This is simply the best garlic press I’ve ever owned. I think it’s owed to the design of the pressing mechanism, but it just makes pressing garlic so easy!! Yes, there is a little bit of garlic left in the bottom - but that happens with all presses I’ve tried, and if you just smoosh it around a bit you can press through again. Easy to clean too.

I bought one of these about 10 years ago (from a brick and mortar shop - remember them?) and I've used it most days since then. The press is in two parts - one part is where you add your garlic bulb (it can be peeled or not peeled). The other part is what is used to apply the pressure to crush the garlic. It uses a very simply corkscrew mechanism, starting with two lugs on one part to guide the two parts together to crush the garlic bulb. It's the best garlic crusher I've come across. It's dishwasher safe. You can use it to crush root ginger as well. This purchase is for a friend.

Great gadget- only problem leaves some of the clove uncrushed up the sides of the plunger but would still recommend

So I ordered this without really looking at the reviews, Joseph Joseph products are usually pretty good and I needed a new garlic press as my existing one was terrible. I read some reviews after I ordered it and was slightly put off by some of the bad ones. Don’t listen to the bad reviews, this garlic press is great - definitely the best one I’ve had (and I’ve had a few). You can get a number of garlic cloves in it so you don’t have to operate it as many times as usual if you’re using a lot, which I generally do. Figuring out how to actually use it first time is probably the only down side but when you’ve got it you’ve got it, that’ll only happen once. The mechanism is really effective and prevents garlic from squishing back out of the top of the press which virtually every press I’ve had before has done. Yes, 100% of the garlic isn’t pressed through and a very small amount is left after each operation, but no big deal. It’s not difficult to clean out after, I use the handle end of a teaspoon to scrape any remnants of a garlic out of the device, then straight in the dishwasher. Job done.

After reading reviews of other brands, I decided to get this one. The twisting mechanism is much better than other brands which parts are easily broken or snapped when you apply force to squeeze the garlic. The colour, design and material of Joseph Joseph are all good. Used three times so far. Hope it will last.

I absolutely love it, super easy to use and to clean. It fits a lot of cloves per use which to me is perfect. Also it's nice that it has two separate parts and that reduces the risk of breaking.

Hands down the best garlic press. Easy, easy to clean, does not get gunky garlic bits stuck in it. Great product, I might get the ricer since Ive seen someone use it for boiled eggs.
