Frank (Bruce Willis), Joe (Morgan Freeman), Marvin (John Malkovich) and Victoria (Helen Mirren) used to be the CIA s top agents but the secrets they know just made them the Agency s top targets. Now framed for assassination, they must use all of their collective cunning, experience and teamwork to stay one step ahead of their deadly pursuers and stay alive. To stop the operation, the team embarks on an impossible, cross-country mission to break into the top-secret CIA headquarters, where they will uncover one of the biggest conspiracies and cover-ups in government history. Review: Action, comedy suspense all rolled into 2 legendary movies. - I absolutely love these as there is Red 2. Just brilliant action, suspense and the humor John Malkovich brings as Marv is nothing short of sheer excellence. He doesn't have to even do anything he's just so funny, but always right too, lol. Helen Mirren plays a great part to, as well as AnthonyHopkins in Red 2. And obviously Bruce Willis. It is bitter sweet due to how Bruce is now, but I like to watch these and remember him for what he did best, and that is to entertain. Buy both these movies you'll not be disappointed. Humor and action all the way through. "Old man my a**" Malkovich is a legend in both these movies. Review: RED is a superbly entertaining movie - Bruce Willis is wonderful and the rest of the cast are also magnificent. I knew it would be entertaining, but I didn't know how much. It's witty, action filled and brilliant from start to finish and the romantic relationships in it are just awesome. Karl Urban is hot and sexy as the CIA operative and is a brilliant foil for Bruce Willis' character. Well written, well plotted and very much worth watching. Helen Mirren totally kicks arse and John Malkovich is delightfully insane. It has the fun and action of The Losers [Blu-ray] [2010 ] and just a touch of romance as well. The plot is engaging and makes sense, which is superb because so many modern films give up plot for CGI. I cannot recommend this film enough.

Red hot
This was been on my buy when cheap enough list (otherwise known as Amazon wish list) for some time before I finally got round to buying and watching it and wondering why the hell I waited so long because it's great. Based on a short graphic novel by Warren Ellis and Cully Hammer, the producers (or whoever) had the sense to keep only the idea and the skeleton of the story, flesh it out and hire some of the best actors of a certain age which also includes Brian Cox and Richard Dreyfuss, use a script peppered with great dialogue and lots of action, and let it loose. Ex-CIA black ops agent Willis regularly phones an office in Kansas City ostensibly to complain about the non-appearance of his retirement cheque but really to flirt with the thirty-something woman (Mary-Louise Parker) who deals with his case. When, following the latest call, a CIA hit team arrive to take him out but get taken by him. He then drives to Kansas City to rescue/kidnap Parker before they get to her and then get in touch with old black ops buddies to find out what the hell has been going on. Freeman is in an old people's home dying of cancer, Malkovitch is paranoid and living in a swamp, ex-MI6 hitwoman Mirren is living a gentile life in the American countryside. He also consults old Russian enemy Brian Cox who has a history with Mirren. Meanwhile immaculately dressed, ruthless CIA hitman Karl Urban (a fine actor when given the right role) is given the task of dealing with Willis and his team. Urban has only one flaw which is a tendency to independent thinking. I can't tell you Richard Dreyfuss' role in this or I'd have to kill you. What you get is an action-packed but witty romp where all the cast are on top form and clearly having fun at the same time. There's great chemistry between the five leads -don't forget Parker, and Cox's part is more than a cameo. The action sequences are done well and watch out for John Malkovitch versus... but that would be telling. Sure it's a mindless piece of fluff but it also happens to be great entertainment and a sequel would be welcomed by me at least.

Love it
My favourite Bruce Willis movie. I love the humour in this action packed adventure. I love Mary-Louise Parker in the role of Sarah. Her character is so well acted and gave me a lot of laughs.

Bruce, Helen and Morgan as a bunch of indestructible old spies who are targeted by the CIA. Far-fetched? Just a wee bit! Fun movie to watch? You bet! Laughs? Yep! Lots of action and gratuitous explosions? Absolutely! So, what's not to like? Yeah, this isn't going to win awards for the most clever plot, for the best acting, or for being close to realistic, but I enjoyed the movie from start to finish, and then ordered Red 2 to get more of the same. It's a fun movie, features Bruce being indestructible (which he does well), has a female love interest he has to protect, and lots of silly, laugh-out-loud moments. This is entertaining. In the end, that's exactly what I wanted, and loved, about Red.
