I'm a big fan of the Olight i1R 2, so when I saw the i1R 2 Pro on offer, I snapped one up. There were more differences than I expected. Size: The i1R 2 Pro is slightly longer and fatter than the i1R 2. The Pro is almost exactly the same length as an AA battery, but a bit plumper. The i1R 2 is a bit shorter than an AA battery, but about the same diameter. Due to its larger size, some might find the Pro less "fiddly" than the i1R 2, if you're the sort of person who finds some things a bit fiddly or awkward. Charging: While charge cables are provided for both torches, the Pro is charged via USB-C, and the i1R 2 by USB-Micro. Weight: The Pro weighs 0.75oz, the i1R 2 weighs 0.50oz. For comparison, an Amazon rechargeable AA battery weighs 0.95oz. Output: I've uploaded a photo of the two torches side by side on full brightness. The distance from torch to ceiling was approximately 4ft, and the ceiling tiles are 1ft wide. As you can see in the picture, the Pro is slightly brighter than the i1R 2, but when I was taking the picture, there really didn't seem to be much difference in brightness. The low light function seemed much the same for both. Summary: I've bought 3 Olight i1R 2 torches and they are excellent. Two of them have lived unobtrusively on keyrings, not getting in the way but getting battered by my keys, and working on demand. The third, used for this review, was bought when it was on offer on Amazon. i1R 2. Battery life has never been an issue; I never need to charge them, as they are an emergency torch for occasional use and they seem to go on and on for every with occasional use. The i1R 2 Pro is new to me. It offers a little more light and longer battery life but at the penalty of a larger size, 50% extra weight and a higher purchase price. I started this review fully intending to tell you how great the Pro is, how much brighter than the standard i1R 2 it is, and how, for just a few more pounds, you could have a far superior torch. But having tested them side by side, I honestly can't think of a reason to buy the Pro in favour of the standard i1R 2, unless you have a strong preference for USB-C charging. Now I have bought the Pro, I can tell you that I won't be taking an i1R 2 off my keyring to replace it with the Pro, as it will be noticeably bigger and heavier on my keyring. The Olight i1R 2 Pro is a great little torch, but the Olight i1R 2 is smaller, lighter and gives nearly the same light output, though for a shorter duration, which makes it the ideal for use on a keyring. Whatever you decide, hopefully I've given you enough information on both to make an informed buying choice.

This is a great quality, robust keychain torch from a reputable manufacture at a great price. Operation is simple and for its size it produce a decent localised light. Great as an alternative to turning on the bedroom light to avoid disturbing anyone else. Attractive design with USBC socket for recharging. Recommended.

This is a tiny torch which fits into a pocket or handbag to carry with you whenever some illumination is required. It's easy to recharge, and operates with a simple twist of the handle. For its size, the beam is very bright, and perfectly adequate for a dark patch of path on the way home, as we encounter in our village. The convenience it brings for this price make it a must have to keep in your bag.

This is a great little EDC key ring torch, built to a high quality and feels strong specially for it's small size. It has a very basic function in the it twists to turn on and off and has 2 levels of brightness dependant on how far you twist it, I've never felt the need to use the low level light, however, the max brightness is a good level to see everything directly infront of you for a few meters out. The light has a fairly wide angle, so is more like a flood light than focused, so will light up plenty but only upto a limited distance. I have the RovyVon A1, which in comparison has better light output, though this may also be in part due to the more focused beam which carries greater distance. Though I've always been happy with the Olight, it does struggle to compete with the RovyVon. The one thing I like more on this one, is the simplicity and ease of the twist function to operate the torch. The rechargeable battery can be charged via USB-C by fully untwisting the torch to reveal the port hidden inside the body - a very cool and smart design in my opinion.

This little light has been a useful addition to my EDC. It is small enough to add to your keychain. Easily recharged via usb C. There are two light levels. The low setting gives enough light for you to find your way around a dark room and the bright setting is bright enough for bigger tasks. The light feels robust. The light is turned on by twisting the top. Twisting further gives the brighter light. You need to be careful to twist it far enough off so that pressing in the end of the light does not inadvertently cause the light to shine. I like this light. Recomended.
