the end, so about mid-point of this collar. I had it on the 4th hole from the end, but that might be ever so slightly too tight. So... keep that in mind. PROS: -Build. This thing is heavy, all the hardware on it is big as well. It's an inch thick collar. This could probably tow a small trailer. -Personally, I've tried SLIP LEADS, Slip Collars, and Prongs. While Prongs are great in training, I would take this for crowd work. It's not going to raise alarms, and gets the job done. -Due to the coating on this, it's quite grippy. As such it won't annoyingly slide around too much on your dog's neck so you're not hunting for the latching ring. -True BIOTHANE, probably Biothane 520 if I had to guess. MEH -Color. I got the light blue. On Maxwell. It's more NEON BLUE, which is a nice and still MASCULINE blue. I wished they had HUNTER or OLIVE GREEN, that was the ORIGINAL color scheme for Max. Neon Green was way too much. Thinking about Teal, to go with the whole Scooby look as a black and tan dog. Cons: -Sizing... My dog's not small by any metric. He is a PROPER large, 28in to the shoulder DOG. SO GLAD I went with MEDIUM, but now I need one for my girl, who is slightly smaller than him at 24in to the shoulder and is more petite in frame. Both dogs have SLENDER profiles. Zelda, because she's a Dutch/Malinois. Max due to his 50% foxhound, though has the massive ROTTIE head and front paws. Shelter Mutt issues. Her neck is like 15in around, and will probably go small with her. -This could definitely use one of those... what are they called, "strap loops" since, 4 holes in on this collar, and you get a bit of a tail, that can catch on things, and become a problem. Can't use normal TAPE for it, since it won't stick well, will catch, get super dirty and become a mess for you. I have some heat shrink that's supposed to be 2-1. That might fit over the hardware and be an option. -At 1in wide and about 1/8th inch thick. This is quite stiff, hard to manipulate. Feels Premium. Clearly is REAL BIOTHANE BRAND BIOTHANE. Conclusion: I do recommend this. It's super well made, the blue is not LIGHT BLUE, but more SONIC THE HEDGEHOG BLUE, like a CERULEAN. It's a nice blue, but it's not what I think of when I think "LIGHT BLUE". This is also PROPER BIOTHANE, not the cheap Chinese knockoffs. This supposedly can hold 1,000lbs at 1in thickness like this, and I buy it. This is stiff, hard to manipulate, while having really nice hefty hardware. If you do buy the small, I don't recommend it on anything smaller than an Aussie/Border Collie. Since even if you're scaling down weight, it's still a hefty collar. I would bet the Medium is nearing 1lb. I'm sold on the Martingale collars as the best control collar, and will be using it for crowded events like street fairs, which living on the gulf coast, we have a lot of. Like Mardis Gras coming up. Pictures: One on Max the Rottie Mix (Black and Tan) One on Zelda the Dutch/Mal mix (Black) Then a spool from Biothane USA's site of the color of the collars under their lighting. It's a nice blue. it's as I said, 90s Sonic the Hedgehog blue. And next to it is Biothane USA's SKY BLUE.

Highly recommended
Super high quality. Looks great. Hasn't rusted at all. We use this collar at the beach combined with a prong collar. My 145lb presa could not break this collar.

Good quality collar
This is a really nice, durable martingale collar. Stainless hardware is great. Color is great. Biothane is nice since it's waterproof & strong. The chain slides well. Really no cons to this collar.

Great every day collar that will last a long time
Great collar. Love the green. Has faded some in the sun after a few months, but still holding up well otherwise. Just wipe to clean. Have ordered the small and medium for my growing boxer puppy. His final size will be the large pretty soon. Bought this on the recommendation of Garret Wing from the Diyk9 courses. I love the martingale style because it ensures when hooked up to the leash, he will never be able to back out of his collar as it tightens with tension.
