Q: Is there a mirror on cover of compact?

Thanks for checking. The mirror is inside the compact, on the opposite side of the pressed powder.

Q: Which is a darker shade beige or buff/beige ?

I would have to say buff beige. But its not so much that its either lighter or darker its the shade that is different.

Q: Has anyone else noticed a change in the color

The color has absolutely changed. I’ve worn the Translucent Light for years. It is now bright white. They changed the formula along with the packaging. I exchanged it for the Translucent, and it’s the same. It’s now thick, chalky, and bright clown white. I have never met anyone with skin lighter than mine.

Q: Is the translucent really translucent when applied to the face? Can I put it straight on my face by itself without any foundation?

It is translucent and can also be applied right on your skin. I use this as my only face makeup actually. It provides a little coverage by making my complexion look more even, but it’s light and not at all like foundation.
