Definitely ideal for phone owners without SD-Card slots - this has exceptional transfer speeds too!
I bought this USB 3.0 flash drive recently - for use with my smartphone which unfortunately has quite limited storage space and doesn't have a Micro-SD card slot. I cannot say that this memory stick appealed to me first out of a long list of metal/high quality flash drives due to the OTG micro-usb port which I strongly needed for my phone. The memory stick has been absolutely amazing and portable, yet not too small (unlike some competitors' product) to be lost in a restaurant or hotel room. The metal finish is a very nice touch, meaning the stick is cool to the touch and easy to find in a bag or pocket, and means that there is no risk of any parts snapping or breaking off (no plastic components except the de-attachable lid). Furthemore, the read and write (transfer) speeds between my laptop, desktop and smartphone are unbelievably quick for a cheaper (under £20 for 64GB stick) flash drive; and the quick speeds mean that I can stream my MP3 music files directly off the drive whilst it is plugged into my phone. I have only filled up 10GB of the storage of this flash drive, and there are over 600 high-quality songs! So, in conclusion this product is ideal for anyone who has a phone or device without SD-card slots, and wants to listen to music, transfer photos to and from their computer or just in general use as a high-quality, speedy and stylish thumb drive!

A Small and Reliable Memory Stick with Excellent Performance
I have been using the Samsung Memory Bar USB 3.0 (128GB) for a several months now and I am very pleased with its reliability and performance. As a designer I needed fast portable storage for projects and files from clients which are often several gigabytes. Using USB 2.0 is too slow so I looked for the fastest USB 3.0 memory stick that would be durable for day to day use. The Samsung Memory bar has worked flawlessly for this purpose, with high transfer speeds ~130MB/s topping out at ~147MB/s. This has been invaluable to transfer large files and projects in minimal time. I also use the memory bar on USB 2.0 ports as well as and the transfer speed is of a high consistency too ~30MB/s. This is handy as not everyone has USB 3.0 that's easily accessible. (I have included USB speed test results for USB 3.0 and 2.0) The Samsung Memory bar is made from solid metal construction with a nice curve that integrates into a loop so you can attach it to a keyring. It's very small but feels durable and solid in the hand. When in use the body of the memory bar does heat up being metal but only feels warm to the touch and not too hot. The Memory bar has some dust, water and shock resistance, which is useful to me when travelling. The shape and ergonomics of the memory bar are excellent too. It's easy to plug in and out of USB ports and the solid metal construction only gives the memory bar a high quality feel. Overall I am very happy with my purchase of the Samsung Memory Bar (128GB). It's been a reliable piece of technology in my workflow that has saved me so much time compared to slower USB 2.0 and 3.0 devices. I highly recommend it to anyone who needs a small, fast and reliable USB drive.

Great memory stick.
I WAS worried when I read some reviews saying that this product gets hot but took a chance and bought it anyway because Samsung is usually an assurance of quality. I'm glad I did buy it too. It arrived promptly & it downloaded my files onto it relatively fast. It DOES get toasty as it transfers your data but not overly warm where you can't touch it and it soon cools down once it has finished doing it's job. Also I can understand the people saying it is quite small and easy to lose but on the plus side, it seems robust and has a five year guarantee. I've just bought a small tin to keep my memory sticks in so hopefully I won't misplace them. To get to the point,I would definitely recommend this product - the design is sleek, it works efficiently and the 128 GB version has plenty of space for all types of files, from music to documents and the £34 price tag is reasonable compared to other brands.

Good but not without its limitations.
I like this little drive but it isn't without its flaws. Pro - Compact - This is a nice small drive and even though it sticks out a bit for the keyring hole they designers have thought it through enough that it doesn't get in the way of the other port. Pro/Con - Connectivity - This isn't necessarily the devices fault but this stick will only work with certain phones/tablets. For example this works perfectly with my tablet but it doesn't work with my Wileyfox phone. So before you buy this make sure you do a quick search on the net about your phone/tablet and confirm it can cope with OTG (On the go). If it does then this drive should work fine. Pro - Convenience - I have more recently found my self doing more and more work on my tablet over my laptop. So I have started to resent waiting the 5 minutes for my laptop to boot up and then transferring my files to my laptop then transferring them to a USB stick. This USB stick removes the middle man (laptop) and allows me to move files from my tablet to USB. Con - Bizzare design - Generally this USB is a nice little sleek all metal unit. I brought this because I saw there was a hole in the cap an the unit. So the plan was to put a keyring through both the cap and the unit. However, the length of the cap to the little hole on the USB stick plus the size of the hole basically make this a useless design feature. The only thing I can think of that would keep the cap with the USB would be a paper clip which isn't exactly sturdy. Loosing caps on USB sticks is a pet peeve of mine especially on the potentially fragile micro usb connection. Even though I have grumbled about the strange cap design, I do really like this little drive. It is handy to have this for moving files quickly. The only thing is this wont be able to sit on my keyring like my Phillips circle, which is a shame but not a deal breaker for me.

A tiny giant!!
Excellent product. Had easily in excess of 10 USBs through the years and Samsung has never let me down (external HD or USB) and this USM is no exception. The USB only protrudes the area of the white plastic end piece on my Mac Book Air. I have no idea on transfer speeds and the like all i know is it currently has holding over 100 movies and or TV series and or documentaries, still had 17Gb free and is never taken out my machine. As expected for its size its storage is exceptional. There are no issues with preparing the drive before loading material….this was straight out the packet and straight into downloading material onto it. The ONLY issue is every so often i will open my machine and its not recognised. This issue takes 2 seconds to fix to pull the USB out and reinsert and really isn't worth detracting on a 5 Star review. With prices changing all the time it doesn't really matter what you pay for it (concerning the question of value for money) since the figure will be irrelevant when you see the quality and versatility of the product you are getting. Overall truly excellent and thinking of getting another one for my photographs.

It is strong and stable
I have had many a decent memory stick before this one however, after accidentally snapping one clean in half while it was still in the computer I thought it a good idea to keep important files on a tougher and just all round better memory stick. This is the one I eventually decided on and it has done me very well. The main reason I chose it was due to is all metal, very sleek outer shell which I hoped would not snap (it definitely won't, I've tried) Basically it does exactly what samsung say it should do; it has survived a very hard frost when I accidentally left my keys outside, it keeps up with the stated read and write speed (which BTW I find plenty fast enough given it is only 16gb) and it has not yet even been scratched after owning it for a year. I am still to this day pleased with it and would defiantly recommend to anyone who needs a memory stick. The value is exelent Any questions please don't hesitate to ask, I will try to get back to you as soon as possible

Seems legit...
Got this drive (the 128GB "Bar" version) as a permanent addition to an NVIDIA Shield TV. - I was worried about heat (some of the smaller drives run quite hot) and thought the metal in this would act as a half-decent heat-sink. The packaging looks genuine and I've just tested it with CrystalDiskMark. The results (attached) look pretty decent to me. See what you think. ==== CrystalDiskMark 5.2.1 x64 (C) 2007-2017 hiyohiyo Crystal Dew World : http://crystalmark.info/ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- * MB/s = 1,000,000 bytes/s [SATA/600 = 600,000,000 bytes/s] * KB = 1000 bytes, KiB = 1024 bytes Sequential Read (Q= 32,T= 1) : 146.710 MB/s Sequential Write (Q= 32,T= 1) : 45.485 MB/s Random Read 4KiB (Q= 32,T= 1) : 5.277 MB/s [ 1288.3 IOPS] Random Write 4KiB (Q= 32,T= 1) : 1.560 MB/s [ 380.9 IOPS] Sequential Read (T= 1) : 147.636 MB/s Sequential Write (T= 1) : 64.171 MB/s Random Read 4KiB (Q= 1,T= 1) : 4.595 MB/s [ 1121.8 IOPS] Random Write 4KiB (Q= 1,T= 1) : 1.444 MB/s [ 352.5 IOPS] Test : 2048 MiB [H: 0.0% (0.0/119.5 GiB)] (x9) [Interval=5 sec] Date : 2017/02/11 11:41:35 OS : Windows 10 Professional [10.0 Build 10586] (x64) Samsung MUF-128BA 128 GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive Bar ==== So far, I'm pretty happy with my purchase.

Lanyard hole too small
Firstly, and perhaps unfairly, I am docking 1/2 star because this thing is too small. The difficulty is that there often isn't enough clearance around the socket to insert it and especially extract it - particularly true if adjacent sockets are occupied. Unfair perhaps (many people - myself included - bought this because of its small size), but I think the design should have considered this problem. However I am unreservedly docking another 1.5 stars for the lanyard hole which is ridiculously small. A metal split ring (no matter how small) will not fit. Thread loops are available online, but are invariable too long at 10cm. The result is that it cannot be attached to a keychain, but must rattle around in the bottom of a pocket making it easy to lose. The inclusion of a 1-2cm lanyard would have allowed the attachment of a split ring and made extraction easier
